Hi, this is Dave Roberts. Heading into summer without a medical emergency kit, that's a risk. Summer colds can linger and getting sick on vacation can derail everything. That's why everyone needs a medical emergency kit. It includes Dr. prescribed medications to treat common and serious illnesses. So if you wake up sick, at home or on the road, you already have what you need. It's like having an urgent care and pharmacy at home. Say $45 with code blue at urgentcarekit.com slash blue urgent care kit.com slash blue. You're listening to Israel today ongoing war report. I'm Noah Levi. We have critical updates tonight from across the region and at home. Turning first to Gaza, IDF forces operating near the Northern Gaza border were targeted by fire around 2 a.m. The IDF spokesperson has characterized this as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement. In response, the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, hitting targets in the Shugia neighborhood of eastern Gaza City, according to Gaza sources.
In Jerusalem, border guard forces neutralized a 33-year-old East Jerusalem resident who attempted a stabbing attack near Damascus Gate in the old city early this morning. Around 3.45 a.m. No Israeli forces were injured in the incident. Meanwhile, large crowds gathered for Selicot prayers. Reports indicate that over half a million people attended prayers at the Western Wall since the beginning of Elal. Palestinian channels also reported that over 50,000 individuals participated in prayers and rituals at the Al-Burak Wall Plaza. The Times of Israel reports that four new arrests were made on suspicion of settler violence, including an IDF conscript. This follows a previous arrest of a 19-year-old for involvement in violence in Kusra. On the economic and infrastructure front, JPOST.com reports an incident that exposed systemic weaknesses. Five major Mediterranean desalination plants went offline earlier this week, due to unusually high seawater turbidity, apparently caused by microelgy.
While residential water supplies were maintained, the event led to reduced non-essential consumption and temporary cuts to agricultural plants. The incident highlights the need to treat water, electricity, food and shelters, as matters of national security. According to the report, which notes that a single natural event was enough to interrupt several critical facilities at once. Raising questions about Israel's preparedness for multiple system failures. In domestic politics, Mariv's latest election poll shows shifts in the political landscape. An alliance between Bates-R-L-Smotrich's religious Zionist party and Moche-Faglin-Zehut, along with the Ofa-Winterled People of Israel party, has pushed them above the electoral threshold, potentially boosting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition. The poll also indicates a narrowing gap in preference for Prime Minister between Gadi Eisenkot and Benjamin Netanyahu. Additionally, a significant partisan split was revealed in a poll on the inside betrayal conspiracy concerning October 7.
With coalition voters more likely to believe such an event occurred than opposition voters. In international policy news, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bassant announced that the European Union has officially joined the economic isolation campaign against Iran. The US has expressed appreciation for the EU's firm stance and quick joining. In other news, a police operation in Nazareth following four murders within 24 hours resulted in the arrest of 10 suspects and the seizure of a handgun, a grain aid and other munitions. Separately a shooting incident occurred in the lobby of a residential building in Herzliya with no physical injuries reported.
