In Canada, it's March 20th. Here's what is happening. Tensions in the Iran conflict remained sky high as an Iranian general was killed in an airstrike just after he boasted that the country could still. Produced missiles despite heavy attacks. General Ali Muhammad Na'ini of the Revolutionary Guard made the claim to push back against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu statement that Iran's missile capabilities were destroyed. He also predicted the war would drag on until the enemy was worn out. Fighting spilled over into Gulf states on Friday, with air defenses in Dubai intercepting incoming fire amid loud explosions. Bahrain reported a warehouse fire from falling strafnal, while firefighters rushed to contain it. Saudi Arabia downed several Iranian drones aimed at its oil-rich eastern region. Kuwait faced another hit too, as drones struck the Meena al-Ahmadi oil refinery, igniting fires in multiple units, but causing no injuries. Iranian state media confirmed the strike without taking credit.
Iranians tried to celebrate the Persian New Year, or Nauras, early Friday morning, even as Israeli strikes pounded Tehran. This came right after a barrage of more than a dozen Iranian missiles targeted Israel the day before. The back-and-forth escalates with Iran now hitting energy sites in retaliation for Israel's bombing of its major South Paa's gasfield earlier in the bay, weak, leaving the region on edge for what comes next.
