Life can feel overwhelming, but all my podcasts from the heart with Rachel Brayton were in it together. Every Friday a new episode brings you a new story with topics on motherhood, wellness, self-love and more. Listen to From the Heart with Rachel Brayton wherever you get your podcasts. You know what that sounds like to me? What does that sound like? That sounds like a hall of fame and welcome back. It's a midday show. Hugh Douglas, Joe Julia, you guys with us, 215-592-94. We'll get back to your phone calls on Bryce. It'll last time make you feel better. And of course the AJ situation, are you like Hugh Douglas and you need to hear AJ say? Or do you just believe what's obvious that AJ doesn't want to be here anymore?

So all your phone calls, that Elliott will join us at noon, but here we played that classic cut of you sacking Sean King in the wildcard game against the box because I'm looking at a list here of 2026 nominees for the Philadelphia sports hall of fame, the ballot. And I got the email a couple of days ago because I am on the voting committee here, which I'm very biased, obviously on this one, and I am looking at nominees. I think there are, let me look, 3, 6, it looks like 20 nominees and then there are 20 more heritage nominees, which I think are a little bit more of like a veterans committee type of thing, but 20 nominees on the ballot this year, and I see the name Hugh Douglas nominated for the 2026 Philadelphia sports hall of fame. So before we start campaigning here, Hugh, your reaction to being on the ballot, I believe for a second straight year, so I got dress up. Yeah, I'm planning a red carpet show from the event on November 5th, I'm about dressing up, though, I've gotten, you know, I've, look at the induct you, I mean, who's going to stop you, just wear whatever you want in the whole of them, you know, they're not going to unvote you in my mom probably going like, you know, she probably have a fit. And then you know, my ex wife probably has something to say about that.

I got a close, you got to put some nice on, you know, they would, they would shame me, they would close shame me, it was a few people that were close shame. So I got, I got to be unbecoming of a whole thing, I mean, I, you know, So your first reaction of being a Philadelphia sports hall of fame nominee is do I have to get dressed up? Yeah. Okay. I mean, I'm, I don't like, I don't like wearing clothes like that. They're restrictive. You're not starting our campaign to get you inducted. I know I, you know, what's funny? And I noticed going to sound funny when I say it, I mean, it's not funny when I'm, I'm presented to you. I have anxiety around a whole bunch of people, a little bit, a little bit. And so the, the thought of being in a situation like that, where I would have to actually speak to people, it's, it's a little intimidating. You do it every day. You know what, it's funny, but it's, it's different because I do it behind his microphone and I don't see anybody's face. That's true. It's different when you have to sit there. Yeah. And you have all these focus these nice ass clothes on and you sitting up there, you talking to them and you have to say some point. You know, if it's a different

atmosphere, you know what I mean? Well, that is true. But I look, we could, I think we can help you write the speech on the air. That could be something we do. I got to write. I got to have a speech. Well, if you're good doctor to the hall of fame, Philadelphia sports hall of fame, that's a big deal. We could judge you be to your speech. Yeah. You can do a lot of different ways that you can practice it on the air. I think people would love to hear that because obviously not everyone listen to us gets to go to this event, right? So that can be part of it. There's that one thing that that tongue tie Doug was dude. You know, you'd be fine. You'd be fine. We got crap, peck, peck, peck. I'm good. Hey, Kyle. I'm good in spurtless spurt, you know, but when you start talking about command in the room, is that that's right? Eminominium. Eminominium. Well, I'm looking at the ballot here. And so when I, when I first received the ballot a couple of days ago, I thought you were a lock. And I still think you're going to make it. And we're going to push for you to make it. And everyone out there listening, please tell everyone you know that he was a hall of fame nominate. So get the word out there to kind of push the people that have the votes to actually vote for him. But Kyle, the more I look at it, I, I think you will get in. But it's a pretty star studded ballot. Yeah. Carly Lloyd is on here. Yeah. We also have two other great

