America was designed by our Founding Fathers, as spelled out in the Mayflower Compact, Declaration of Independence, and U.S. Constitution, as a constitutionally limited republic. To maintain that system, representatives are elected by an informed and inspired citizenry. This requires a shared moral compass and a fixed standard of what truth is and is not. Historically in the U.S., that compass has been Christianity and the teachings of the Bible.
