My name is Jake and this is Daily Life.
Have you ever found yourself wondering how God feels about you?
You see, I think a lot of times it can be really easy for us to assume
that God feels a certain way about us based on how we feel about us.
When things are going well and we feel really good about ourselves,
we figure God must be happy with me.
I'm spending time with them, I'm living the way I should, things are great.
But on the flip side, when we find ourselves struggling and sin,
falling back into the same vices and bad habits again,
we start to assume that God is angry with us, unsatisfied, or disappointed with us
because of how we feel about ourselves in those moments.
But I want to share with you something that could hopefully change
everything about how you think God feels about you.
And where else can we find that?
God's love letter to us.
And what I love about the Bible is that he speaks our language.
He uses human examples to explain his love for us.
And so take a look at Isaiah 62, 5, where it says,
then God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.
I love that metaphor.
And it hits home for me because I just got married a few months ago.
And there was an anticipation and an excitement as I waited to see my wife
for the very first time in her dress.
And when I finally saw her, I was delighted.
And I was taken aback by the beauty that was in front of me.
And what's embarrassing is that the only thing that I could kind of get
out at that point was a squeak to let her know how much I love her.
And God reacts the same way when he sees you.
He delights in you without conditions.
And just how I couldn't begin to quantify the love that I feel
from my wife in that moment, we can't even begin to quantify the love
that God has for us.
Not disappointment, not anger, just love, delight, and joy.
So stop trying to earn as love by performing because you already have it.
Today, just take a moment, let yourself be delighted in by God.
Let me pray for you.
Dear God, we thank you for today.
We thank you for the fact that you love us wholeheartedly without condition, God.
And God, I ask you, just let that love permeate throughout our day to day
that you remind us of that when we feel down.
And so God, we're grateful for you. We're thankful.
