In Part 5 of the series our seasoned Professors offer advice to the next generation of academics.

Professor Mĩcere Mũgo advises the next generation of academics to remain mindful of the past struggles that paved way for the works they are able to accomplish today. Moreover, she encourages authors to assert themselves against systems in academic institutions that have marginalized groups such as the youth, women and persons with disabilities.

Professor Peter Kimani in turn speaks on the often spirit-breaking nature of navigating the institutional barriers placed before young academics, and the ways in which cultural systems and expression have been suppressed in the modern context.
