Scott Fransky joins us at noon today for our first Fransky Friday in season. He joined us last week to get ready, but now we've got a game under a belt belt Phillies. Want to know, we've got a lot to get to in the show. We've got Scott Fransky at 12. I believe Hugh Douglas is going to issue a challenge about an hour from now to a former great shot. Absolutely. So we're going to do that. I advise against it. I've not gone before. He's still, I think he ducked. I'm pushing him to do this. I think it'd be great content. I mean, I just think it'd be amazing. We'll get to that. The daily mock later in the show. And we also have an LOL Met situation. Now, they did win yesterday, so they're off to a good start. But something happened before the Met's game that we cannot ignore, because it is a great moment. What stood out the most to you opening day? Hugh, what was it? It was a bomb with the Sanchez bomb, the bomber homer.

02The bomber homer that you called the bomber homer. Now, would now be honest, was it because you called it or because it means it's a good sign for the Phillies? What's a good sign? And I called it twofold. Oh, so you signed a call? So it's partially about you. It's, you know, he got, like I said, he got a lot going on, man. And he got called out inadvertently when he was talking about the four-hole hitter. When there was like, who the, some obscure dude behind me, you know, ain't protecting me, whatever. I don't think he said it like that. I mean, he did say it was something to that effect. He's like, whoever hit behind me, ain't doing the job or whatever. He says something like that. Well, I mean, the other thing is. The bomb thing is so interesting. You know, we had a call or last call of the defendant. There are a lot of people out there who see the good and Alec bomb. A lot of us that see the flaws in Alec bomb. He, look, he's an OK player. He's been an OK player for a while now for the Phillies. I do agree with the notion that he gets probably talked about more because the Phillies put him in a spot to get talked about more, right? If he's the seven hitter, we're not having as strong of discussions in Alec bomb that is absolutely true. But he's not the seven hitter. He's the four hitter.

03And the Phillies a year ago, basically telegraphed to the world they were trying to trade him. They couldn't this off season. They were, I mean, they telegraphed to the world again. They were trying to get his replacement. So Hugh, that's hard for, I think, a lot of fans not to think when we watch him, right? Like, we hope he does the best. We know kind of what kind of player he is or we do know for a good amount, what kind of player he is, we'll see what he does this year. But Hugh, it's hard to ignore that the Phillies actively offer $200 million to Boba Shatt to replace Alec Bum, right? So that, it tells you that they even think there's questions about him. Yeah, there was, man, and it had to be tough. And the years that they were trying to trade him, he had some, they were decent, but the fact remains that they were trying to get rid of. Yeah, they were definitely trying to get rid of. Well, and then they have a player, Aiden Miller, coming through the system and he's been slow would a back issue. But they played him a lot of third base or were going to in spring training. So it all points to, Bum is a fascinating figure this year because if he hits, he's going to keep his job. If he hits, people are going to want to keep him. But the organization for years now

04has basically signaled in every way. We're moving off this guy, right? He's not a long-term part of this thing, but a great first day that the biggest takeaway for me was Sanchez. Just picking up where he left off, a dominant starting pitcher. And we talked yesterday before the show about how this rotation and before the game, how this rotation, their ceiling is best in baseball. That's the ceiling for this rotation. It'd be the overall best in baseball and they start off with Sanchez dominant. I mean, it's the best opening day start we've seen from a fully started since Kurt Schilling in 1997. That is how great that guy was yesterday. And of course, there's also Justin Crawford, what his debut and the Bryce Harper stuff, 215, 592, 924. Biggest takeaway from yesterday is when our Twitter poll, it's an interesting split so far on this one. So we had four options for people today to vote on. Crawford's debut, Bombs Homer, Sanchez is dominance and Harper's struggles. Hugh, early in the poll, what do you think of the four options is getting the most votes? Harper's struggles. It's not, but it's fighting for seconds.

