About this episode
The Deep acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
I grew up being taught to sing the Australian anthem with pride. To celebrate Australia Day with a bbq and drinks! But only in the past few years have I understood what Australia Day aka Invasion Day really means for our First Nations people. I’m confused how we can ignore how painful this day is for so many. I’m disappointed at how little people know or care. So I needed to dedicate an episode to this day with a brilliant woman by the name of AJ, who is passionate about deconstructing Australia Day.