Eagles. I'm a three, John Runyon and LaShon McCoy and Tray. Big though. Tray. Yes. They're all on here. All right. You Jimmy Linum's awesome about Johnny Goodrose on the ballot. Obviously, that I think. Yeah, it's going to be in Jimmy Linum belongs in. So we'll see. We got to help you get in. I'm going to get messy real quick. Okay. Rank these in terms of belonging in the Phillies for its hall of fame. Hugh Douglas, John Runyon, Tray Thomas. I, you know what? Kyle, you don't have to because I will for you. Like I remember, like I was here when, you know, we had, uh, who's it Cooper? Uh, the office alarm, the tackles. We had some bad tackles. Oh, before running and trade on it. Like, yeah, tremendous amount of respect for Tray and running. It used to be Tray, like a drum every day, but put him in, like, if Tray goes in, it's like I'm going in because I groomed him and I molded him by beating hit the brakes off him every day at practice and making him the man that he was in order to get to all fame. So if Tray gets in, which I think he will and John running for that matter, then it's like I'm going

in. So I'm, I'm, I'm room for Tray because I, I, I raised him. So that's kind of like Tray's like my child. So it's like, you know, I, I would be a proud father if, if Tray goes into it all the thing. All right. So you're asking me to rank those three, Tray, John, Runyon, and Hugh Douglas is, we, we left Lushon out because Lushon, obviously, super high level player. Okay. He also hasn't aged out really yet. He has not. He was aged out. Yeah. I'm, I'm aged. All right. Here's my time is hurting you. Well, but I actually think you had something on the side that the other guys do not. Hugh, you have a second life, a second in Philadelphia sports. You, you are part of the midday show on WIP. Like now, now Tray had, Tray did radio for a while. I was, Tray had at the second career also in the media too. So he had that, but he's not doing that currently. You have that. John Runyon didn't do that as much. He went to the league office. He went into politics and the league office thing, right? Now, now those guys played here longer than you. So they have a little bit of extra time playing in the city. They were both here.

Nine years. You weren't here quite that long. But I think the, I think the midday show and, and Hugh is a takesman now. Now, some of your takes might hurt you like defense. Lugs, you're not a necessity. That's fired. That's fine. That's going to help you in Philadelphia. But I actually think your second act as a talk show host might give me and give me open hot. Yeah. But here, we can give yourself a boost by cooking up another really fire famous take. Or an inside scoop. I mean, you need to put, I think you need to put your name back into salience so that, so that like you're just on people's minds when they're doing the voting. You know what? You know what? I remember you. He's the, he's a dope that said this, you know what though? It, because you know, it, there's a, there's a strong possibility that I'll age out. But you know, one that I will not age out for, because there's a lot of old people on the wall right now. The other guy, you know, you know, I'm going here, right? Because when you look at, you look at that wall, it's some dinosaurs on that wall. Well, the whole family was just created a few years ago. But it's just some dinosaurs. When you look at it, it's some, some old ass individual, you calling your shot, the W.

Oh, you called my shot for the whole thing. You're going to be it. I don't know if I'm, like the one that I'm shooting for is the WIP Hall of Fame. Cause if I do that, that means that I have never worked a day in my life. You know what I mean? And gotten the hall of fame because I, I, everything that I've done in my illustrious career, I love doing working at McDonald's. Boom. It probably won't be in the McDonald's hall. I think for us in the bag is going to get even in the whole thing. I'm like, you know, shot and I'll hurt you. But yeah, the WIP Hall of Fame, that's the one I'm shooting for. So I do, I'm looking, so they have a, when the ballot went out, part of the email was they have a little bio on all of the candidates. So it tells you like a little bit of that. Just in case people didn't know who they were. What, so they do have as the, as the final little bullet point on Hugh Douglas's candidacy, current 94 WIP midday show co-hosts since 2023. It's, it's part of your resume. It's part of my, it's, it's in my lexicon. It is. Well, look, when the WIP Hall of Fame considers you, we'll just have to present them some evidence. You came back from break yesterday. Oh, no, you know what?

Before it's ready, you know, why are you trying to tarnish my legacy? You're the one that doesn't want to get dressed up for the event. I don't. And then it was how you open the shelf and try to recalibrate what their offenses, what their quarterback is. And, and who are the young players are going to pay for the future? Here, it doesn't feel like an all in season to me that the Eagles are setting up. And it feels to me like we're in its transition. Where do you come down on what they've done? And, and kind of what they're telling us? No. No, that's the Hall of Fame right there, ladies gentlemen. That's not so bad. When you say that, that was bad. That was bad. When you're giving your Hall of Fame speech, I'm like, who your thoughts on getting into the Hall of Fame? Huh? All right. The campaign is underway to get you in the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. I want to do a live show, Red Carpet Show on November 5th before the event. He's got to get in this year. This is the year. By the way, I just one more thing on the bio. You they they I'll ever put this together to do a good job like spinning to make everyone of your stats look better. Well, this is my you know, I've never heard this put this

