Ingrid Neel Interview: Playing Against Familiar Opponents, 20 Partners in One Year, & No-Ad Points

This is a conversation with #89 ranked WTA doubles player, Ingrid Neel. I chatted with Ingrid at the ATX Open after her first round win. She went on to win in the quarterfinals and hasn’t played her semifinal match at the time of this writing.

Ingrid shares insights about her round 1 match, where she teamed up with Olivia Tjandramulia for the first time. I asked her how they handle winning in convincing fashion – they won 6-3 6-1.

We also discussed:

• How you play against someone who you know so well
• Playing with a new partner, getting to know their game style, and what to do before your first match.
• Her ideal doubles partner’s game style (hint: Bryan Bros)
• How we can make doubles more popular
