0:00Good morning everybody welcome to another show this is John Scott I appreciate you joining us here today We got one of the greatest ever do it Guy I grew up watching I was a huge Bruins fan when I was a kid Obviously Ray Bork was my number one guy, but his I guess bodyguard His his robin to his Batman is joining the show today Jay Miller all the way from Boston In the back. Believe it or not I've watched your career a little bit not great because I when I left hockey I left hockey Completely, but I know who you are

1:01You're a big good dude. I think the biggest one I had ever fight was Dave Browne he was six six But six eight might be out of my reach get it I think you would you would do fine with me. I wasn't too tough But I appreciate your watch my career you mentioned and this is something it's not even on my agenda here We talked earlier on the phone and now you just mentioned it again that you just unplugged from hockey when you retired Was that by design like what what was the reasons for that? Well, let's go back very Melrose god rest the soul. Yeah Will be become very good friends Over the last I left hockey I took the shirt off my own back in LA protecting threats They just signed me for a long term contract and they the time I I didn't realize it, but I was losing my punch. Let's say for a sake of augur And I talked to my wife about it and I discussed it that was more of a

2:04mutual agreement between us and I said you know what honey they're gonna pay me a hundred percent of my contract I have three years left I think it's time and she said well, it's up to you. You know we made a decision. We had already started our couple companies that we had She was in our end, but she comes from the premium family and We were you know she did very well in her life and we were very young I've been now 39 years married, but we decided that it was time and I knew it was time A lot of players don't then I'm not saying this in a bad way don't know when to quit Well, I never knew I was gonna be there anyway You know, I never knew I was gonna play 400 and god knows 80 games Um, I did not know that at the time. I thought one game was enough But ended up having a long career and to answer your question I just knew it was time and belly morose god rest and soul came in And he said to me we we can use you, but

3:06We have another kid Warren Rikle coming in. I said well, he's not a heavier whatever He says well, you know, he says we can trade you back to Boston if you'd like to go. They want you And I said you know what I'd be great, but I already sitting in one of double depth and anybody in the NHL those with double dip acres You know signing a new contract with Boston. I want to just sign I was the highest paid Topgur say tough guy because I don't like the word going I was the highest paid tough guy at the time I think they gave me a million two for three years was actually crests that gave you know, you know He was the one that advocated for me Bruce McNaw was going to jail and I you know, he was having that little issue with taxidermakers Yeah, the little He ended up with credits talked to the NHL says pay him so I was financially fine at the time I had never I always rented never bought anything because that's funny because that's what I do a little bit I restruck his but commercial estate resident and I rented the whole time So I never really lost in the recession in LA like a lot of the guys did when I was there

4:10in 92 93 but To go back to that I when I left the game I completely left the game I complete I've been offered to do some management errors issues some existing coaching college. I just never The game I never took it for granted, but then again I never was that kind of guy that it built my life around it. Yeah I was totally fine with Leaving now back to that I have an issue now. I'm selling my largest and biggest company now and that gave me a brand Which I had a brand back there. This one's got to hurt after 35 years I think I'm not willing to give it up yet and to go back on that I was willing to give up the shirt hockey because I knew I couldn't protect the guys the way I did And with that I ended up talking to Wayne talking to Ray talking to cam And they say it's up to you. You know you can get you you still got a couple years left in you

5:15But I said I don't I really don't know any tough guy out there will know That's what I was. Let's put it play it as simple. You know, I think I had I don't know 40 goals in my career a big deal um I was paid to protect the best and when I didn't think I could it It's like business I have today when I don't have my fastball when I know I'm slipping I have learned like my children I just I learned to walk away and take it as it is And the toughest part of was the locker room believe it or not John and you understand that more than you know I missed the locker room. I missed my buddies Tony Grenado, you know, I'm just named a few All the guys I played were the wonderful linen buyers. We just lost him um Stevie Casper Larry Robinson Paul coffee you know go down the hall of fame Luke robot. I Robert I miss them And I'm still in contact with quite a few of them because I live in a resort area down here and a lot of them come visit

