You're listening to Israel Today ongoing war report, I'm Noah Levi. Escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz marked a significant development today. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, claimed to have targeted three oil tankers and three US-affiliated ships in the waterway. The IRGC stated this action was retaliation for earlier US strikes on three Iranian oil tankers. US Central Command, or SENTCOM, has confirmed the US strikes on the Iranian oil tankers, but has not yet confirmed the IRGC's claims regarding attacks on US-affiliated vessels. According to SENTCOM, the US strikes were carried out after Iran's IRGC launched ballistic missiles at two US Navy ships. Admiral Brad Cooper, head of SENTCOM, stated, let the message to the IRGC be clear. If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost, taking out
three of yours. Iran's military command warned of intensified strikes against US military vessels in the region. In southern Lebanon, Israeli strikes and explosions were reported across several areas today. With Al-Manswari identified as one of the most heavily targeted locations, Israeli artillery shelling targeted areas near Mais al-Jabal, Yaita and Batelif, and a large explosion was reported in Mais al-Jabal itself. Explosions also occurred in Barney Hayan, Arnaun and Kunine, with two reported in Zotar al-Shakir. Israeli forces were also documented planting explosives in homes in Mais al-Jabal. In Gaza, an Israeli airstrike targeted an area in eastern Gaza city, northern Gaza. Officers in the Syrian area reported identifying suspects and conducting artillery warning fire to remove a threat, stating their forces were unharmed. In security news, a border guard fighter, Sergeant Second Class David Hoyeramni, 20, was killed in a shooting incident in Netanyah earlier this evening, an unidentified suspect reportedly
opened fire on a police unit and was neutralized by officers at the scene. No injuries were reported among the police officers, and the circumstances of the case are under investigation. Regarding antisemitism, an 80-year-old Israeli woman was attacked overnight at a hotel in Paris. The Israeli foreign ministry is actively involved, providing assistance and maintaining contact with the victim and her family, while local authorities handle the case. The motivation for the attack remains unconfirmed. There was also a significant diplomatic exchange concerning Gaza. Israel's foreign ministry, and US ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee criticized Britain's foreign secretary Ed Miliband over remarks he made regarding conditions in Gaza. Specifically allegations of blocked medicines. Miliband had expressed concern about children dying while waiting for vital treatment. Israel's foreign ministry responded, accusing him of spreading false information and stating that no medicines are being blocked, providing figures for medical supplies that have entered
Gaza. Huckabee supported Israel's position, remarking on the situation. Turning to domestic politics, opposition leader Yeh Lapid revealed the yes-attied party's slate for the upcoming October 27 election. The party will run on a joint ticket with Naftali Bennett's B Yatchad, with MK Merov Benari at the number two spot, followed by Major General Reserve Noam Tiban. Women hold several key positions on the slate. Separately, the Lecude Secretaryate is scheduled to convene to approve reserved placements on the party list, designated by party leader Benjamin Netanyahu. In a separate domestic development, an article by a late IDF Brigadier General has been recast to support Prime Minister Netanyahu's claim that security chiefs hid warnings before October 7. However, reports indicate that Sara Netanyahu's remarks concerning Yeh Gollan have created conflicting narratives within the family's accounts. On the economic front, the first representative office of the Israel Chamber of Commerce
was inaugurated in Banyalukha, Republika Srupskar, marking a significant expansion of economic ties. Diaspora Affairs Minister Amikai chickly attended the opening, and Republika Srupskar, President Milo Reddoddick, expressed a strong desire to elevate relations with Israel.
