MapQuest, still getting you there. We have a major update. If you were wondering what Leon Rose's role was in the next rotation and lineup decisions, we finally have that answer. We're going to break down all of these latest reports today. This episode is presented by FanDuel and now let's get started. Big update on Leon's involvement with rotations. We know that one of the main reasons Mike Brown

was hired was to collaborate more with the front office. But how much say does Leon Rose have regarding the rotation and playing time? He has some influence but not as much as you think. Shout out to Ian Bagley of SNY for giving us this following information. My guy Jay from East New York asked the following question to Ian Bagley. Ian, can you give us any insight on how Mike Brown and Leon Rose collaborate on rotations? Is it more of Leon just checking in on what Mike Brown wants to do or are there direct mandates being given to Mike the follow? According to Ian Bagley directly, he states the following, I don't think Rose has significant sway on playing time slash rotation. I think Mike Brown has the freedom to make those calls. Is there sometimes input from the front office? I'm sure they share their thoughts with Brown

and the coaching staff. But I believe the decision is ultimately up to Brown. I know a lot of people are shocked right now after hearing that response because many people believed Leon Rose had absolute power when it came to this team. But that's not true. What is true is any success this team experiences? Leon will be praised for it. But any failure this team goes through, Leon Rose will be criticized. Shout out to Steph Bondy with the New York Post for giving us this following information. According to him, Leon Rose will be the reason behind any and all Nick's results, no matter the silence, he remains as tight-lipped as ever. Rose doesn't speak publicly, doesn't explain decisions, and doesn't offer insight into the direction of the team. That doesn't mean he isn't responsible, quite the opposite. Everything about this team traces back to Leon Rose.

If the Nick succeed, he deserves the credit. If they fail, there is no one else to blame but him. Leon Rose is not perfect or without fault. He'll make the wrong decision at time or two. But sometimes, he'll also make moves that absolutely help this team. He traded for OG Aninobi. Remember that trade? Looking back on it now, New York fleeced the Raptors. He added Jalen Brunson. A player that right now is a superstar for this team. Those two moves they need to be praised. On the other hand, we can look at some other moves that he's made and question them. He traded for Cam Reddish. We can question that move. He also made a move to get Campbell Walker on this team. I think we all remember that. What about resigning Evan Fornier? We remember that situation too. There are so many different decisions that Leon Rose has made that have not been

great moves. You can make the argument they have hurt this team and hurt the way New York wants to move in the future. That Michele Bridges trade five first round picks. Maybe if they don't make that trade this past offseason, they're making that trade for Yannis. We'll never know because New York made that trade prior for Michele Bridges. All I'm trying to say here is Leon Rose, we know what his role is on this team. President of basketball operations. If you want to blame him or praise him, you have to talk about the roster moves. If you love this roster, praise Leon. If you hate this roster, then criticize Leon. But right now we need to understand because so many people have it wrong when they think Leon Rose is making all of these decisions with the lineups and rotations. He gives his input like many other people in the next front office do. But Mike Brown ultimately is the main person making that decision. Many people in the next front office give Mike

Brown their input on the rotation and lineups. But at the end of the day, it is Mike Brown's decision on who plays who's part of that rotation who's starting all of that. It's on Mike Brown. So if you don't like that, you need to go after Mike Brown, not Leon Rose. So many times in the comments, I see from a number of different people, them blaming Leon Rose for things that Leon should not be blamed for. You want to criticize the roster, criticize the roster. You want to criticize rotations and lineups? That goes to Mike Brown. Please direct. Has the news been getting you down? I'm Megan McCartle and I'm here to help. It complains to the right party because when you do that, it makes sense. If you blame Brunson for roster construction, if you blame Leon Rose for rotations, if you blame Mike Brown for making the decision on who to have in the front office, those type of complaints don't make sense to who you're giving them to. We have to understand this. We need to know what person plays what role. Leon is president of basketball operations. He handles that. Jalen is our superstar. He's the captain of the mix. He handles that. Mike Brown is the head coach of this team. He handles that. We all clear. We all understand what's going on. We all understand who calls what, depending on what we're talking about.

Now that we understand that, let's talk about the team in the right way. Starting lineup. First of all, if you want to change the starting lineup, if you want to replace Michele Bridges with the Landry Shamit, Jordan Clarkson, Mohammed Diawara, whoever you're thinking about, direct that comment to Mike Brown, not Leon Rose. Can you imagine saying in the comments, Leon, make Mike Brown play a different starting five? No, he's not going to do that. He paid Mike Brown to be the coach. He didn't pay Mike Brown to always defer to him. Because if that's the case, he's not doing his job. Please, let's understand this. If you want somebody else to start, that complaint has to go to Mike Brown. And as of right now, at this point, it doesn't look like Mike Brown is going to change the starting five. At least as of right now, however, if New York goes on a losing streak or we continue to have poor starts to games,

Mike Brown will be forced to make that change to the starting five. And if he does make that change, in my opinion, given all the reports that have come out recently, Michele Bridges is the odd man out. And shout out the channel sponsor fan duel, America's number one sportsbook for giving us this updated information. And these latest odds on who's going to win the NBA Eastern Conference this season. And as you can see here, Boston is on top at plus 175. Then you have the calves at plus 280. Then you have the New York Knicks at plus 460. Then right after them is the pistons at plus 470. Then after them, it jumps significantly to the Hornets at plus 3500. Then right after them are the Philadelphia 76ers. And they're at plus 4500. The ironic part here is if the Knicks do not reach the Eastern Conference finals,

Mike Brown, he will be criticized. Leon Rose, he will be criticized. And in that situation, both men deserve to be criticized. If Mike Brown does not lead this team all the way to the Eastern Conference finals, all eyes will be on him. If this roster can't get the Knicks to the ECF, all eyes will be on Leon Rose. And you know what? If that happens, it would be justified. This is our year to win an NBA championship. We're supposed to be a legit contender for the NBA finals. If the Knicks do not reach at the very least, the Eastern Conference finals this season, it will be seen as a failure. We are in a championship window right now. We need to win a championship in this window. If not one championship, multiple championships. That's what Leon Rose wants for this next team. That's what Mike Brown was brought here to do. And if both men cannot get the job done,

then it's fair to criticize them after this season. And speaking about after this season, if New York does not reach its goal, doesn't get to the ECF, the NBA finals, gets blown by in the second round. I promise you, massive changes will be coming to this Knicks team, not only to the roster, potentially to the Knicks front office too. But what about you guys? What do you think about Leon Rose's involvement in the Knicks lineup and rotation decisions? Let me know how you feel about that in the comment section below, guys, because honestly, I would love to hear from you. But that's going to do it for this episode. I hope you enjoyed it.
