Iowa State Basketball Hires Allan Hanson as Assistant Coach

0:00On April 24, Iowa Statemen's basketball head coach TJ Otsilberger just brought on Alan Hansen as a new assistant coach starting right away. Otsilberger is pumped about Hansen, calling him a fierce competitor and winner who will boost the young players and sharpen their point guards while, strengthening that pressure defense. Hansen built his rep as a player at Milwaukee, suiting up for four years from 2004 to 2008, with 57 starts in one. He entered 14 games during the program's best stretch ever, then included back-to-back horizonly titles, a sweet 16 run in 2005, and an NCAA second round trip the next year, plus upsets. Overranked squads. Coming off a strong 2025-26 season at Bradley with a 21-13 record, conference runner-up spot and NIT birth, Hansen now joins Iowa State to keep building winners.
