If You're Rich, Stay Lean | ReWire 1658

I've learned so many lessons in life about how to be rich. 

 

I wasn't always rich, but I knew I didn't like being poor.  

 

So, I started studying finances and learned the mentality behind creating and being a good steward of my resources. 

 

Every single wealthy person you ever meet will tell you not to buy dumb shit. 

 

Warren Buffet still lives in his original house in the midwest. 

 

When he started banking tons of cash with Berkshire Hathaway, he didn't go out and buy a Lambo, fly private, or invest in an insane mansion.  

 

He could have, but he didn't. 

 

Mark Cuban has been heard saying the same thing to his atheletes that came to work with the Mavs...........he'd tell them, "This is a short run in your life.  One day, you'll not play basketball, so save your money." 

 

And while I tell you this, yes, I've been guilty of doing the same thing, but I used the Lambos and McLarens to make more money. 

 

I used private jets to create an experience to discuss business while also creating much-needed tax write-offs.

One thing you can count on with money is it will come and go, but you have to make great decisions and do good shit with it.  It's the universe's way of testing to see if you're responsible with it so it can give you more.