way before because we know Hugh is sick stall time and eagle sacks, right? Which is great. Do you know your second all time in sacks per game as an eagle? I didn't know that. Behind only Reggie. I did not know that. That's a hell of a stat. You should use that one more. Oh, second behind sacks per game sacks per game. Like and considering the number of games like we know we talk about Brandon has more sacks to you. He also played a million more games as an eagle for considering the number of games you played. You're second all time in sacks per game. That's pretty darn good. I didn't even know that. They made that up. That's not a big deal at all. Pooey. How long is it? How long it's two years is that an argument? Well, I'm second sacks per game sacks. Same energy for Bryce. What what started a show for it? Yeah. Oh, that's true. Ain't nothing show for it. I got a run-up ring. I got the innocent Jefferson ring. That's the Garrett Blunt term today. Loser. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That that hurts every time I hear him tell me on that it hurt. Now I would say this. I think you are you're going to be in this year. I don't think it's helping your candidacy. How much you have apologized for AJ and

Rip Rice Harper. That's not helping. I apologize. I just feel in my spirit that he's going to be here. I really do. I'd vote you in, buddy. I mean, I appreciate it, man. I mean, I mean, but I don't know if I'm going to get dressed up though. Well, that's fine. Yeah. I might wear a sweat suit. A nice one. Like a nice sweat suit to the like a ball of fame. Maybe like the one. Like the one. Because since Jason Kelsey's gotten a little small, let me see if I get his green liberal or sweat suit and some of those boots. Did you see shout out to Jason Kelsey? He has golf boots. Did y'all see those? He has like golf, good boots that like he has golf boots, which is really on brand. Are you going to wear that? No, I'm not going to do. Okay. Not going to do that. But I, I, I, I want to be lower outfit because he probably can't wear it anymore. He's a slim down. All right. So Hugh Douglas, a nominee for the Philadelphia sports hall of fame. The campaign to get him in starts now. And we should put up a polls. Does Hugh Douglas belong in the Philadelphia sports hall of fame? Yes. Oh, you know how that pose going to go. You got to get a lot of votes. Yeah, I'm going to get, but I'm going to get more now. You get a lot of yeses.

I mean, you get mostly yeses now. I mean, like when we talk Philly sports hall of fame, they're going to remember your playing career. Yeah. That time. No, anyone will be like, who? What would you be playing? It is Twitter. Yeah. They'll ignore your bad on airtakes because you got a lot of sacks. Second, sacks per game. Ever. I never, I've never heard of that one. I'd take it. Kyle's right. They did make that set up. But it's a good one. In a minute. That means, that means that I was efficient. Yes. Because when you talk about that, that, that, that, that, you know, got drafted by the Eagles. I need to get drafted by the Eagles, but I was efficient. So I believe Joe to cameras, like the MC of this thing. And if you are inducted, I need him to use that stat when he introduced you. Second, in sacks per game, all time is an equal only, no, but you got to say it, like only behind red. Yeah, cause that puts them at that. That, that, that, that, some elf to put some sauce on it. It's kind of like a, it reminds me of like an Elliott tweet. Yes. Like, it's a spin. It's a spin. It's like a fast for home run. Yeah. I'll take that. I'll take it. It's great. All right. Two, one, five, five, nine, two, nine, four,

nine. For you to react to all this, you hall of fame. And of course, Bryce Harper, the last time I make you feel better and the AJ Brown thing, do you need to hear him say it? Because he over here, whatever that means, he doesn't want to acknowledge what's so obvious, which is the guy that doesn't want to be here. She told me she didn't want to be with me. But she's, she's showing you, she's showing you, she's, she's giving the good to somebody. Yeah. She's at the motel with another guy. I don't know how to spend that to the AJ thing, but sure. Well, AJ was winking at dudes on the Australian men podcast. The way you say, when you say like that, just sound. That's what he was doing. He not winking to dudes on the dudes podcast. It's raining that vodka. We, we are. And it was a week. Yep. It was, it was uncomfortable. But until I see it, I'm giggling the joke. All right. Let's go to Aaron and San Diego. What's up, Aaron? Good morning, Philadelphia. Good morning, Aaron. So she, I've got a proposal for you. What's that? I know we're doing the bracketed. I'm Sarah attorney. And I'm Courtney Nicole. We're the hosts of the

Listen to and follow the final hours available now wherever you get your podcasts. Puse, I think I'm starting to feel like we should probably do a bracket of Joe Giulio's. And my first entry would be a participation trophy, a Giulio. I, I don't quite understand these Bryce Harper column elitist, column lobbyist, column fanboys and fan girls. But you're going to tell me after one hit, the guy is back and he's, he's ready for the season. We're ready to rock and roll. We're going to make a run to what I said is I feel better about that. I never said rock and roll. I never said make a run. I said, I feel better.

