Iran Soccer Team: 3 More Leave Australia

This leaves just three out of the original seven who had accepted humanitarian visas to stay down under. Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke confirmed the departure in a statement over the weekend. The team came to Australia last month for the Women's Asian Cup. Those rows when conflict broke out in the Middle East on February 28th. Before the rest of the group flew to Malaysia, a March 9th, six players and one support staffer took up the visa offers. Australian Iranian groups and even former U.S. President Donald Trump pushed for the government to help the women stay. Now with most heading back, the focus shifts to those still here and the team's next steps. Iran's Toss Them News Agency celebrated the latest three to leave two players and the support staff as heading into the warm embrace of family and homeland.
