About this episode
2000s Hollywood: the bright lights for dreamers who want to become famous. Michael Gargiulo made his name in another way – as a brutal murderer with no mercy. Breaking into their safe havens - their homes - he butchered his victims and then moved to a new location in Tinsel Town to find his next target, all while evading capture from detectives who were trying to hunt him down.

I'm criminal psychologist Dr. Michelle Ward, and this is season nine of Mind of a Monster, the Hollywood Ripper. This guy is manipulating people either charms them because he needs them to do something or he stalks them because he's going to kill them. I don't think he is aroused by the women. I think he's aroused by the kill. I open the door and she is on the landing covered in blood and blue in the face. Under the shimmering lights of Hollywood in the 2000s, Michael Garjulo stalked his female neighbors, watching and waiting for the perfect time to strike. He stabbed two women to death and tried to kill a third in acts of unspeakable brutality. She was stabbed and I mean blitchard almost 50 times in her throat was cut. The attack on her was so vicious, so callous, that it almost like it was like a personal thing. He's so confident that she's not going to scream. He's so confident in his ability to brutally
murder somebody. The jury was shown the photos from her apartment and it was just covered in blood. What drove Michael Garjulo's rage-filled attacks? For a first for me on the Mind of a Monster series, I'm investigating a serial case that as of today isn't over. He's a waiting trial for another murder. These killings in Los Angeles wouldn't have happened if he was in prison in Illinois. Listen to Mind of a Monster, the Hollywood Ripper, wherever you get your podcasts.
