About this episode
Investing, Incentives, and Information
There is a difference between Investing and Trading as well as between Price and Value. We cover a lot of great lessons from the Rule Symposium, including about gold, silver, and mining. If you are measuring things with a rubber tape measure, you will end up with bad measurements. That is what happens when people are measuring the cost of items in dollars. We talk about how using gold instead of the dollar can give you much better information. The government and the media are great at distracting you with irrelevant information. You need to be able to discern what is important and what they are trying to distract you from seeing. We also talk about how bad incentives can encourage even good people to do things poorly. Everyone can look like a genius in a bull market. You need to understand an investment before you put money into it. Use these lessons to make your world a better place!