6:18But other than that I didn't miss the game because one job to do And that was to protect and at the time I Get on the ice like Luke robots. I always said to me says I don't get a standing. Oh night come on the ice Is it be standing up every you know two minutes? I get on the ice once a period And they stand up and they know something was gonna happen But other than that I you know because I always had to be ready for the Dave Brown Joey kosher Rob prepare go down the list. Yeah So My question is yeah, well it takes a big man to be able to walk away Especially from when you have a contract on the table I haven't heard of many people doing that especially at your point your career 31 years old maybe 32 at the time Playing with Wayne Gretzky arguably you know on one of the better teams in the NHL What were their reactions because you mentioned Wayne was okay with it But you played with like I'm pretty good friends with Marty McSorley

7:21He was on your team too. We were the greatest guys ever. I forgot to mention him He's still a dear friend. I talked to him quite a bit. Yeah, but and I'll always tell you they'll tell you They they put him as the biggest tough guy there ever was it's so funny. He's in the top 10 every time He didn't like doing it and when I clean the LA. He says you're on kid You know what's up? I won't play and my wife was tough, but he just didn't want to do it I was doing it because the paycheck was very good. I enjoyed doing it In the middle of my career at the end of stop But to go just to go back on what you asked is um I left the game on my own terms now God rest his soul again Barry Meadow always said you know we can put Warren Reinkle in there or put him like We're going a different direction. I said great super. He wasn't training camp. I mean yeah I think it wasn't Pittsburgh playing against Montreal could I was like actually Michigan. I said sure. I'm good. I said And then the guys

8:22I heard they were black on man's when I was trading now Boston LA But LA I think the boys you know they respected the hell out of me. We had a big party in downtown LA and I knew it was time hanging on wasn't gonna do me any good Yeah, and I think I left a pretty good legacy of what I did you know, I didn't want to I didn't want to get beat anymore because that was gonna lose respect Not only the players that was playing against but my teammates you know like business. I don't like loser respect Yeah, the worst thing ever happened to me is losing a fight and I and you lose fights all the time in the NHL But it's the worst feeling ever going back to that bench from the penalty box When you lose the first job very fortunate and you can look back all the tapes That's why I get discussed about these top 10 fighters now. I might not be top 10, but I'm up there. Hell yeah, you are Absolutely well the fans don't think so the players do you know I know the players think I'm very They I'm very happy with the players thinking I don't care about the fans say in that category

9:24but um, yeah, I I can't remember ever getting beat up. Let's put it that way um You know the annals of hockey will tell you that you know, it was a punching bag take while I like to take five or six before I Started my Let them tie around like they're just getting warmed up Just getting warmed up And especially your age like Joey kosher. I've talked to him. He's here in Michigan So we're kind of close and like you the line-up she would face knighted and night out It's murderous row every city you go into like when I played You would have a team that was tough then you'd have three days off like three teams that had nobody So you had a break you guys were just every night Jay going into these buildings where you had two different tough guys John is funny that you say that that'll have on my because I have 80 80 HD and OCD But I it doesn't you want to notice it, but I that's why you interrupt like if I have it in my mind I'm gonna talk about interrupt. Yeah, my wife hates it

10:26But Gretz or Dave Brown and I use those two churches are the only two guys that have a set it and I use it quite a bit now in the last 10 years That tough guys never had a night off Mm-hmm A goal as you know the goal scorer could have three days of having an assist a goal Nobody's gonna talk about it. That's not a slump An NHL tough guy cannot have a day off Every team had one Every team you had to show up for Now whether it was six one or six ones of the loss You had to be ready all times not one coach ever put me on in the ice Telling me to go. Yeah, I knew when it was time and I'm sure you did Prove you just didn't know that guy still scares me this day But I think I'd be look at the tapes. I did I think I did very well. Yeah, yeah Dave Brown all that but go back to that You don't have a night off and you know Gretz can not score which never happens

11:31I'm a point in a game or let's take a like a uh A Ray Boer could have two nights off but his defensive play was so great nobody really noticed it I get pushed to the ice knock to the ice plating whatever the case may be I had to be ready every night at the study every night I went to bed every night knowing who I had to go to the spectrum Detrigial laws whatever the team it marches you off come back keep going down the line everybody had to Yeah, I'll be wait in a middleweight and the whole or Rick talkets which I call them in a way who was it Or a camnealy I know that if I didn't do the teaming but you're talking about guys that were It's very astute what they did. Yeah, more sneaky tough and you knew who they were I knew they were I tried to stay away from more than the heavyweight sir 6263 the jar of colics the christ nylons God Dave Browns the

