You're listening to Israel Today ongoing war report. I'm Noah Levi. We begin with a strong statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He issued a stern warning to Iran on Sunday against attacking Israel, vowing that Tehran would face, a blow it cannot even imagine. Speaking at a Roch Hushana toast during a government meeting, Netanyahu declared Israel's determination to bring about the collapse of the Iranian regime, stating, this regime in Iran, its end is near. He asserted that Israel has emerged stronger from recent conflicts, while its enemies have been weakened. Crediting strategic gains achieved with the United States in removing existential threats. The Prime Minister noted that Iran is currently refraining from attacking Israel because it understands the consequences. But warned that Tehran could still miscalculate. Do not try us. He urged adversaries while praising IDF soldiers and security services for continuing to target terrorists on multiple fronts. Netanyahu identified the toppling of the Iranian regime
as a foremost remaining mission, describing the government as increasingly vulnerable and fighting for its life. In parallel developments concerning regional tensions, reports indicate that US special forces concluded a four-month covert mission to clear minds in the state of Hormuz. According to the Financial Times, as reported by JPOST.COM, the operation by US Navy SEALS aimed to make the vital waterway safer for commercial vessels, which had largely avoided it following US Iran hostilities. Iran has stated it placed minds in international and amani waters. The International Maritime Organization had estimated roughly 80 minds were deployed along important shipping routes. The covert operation took place amid ongoing exchanges of strikes between the US and Iran. While US President Donald Trump announced last week that all minds in the straits international waters had been removed or destroyed, sources familiar with the mission express uncertainty about whether the entire strait of Hormuz has been cleared,
noting that the mere possibility of minds can leverage pressure and increase insurance costs. Turning to Gaza, Jard Kushner stated on Sunday that the United States is only now beginning to grasp the staggering scale of the enclave's militarization. Speaking in Kiev, Kushner warned that dismantling the weapons and armed infrastructure across Gaza will be an enormous challenge. He revealed that Washington had worked with Hamas for over four months and that the group signed an agreement committing to demilitarization. Kushner stressed that civilian government cannot take hold while Gaza remains, flooded with weapons, acknowledging that while Washington and Jerusalem agree on the ultimate goal for Gaza, there is friction over how to achieve it. He attributed some of these difficulties to Israeli politics. In Europe, the continent's leading rabbinical organization is urging governments to move beyond physical security measures and confront the ideological and financial networks, fueling escalating antisemitic violence. The conference of European rabbis unveiled a seven-point manifesto in Brussels.
President Chief Rabbi Pinchers Goldschmidt warned that nearly every Jewish school in Synagogue in Europe sits behind guards, steel barriers and concrete blocks. A reality he described as not normal for children. The plan calls for cutting extremist funding, cracking down on clerics who incite hatred, closing institutions that promote violence and implementing tougher actions against online radicalization and antisemitic intimidation. The rabbis contend that a Europe unable to protect its Jews cannot credibly claim to defend democracy. Domestically, Israel faces a concerning trend in its healthcare sector. The Jerusalem Post reports that Israel is losing doctors at an alarming rate. Between 2023 and 2025, 1,370 Israeli doctors left the country for over a year, marking a 94% increase compared to a decade prior. After accounting for returning physicians, Israel recorded a net loss of 500 and nine doctors in 2023 and 2024,
which is roughly five times the annual average of the previous decade. The report urges policymakers to identify reasons for doctors leaving and improve working conditions, while also suggesting an expansion of efforts to recruit more Jewish doctors from around the world through programs like Nefesh, Binefesh, which aims to facilitate a Leah for physicians.
