It's April 21st. Dallas News. Today starts now, AI-powered and ready. A 36-year-old inmate at Taren County Jail passed away on Sunday just three days after getting locked up. He was found unresponsive in his cell, so jail medical staff from JPS Correctional Health jumped in with life-saving efforts right away. They rushed him to JPS Hospital in For Worth, but he didn't make it. This guy had shown up at the Jail on April 16th, picked up by the Texas Department of Public Safety on a parole violation charge. Whenever someone dies in Taren County Jail, it kicks off a full probe by Sheriff's Office staff, their criminal investigations team, the medical, examiner, outside cops, JPS docs, the Texas Attorney General, and the State Jail Standards Commission. Right now, the Taren County Medical Examiner's Office is set to figure out the cause of death and release his name, so we'll keep an eye on that as. More details come out.