12:32Whoever the case may be Those sneaky guys and never in my quad I camnealy Joey kosher. Yeah, I never fought tight. Don't me. I don't know You know I never really a Ben Wilson was a nutback I played against Semenco at the end of his career. I played against tiger the end of his career But I respected them after I started playing a couple of years. You know, I don't want to fight them They're on their way out let them let them go to pasture. Yeah, that's where I felt the end of my career And nobody wanted to let me go to pasture. I had these guys Saskatchewan and Ontario and the backside of Alberta these cowboys And cow guys that wanted to kill you, which I don't want I want to get out there too You know corn fed big blues so you leave me alone So you mentioned Bork I want to know because I play with some high skill guys, but you know protecting guys in my age was easy

13:33You know because there wasn't much Guys going after him back in your day. What was it like Protecting Gretzky and Ray Bork and Neely and Robota and all these stars because there was more agitators There was more hitters. There was more people who are out to get up John and I'm gonna hate that the Historians of the game are gonna hate me to say this Wayne Gretzky did not do you protect them. I was offline He didn't even Ray Bork did not do you protect it? Cam Neely did not do protect it. Well, he was different. He could kill you anyway Why these guys you just you protected more of your other teammates Than you did them Who's gonna take a superstar of in Gretzky when they were coming you know here a little guys Let's tell the spade a spade I was there to help the other 18 guys and say the two super guys To make sure that they were fine. Yeah And like Terry Riley said just growl out of you know, I had DNP's is did not play I had almost 30 of them. I should have had 500 games

14:36Back then if you don't step on the ice So there's a lot of games that I had not step on the ice and I'm not complaining about the DNP's I'm complaining about that. I didn't need to be out there The game was going and in a great way And I always say this the historians will hockey on your podcast gonna hate this I was the highest paid player in the history of the game in my last year per shift So Yeah, I Some days I get to play three or four a period, but most times it was two or three and out of those two or three is obviously I was bad luck. I didn't know you know I had you probably will hate this I had about 400 Did healthy scratches in my career I thought I had a lot of 30. Yeah, cuz I played roughly I don't know three 100 some games. I healthy scratched an equal amount Though I just sat in the press box and people would shirt me that come on

15:39Yeah, you don't play you stink and I'm like they're paying me to work out They're paying me to sit in a hot tub like what do you want me to do like it's not my fault I'm not playing but yeah, I I was a did not play all the time What like it still counts towards the pension. I don't care. But people says that to you wishes you were right there Yeah, they just fans that don't know you know, there's I love the fans. They were great to me. Montevish town. I went to the great But to have somebody at today, I get the same thing. I've been out of the big game for 38 I don't even know. I'm 66 now. I get out when I was 34 I still get guys this day. How many goals you get you even have that many goals. I said more than you I can I got to play the best players in the world for five, you know for nine years. So yeah, you bet people people need to put people down I don't get it. I'm like okay. Sorry. I didn't score more goals But so you played college. I played college you were in New Hampshire. I played for Michigan Tech

16:43You got drafted by the Nordics, but then you went to the Bruins. How did you get to the Bruins organization? By the way Anybody in your podcast that hasn't heard my other podcast Christmas but It is one of the greatest stories of all time. No, I got time. Let's go Ray Bloc will tell you if you ever get Ray on he'll tell you the story or a good Clujac I was in the minors I'd go back let me go because I didn't want to be up on a French Canadian team I was in the Dale Hunter and in Glanney I was with There's a bunch of guy Dave and Wally Weir in the Stadison brothers. I wasn't a French kid I was a American with an MBA at University of Hampshire. I don't belong there I just just last by the way, I wasn't a fighter then I was a fighter in the when I first went there Maldoroun in the main musketeen lumberjacks and Michigan I played in the eye playing the ECHL But it was in the main but two I think two and a half years in Trigger called up. We I was January two

17:46And uh well training camp I was just finished my masters and just and a guy named Joe Lyons got rest of sources What do you got a trial for boss? Well, they have a shitty man. Any of you You're a folks out there know what shini is. It's Basically no shoulder pads Elbowes you get your shins you glove Whatever you're not fully dressed and sometimes I swear I home it back then you never were And you go out there they throw a puck you put sticks in the middle This is the Bruins training camp three days. We've prior to the main camp Harry sit in his up in the stands at the time Throw the sticks and you go to bed. Who's this college kid? They don't know idea. I am a walk-on and Ray Boax best friend Uh, was my linemate and he was there on a trial through Ray. He was a very good player Uh, but he you know he wasn't drafted so they bring in a lot of these guys unrestricted free agents And I was one of them and I had a resume of pretty tough but these guys don't know that good Clujac