I heard. I hope you say we will make a lot. No, I didn't. He said that. Giulio, Giulio. Yes. You, you keep supporting this guy. Why would I not support Bryce Harper? Because the fact remains that Aaron Nola after everything is said and done has done more for team USA than Bryce Harper did. He hit the home run to tie the finale last night. They lost the game. What doesn't matter? What doesn't matter? I just, I'm going to jump. How do we got in here with sports where nothing matters besides the win and loss? Like how a player plays is only in the context of if you win and lose. What are we doing? What happened? What happened to the Philadelphia fan that I used to know from from the past where they called somebody when somebody was struggling, they called them on it. But that's what I did. That's what I did before yesterday and then he played well yesterday and I'm happy. I got, I'm literally doing what you're asking. The result of the game is independent of that. Get, get ready for a season of us waiting for Bryce Harper to,

to be at that MVP level where he just continues to, to let us down, you know, in, in the big moments, hold on, hold on. How often is Bryce Harper let the Phillies down in the biggest moments? What are you talking about? I would say the last five season, the last five season playoff runs. He let us down in the world series. Then he let us down in the NLCS. Then he let us down in the, a divisional series. And I think last year it was the, what a word, how far do they get to the world? How did they get to the world series? How do they get there? It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. No. You are such a bozo dude. Oh my goodness. Bozo is unrated. It is crazy Kyle. And I'm going to tell you something Kyle, you got 110 pounds pissed off Filipina. And when we come to Philadelphia and sit on the show, she wants a piece of you. Well, I can probably take her. She's 110 pounds. But that didn't sound right,

get ready. Yeah. Yeah. He's bringing it. I'm not too worried. I just don't understand the logic. Harper, it's a big home run last night. And we're ripping him for not hitting in the world series four years ago. What the hell are we doing? Because we're, we've got Bryce Harper for tea. We got seven more years of this, dude. We got seven more years of excruciating my life. And my living in a different universe has he not been one of the better players in the league since he got here. What are we doing? He's on a decline. His age has gotten gotten up to him. He's got a violent swing that he cannot let it go. He cannot adapt to. He's getting older. And he can't continue to put that strain on his back. He's going to continue to get hurt. And here is my wild prediction this year that one Nick Castellanos is going to have more home runs than Bryce Harper. You are a fool. Constellanos. A fool. He's not even going to play everything. He's not even going to play every day in San Diego. It doesn't matter. He'll still have

more home runs because it's basically you saying he's going to fall off. He's trying to say Bryce by the fall off. Bryce is going to be his head against the wall trying to reinvent his younger years. He's not going to be able to do it. He's going to be out a good portion of the season because the injuries are going to get a key to catch up to him. And ask for today's gentleman later on today. Yes. I got one thing to say. What do you got? S R I T Z Fritz. Fritz. Fritz. Let's go to your Fritz. All right, Aaron. Appreciate the phone call. It's bad news for Fritz that that he's team Fritz. Bad news for Jack that you got Aaron and San Diego on your side. Yeah. The guy can't see. What is he talking about? The irony of him saying what happened to my city is that we never used to win anything. So like we actually I think winning actually sort of ruined how we view individual performances teams. Like now all of a sudden we're we're championship town USA. We're not by the way. Some of our most beloved teams in the city didn't win anything.

I would argue almost the moment. Maybe the beloved teams. Some of three or one most beloved players in the city never won anything. Like what are what what has happened? It's insane. Well, I mostly blame Hugh for all this. You know what? I blame Jalen Hertz. Yeah, if I went in the championship, that's what it did. I just fall I feel you. I pick up what you put down. But I feel I feel this is this is why a lot of people feel this way. It's because it feels like we've seen the best of Bryce Harper and it's just getting worse. Like, but that's that could be true. Yeah. That that probably is true. I mean, that's just business and that just age and it and it feels like the moment that we had that we could have won a World Series kind of past. It may have. Yeah, maybe. But again, is that all here or is that the family's fall too? Well, it's I will say this. He has been the face of the Phillies and I would say part of the part of his he is because he was playing GM for a couple years. Like like that's I think that's what like some people feel this like that was that he was playing GM for some years and now we're here. We haven't gotten

