I Was Attacked By A Bear with Amma Thanasanti

About this episode

Amma Thanasanti first encountered the Dharma in 1979 and was a Buddhist nun for 26 years in the Ajahn Chah Forest Tradition. She has been teaching intensive meditation retreats internationally since 1995, combining the precision and rigor of the Forest Tradition with compassion, pure awareness practices, and a passion for wholeness.

Her teaching emphasizes deep listening, authenticity, inquiry, and presence while supporting people from diverse communities in cultivating belonging and connection. Through Awakening Truth, Amma integrates meditation with trauma-informed approaches, encouraging people to pause, inquire into the present moment, and foster personal growth and healing.