18:49Happy feet current John Blum And Gordy be on the number one draft pick. They have no idea who I am. So I'm out there screwing around I ran Gordy Clujac behind me that got the stake by mistake Is it by mistake sure I did anyway Uh, like I said Ray tells a story better in the 60th birthday part of this uh a couple years back He told us I had never heard it from tells I asked the type what I'm around other guys I'll say Ray telling the story how I made the board You know because he he's he's a great storyteller bubba Yeah So I go out I run it He goes back to the bench now. There's no refs as you know there's nobody. Yeah, this is us But I've got 25 Boston Bruins guys in the minors in the NHL team who back in 84 had a great team Uh, I run Gordy and Ray comes to the bench and says go get him blumbery go ah no no blumber goes I got him

19:49Now I don't know this this is you know 30 40 years ago John lasted three punches Okay, so Happy feet current who was the resident tough kid at the time you know you're six five kid from god knows where it's a scratch run I haven't seen him. I have one of the few I haven't seen a long time. He gets out there. I think it's five punches They're laid out in the nose So what he cleans up Ray goes do you want me to do this? What who is this kid? I was up in the stands with my sneakers on five minutes later getting grilled by Harry sitting about I we heard you were tough, but you just took out my two tough guys at home in the NHL Where do I wait you want us you want to sign this? No kid you you talk about locked you know right time right right right I always and I've always said this to my kids and everybody else in business. You got to do something special

20:50to stand out It's not dancing in the end zone. It's not naming it glass bar hanging on the rim It's doing something that makes you be seen yeah and next thing you know I'm playing in main mariners and You know, I'm in the I'm on the farm team with Andy Brickley my roommate at UNH And all of a sudden I get a call up on a Saturday afternoon to play fight Dave Brown and Boston Where I live I live 15 minutes from the garden west suburb called Walsley and And actually, you know, I'm fighting Dave Brown. I tuned them up and sent him back something back to Monkton I'm sorry it was Monkton wasn't me. Monkton it wasn't like a Jeff Kortnell Dave Brown just came up John Kortek still in the miners down there uh Jolies down there. I think probing might have been there But there was a ton of tough guys in this AHL

21:54and Believe it or not. Who's the coach of the broads? It was my he was my defensive by play defense back that Co-Juliet And they gave me a check for $350 to get called up to fight Chris now and after the but ending incident with Rick Milton I Thumbed home From no kidding. Why I had to save the three-hundred-alls. I never know We're only getting paid $175 a week down there, you know, $300 to money thumbed home did And I stayed the rest of history stayed for a long time 240 games and I And then getting trades. So it was I was cheap. I was very frugal still am to this day. It's the good trade speaking of cheap You mentioned Harry Sinden. What was he like dealing with because you hear all these rumors You know about the boss's ruins and how cheap they are and they did nickel and dime everybody

22:56How was the dealing with with a guy like that? I did um Okay, this day he is a dear friend. Mm-hmm. I thank him every time I see him Uh, I've been fortunate enough to have seasoned tickets for myself and my family and the business So when I go to a game if I'm not getting paid I won't go but When I go to a game He can't cause down to the securities is bring J up so you don't say hi I thank him every time for trading me now the team doesn't I triple my salary. Yeah, he cheap He was a very good businessman. I run my companies that way now I pay them but I don't pay the exorbitant amount to to throw I win But I do it other ways bonuses slashing he never gave a bonus. He know he believed in cutting the fat and and you know what How can I blame him not? Cam's the same way Well, he just can't believe that he's not playing now not making $70 80 million dollars

