Inner Work 241: Getting Beyond the Doubt and Fear of Your Ego Mind

As humans, we all have an ego self. This is the persona or identity we've developed (unconsciously, as part of our human development) to be able to cope, survive in the world, and maintain a certain appearance in front of others.

The job of your ego mind is to protect you, keep you safe, avoid change, and maintain the status quo - even if the status quo is not serving you. (Ego will always CLING to the familiar and old patterns.)

To try to keep you safe, your ego mind will use sneaky tactics - including making you doubt yourself, making you feel inadequate, and triggering fear when you try to expand beyond your comfort zone.

In this episode, we'll talk about fear and doubt as (counterintuitive) forms of ego protection, and how you can begin moving beyond these ego patterns that may hold you back.