better guys and we're counting which I'm excited about the young guys. But our biggest play was bringing up the young guys and and putting who who do we put the middle of the other other brain trust? Who's the young guy? We put the middle of the brain trust to like we put them between Harper and Schwarber. Eight in a million and to get him ready to go this year. Like because we need him. We need that speed. We need that that small ball player Crawford boy. No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Both of their lockers were near those. Yeah, I knew what you're talking about. Yeah, but but we put him in the lineup. Let's let I guess for me more not more so not in every I listen to what's being said. And their biggest thing with him is his speed and his his ability to put the ball on the bat and try to lick some stuff out because we didn't have that last year. And the fact that we're bringing back the chief vibes officer. Wow. Because because we don't have depth. Yeah. Well, that's the problem. We don't have depth. Yeah. But you're supposed to

feel good about it because you know, Bryce Harper is is you know, he's he's here. No, I don't feel any different about the Phillies after last night. I feel better about Bryce. I watched it and I felt good watching him hit that. It's the first time in a while I've seen Bryce do something like that. I felt better. Also, I just need to say this because we our brains are so like mush in this city right now. We can't even think straight. We'll I'm going to say something that's a fact and people are not going to like it because it doesn't. It's going to be a fence. Well, it's going to not going to align with the nonsense that we say. We say nonsense. Let's go. Like this. Relative to how they play in the regular season, Bryce Harper has been a better postseason performer than Jalen Hertz. Those are the facts. Bryce Harper's numbers are better in the playoffs than they are in the regular season. Jalen Hertz's numbers are not better in the playoffs. But they got into bot. I give a fact and you need to know, but here's the difference. We talk all Jalen playoff rise or not. Actually, it's not a rating slower in the playoffs. Jalen has been a been a two Super Bowl. No, no, no, no, no, no, we're not going to do that. No, we always have done this. No, we never changed. Y'all always done that. No, everyone. No, but that's what that's where the

goal post has been. That's where it will be. Teams win. Jalen has gotten to the promised land twice and brought us home time. Eagles have. Jalen had Eagles have. Who's quarterback? Who's what? Who's quarterback? Jalen Hertz, the quarterback brought us to the problem for the ride you along for the ride. Yes, he was. Not both of those games. In the two, and absolutely, absolutely in the second game. No, and Brian million percent in the second game. We talk about. Playoff. Rise your Bryce Harper. Playoff the same Jalen Hertz. What happened? OK, what happened at Bellam in the bank? Happened at Bellam in the bank. He hit the full list of the World Series. OK, and then what happened in the World Series? They lost to a team that was way better. Way better. He won a hundred and four games. We cannot do baseball player win lost. No, we can't. Yes, we can. No, we can't. Because my friend. You know why we can't. You know why we can't. You know why we can't. You know why we can't. We can't. We can't. We can't. Jalen Hertz was the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles. That was superbowl. Very convenient for him. And just like Sam Donnell was the quarterback of the Seattle. See, I don't see. He was very convenient for him. No, it was the quarterback. Just like

Patrick Mont. We talk about how great Patrick Montenegro is. He is. He didn't win it by himself. He didn't win it by himself, though. He didn't win it by himself. Because team's win. But we all could see that the pool. We all could see that Patrick has a way bigger reason why the chiefs win. Then Jalen does. The bottom line is this. The bottom line is this. And I know y'all not going to like this. And it's going to probably irritate both of y'all. But but I'm here for irritation today. I can't. I can't tell. Take the hall of fame away. Can't paint over. All right, we'll figure it out later. Two and five. Two and five, five, nine, two, 94. The paint is over. I like this space that I'm in today. This feels it feels great. It feels I'm irritating the hell out of both of y'all. Don't vote for you. Don't vote for it. We'll we have talked to Elliott come up this segment. I'm sure they're proud of it. It was brought to you by mine. He gets your vehicle ready for spring. Brakes, tires, batteries, a complete auto care by trusted local experts. Mineke doing car care right. All right, Elliott. He will join us next. His take on all of this is you belonging the Philadelphia sports hall of fame, the AJ situation. And I'm curious what Elliott thinks of the Hollywood brown

signing and how the Waddle trade yesterday impacts the Eagles plus price armor. It's all coming up. Elliott next your phone calls. We will also have the daily market one o'clock excited for today's and we'll give you our official pick on Joeverse Jack later in the show. What is the midday show sports radio 94 WIP.