24:01It is what it is um You know, I got sick. I think a two way was sixty seven thousand In 28,000 reminders And I'll never forget it. I got that first paycheck if I thought I was the richest man alive Do you think do you think the contracts now because now they pay for What they think you're gonna be like they don't pay for what you've done and so they're giving these kids who are 22 years old Eight years seven million dollars a year for they don't nothing. They've scored like 20 30 points in the NHL And they're just giving them all this money Do you think that ruins it the drive to get better you know the motivation to be a better player to get the paycheck even though they already have it Like I said Again, I'm gonna your fans might be mad out there, but it is what it is meaning They're paying the market value of a fourth line in the 800 that's the way it's going In the owners of stock well, I can't fill a roster. That's halfway decent without doing it

25:05Yeah, my company chef were a new line cook. You know, they're 200,000 a year. Well if I pay 130 And he doesn't same work. I'm great But all of a sudden in a year later he he does 200 let's say he does agree They actually come in and ask Well, I'll open to that chef down the street what happened to that chef down the street So my analogy is that all the sudden these kids Now it's what I don't like about it because they retire with 80 million dollars in the bank with nothing to do That's not good But paying them got god love them. Yeah, let them make as much as they can We're so deep by the eight ball with the other the other teams and other sports usually My thought is have at you know too bad owners you've been making money a long time I can't go into that what I'm doing with the NHL and all that with the PA But I can tell you one thing that The kids deserve it Let them get all they can I'm not gonna fight that that's not fight you can't win God love them. Yeah, please put it in the right place. It's saving

26:09Well, that's that's another whole other issue But we'll stay with Boston for a little bit because before we started recording you were you were gonna get into The playoff the Stanley Cup run you guys went on in 1988, you know You guys were building up to that the Ray Bork and Adam Modes and this great team and yourself and Cam Mealy And then you mentioned that you just didn't stand a chance versus joy You finally got over the Montreal Canadians hump this talk about that series and why didn't you stand a chance? It was just wainer No, it wasn't wain. I mean mocked messian yori curry. This has been his wain at the time. Yeah, you know All coffee could skate the bag off everybody I mean you got you got cocoa in that I mean Look at the lineup. We were a bunch of tack tack guys. They put together the perfect team That matter fact the 2011 team impossible. They won as the same kind of team a tough guy in for checker A sentiment a left wing of tall goal school two goals. Three goals. There's a team. They was put together correctly Like the 1980 limping team was put together To go a long way

27:11With a lot of money by the way Adam wasn't on that team Not to crows, but I don't remember. Thank you. Yeah But we had a bunch of role players. Everybody had a role to play um We go up to Edmonton. I'll never forget it. I mean if the far goes to the lights and all I took the penalty there for McCall and Michael Thalberg got stuck. Whatever the case would be Terry Arali that we went in there all knowing we're gonna win But you know we went in there. Let's go. You know we have a chance Shit we just got seven with Buffalo. Stop with Buffalo. I had 142 minutes and spot supply games We just got the shit kicked out of so we wanted to win. Oh, we were then we go in beat march y'all Then go to Buffalo then we have a war with New Jersey Edmonton sitting there watching us there. They've just cruised through everybody And you look down their lineup because I get to play with the next year with pretty much

28:12I think six out of the 18 Edmonton oil is it came down late with gratitude and uh Jesus. I mean I know it. I had no because I I'm not playing I'm gonna play two or three out of five games. Uh, the Stanley Cup You know if it gets out of control, well, you know, they'll put me out there, but I was lucky enough they think played three out of the five games or whatever was And the launch story short. I mean that team was just a they were the top of their game Just like uh, and I'm not a historian by any means with hockey But just luck the outlaw on the islanders and the stat But we did well. I mean we really fought hard We're not saying we laid down. We didn't lay down at all. We were like I worked our ass off to get there and then to win But I mean just watching those guys play. I mean yari kari was just a specials. He's one of my favorites Um, and I got a chance to play with Gretsal long time after that, you know five years And now like he was a special stand front of that kid. I'm gonna put it off your ass. Well, 12 goals of one year with each and it off my ass

29:16But you know go back They had a team that you know, you forget about mario fearing Simpson the players they had was roles like them too They had two lines that could score against any of our lives. I mean they were just powerhouses And they had two defesning a carry the puck They had a goalie that was a stalwart. Ours was great too as he was awesome Not saying that I'm not comparing they just Way above the level of us in raid god rest, you know He played his balls off And no matter how good he was coffee was right there with him Believe it or not No, I believe it. Yeah, those teams were incredible and it's funny when in your Your NHL 10 year You were right in their sweet spot, you know, they were dominated when five cups in that time frame And then at the tail end of your career you ran into the penguins who were just Lemieux and yoghurt and all those just superstars on that team because you played with two Stanley Cup contenders, you know, the Bruins were great back then and the LA Kings were back then

30:19What was it like going into the season a with the oilers when you're with the Bruins? It wasn't a forgone conclusion. I'm not gonna make this an oilers podcast You said it was it was it wasn't a forgot we tried our ass off. Yeah, but they're just too good So who didn't know that? I mean If you in the back then it wasn't a very hot bet. Yeah You know then the lights went out everything just didn't work our way I mean one little ball here. It's just the fog the lights My peddily that I took with McClaul and we ran You know, threats the next year said I knew Terry was gonna send you out after first time. It's ever happened Like I said nobody's ever sent me out, but that one I got a lot of crap for that But you know down two games and have to go play the game third game up at Edmonton. It's not much fun I think that's how it went down You know Let's forget engine one of our best defensive defensive forwards we've ever had Cam was on it is best Read Montreal though that kind of hurt us beat Montreal and it's never been done before with the Bruins in 60 years

31:23Really it was almost like winning the Stanley Cup for us. Yeah, we probably like clock stars We you know, we really enjoyed that we had 2000 people at the airport. We it was round one You know And then when I'm all the way, but it was it was uh, uh, yeah, I'm not gonna and trust me. I'm not saying that We didn't lay over we worked we tried and tried it we did the by thought we played the best like we ever did all you Yeah, that open ice we done We were used to the confines of Boston god and where on a guy you couldn't get near Gretz curry or you know teaking him was just just shut Cam and Ray down like it was like nothing You know, you know, they underrated player. Yeah, so you're you know University new in Hampshire from Wellesley mass played in the East Coast your whole career And then you go to LA and I you know the hockey is the same whatever the guys are the same the locker rooms The same what I want to know is what was it the culture like because it's a completely different world out there and did it

32:26Was it was it was it tough to adapt to get used to that kind of living out there because I talked to Marty about this a little bit But what was your take on Well now I'm gonna make this a comedy show more than a hockey show. I love it I Ended up going out there And I was Gretz's body god not only on the ice, but off the ice really was So any party we were fighting everybody wanted me grisky. Well, I ended up being the guy next door So you had to introduce me to so I met every Hollywood celebrity I mean the stories I could tell you from being a looping weapon from being the Diet Coke person All the stuff that went around but I'm a kid from Cape Cup Massachusetts a little town outside of Massachusetts Like any of these guys with little towns, but when you go to LA You know, I'm a movie buff, and I'm an also rock up rock and roll kind of guy. I'm gonna have it You know, so I took advantage of every Grammy every party every I did all We all did yeah

33:28Gretz had no choice because he was the face of the LA case we had to do all the Talk shows the way here. He was great and Gretzky. So I have to go with him So I get to see all this stuff was the culture different. What do you think of course? Complete I think I come from a city in Boston You know Mark Wahlberg was not known and and Matt Damon and those guys there were watching me There was in wait from no there. I was there here all at the time when they were in college and you're going up I like up there and they're superstars and I'm like These guys used to watch me and now I'm buddies with them, you know, I'm like pals The culture is cool. I mean the fans were just I don't care if they know what they were talking about are not Dispersive excited. Yeah, you know, you're gonna mantra everybody knows hockey you know to come back everybody knows hockey You know, everybody knows hockey everybody knows how LA knew their hockey it was just it was just they dressed up and they had bigger parties Played as simple like what kind of thing like because

34:29Gret being with Wayne you have the golden ticket right because he was the the the it guy in LA Wait because I when I went there I don't think they cared too much about hockey the shine and wear it off I never I would never played in LA, but when we would go there and play there I think to shine wore off a little bit What was it like? Because I don't think people realize when you're in that environment Just how cool it is like what celebrities would you see like what musicians were you piling around with? Because it's a different world. You don't have time John I mean you name when I can say Trump you could probably name more that I didn't know But I just was friends. No, everybody's by themselves everybody's just isolated with the and they're just looking on the phones all the time And I noticed when I retired It was different even after 10 years because I played 10 years Pro and it was you know It's kind of trending to where it is now where I don't think anybody has too much fun anymore So listen to these stories that you're telling Because I asked Donnie Sweeney about 20 retired.