04So the most votes are on Sanchez's dominance. I think people want to see the positive and be happy to know. Okay, yeah, pitching, okay. Sanchez dominance. The second two, and they're jockeying for second place, Crawford's debut and Harper's struggles. Very few votes for Bombs Home Run. I have to imagine those are Hugh Douglas votes, those are Ike Reese votes, and probably Joe and Delaware, who wanted to yell at me about Bombs being better than Harper last time. Probably his vote on all of this. Let's go back to the phone lines and then we'll give you the daily AJ Brown update, probably another feather in the cap for Hugh Douglas here. Let's go to Anthony and Jersey. What's up, Anthony? Hey, what's going on, guys? I've been hearing you. Hey, what's going on, man? Anthony, good morning, man. What's up? Hey, I remember what the dead air was. It was Joe DeGamer. He said, it was a laugh in the movie that he was going to say to Jack Fritch's wife, his girlfriend, about give her a kiss or something. I didn't see Jason yet. That's how you get pushed in the face.

07And Hugh Douglas, I don't know what he was put dreaming about. I guess he was dreaming about standing at somebody else's wife. Oh, I don't know what he was. But definitely was dreaming about saying that somebody was lying. Jack, Joe was doing the Mr. T thing. Oh, that's right. About the Mr. T by the steps. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. All right. Come here, warm here. Yes, that's a classic scene. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. That makes that checks out. That fits the timeline of all this. Good memory on that, Anthony. Hey, man. You know, I'm a mid-day show listener, man. I know it was something. I can't remember what it was, but it was something. I like that your memory of it was stronger than Hugh's. That's perfect. That's the mean, the ball from the floor. Yeah, I'm talking about you. I'll take your shots at you like that. Anthony, what took you about the face? Hey, the fellas look really good last night. Really good last night. I know it was only day one, but they look really good last night. Your frillers have come back, man.

08You've got another ace in franchise. Man, they look really good last night. Other than Bryce Harper, I believe Bryce Harper's on a decline. And just how you said he might be the last one to know. Yeah, that's the last one that you last one to know is usually the person that that's in decline. So yeah. Yeah, and for today's Friday, Friday, I believe we should listen to you. Oh, come on. Are you serious? Come on. He'll be dropping Jim's laughing. James. What do you want, James? Name one. That's the only Jim who did not drop. One, he told us when he's going to Super Bowl, that we was going to win. Yeah, I need to do that. I need to do that. He called it. Yeah, can I go on and on and on? Call them. Please don't. Please don't. Call their time on Walker. I want to walk it. Let us talk. Let us talk. You have to spread it.

08You duck it. You got to that. No, I don't want you to keep going. I don't. We got it. We have plenty. Anthony, great phone call. We appreciate it. Yeah. I mean, I. It's interesting. Since you've been back here at three years on the midday show with us. I've been on fire. Well, that's that's an exaggeration, but that's an exaggeration. I do think you're best. Easy enough. The best one you had was as the bleep hit the fan in 24 with the Eagles early in the season. You would not move off if they were going to win this. He did. I mean, that was it. Oh, with the Browns game. It was the Browns game. Whenever we miss you, I didn't cut his hair. Yeah. Hell of a time to call it. Yeah, because that's your best one. It is because it was the time you got a haircut. He's bound to down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Good times. Good times. Now, that's a that's one that actually is a feather in your cap, but a little home run to write field gesture and opening day. That's not going to happen. We'll take that. We'll take that. Yeah. I know. Oh, and last year when you conveniently said Taiwan Walker is going to shut down a basically a minor league team. Don't forget. Don't forget about that defensive luxury.

09Not in this. No, that was a bad thing. Yeah. That's that's in the L department. You shouldn't have brought that one up. Five. No. No. Nuclear win. Nuclear win. No. No. It's not. If we're making the pros and cons of listening to Humor, that's a con for you. No, that's a pro. Radioactive waste. I killed that one. But nobody in the audience thinks you were right. I mean, I was though. I'm still right. Well. That's because people in all these are going to have a vision that I have. They don't. They don't. All right. Okay. These are the people that you know, you want to try and get to vote for us to listen. I mean, I have a few people. No, but a few people get it. But as you know, I'm converting more as we go through this. They're going to do it. Are you going to do your morons? You know, I think again. Morons. You know how we do? We're not worried about that. Morons. I don't care about the fans. I mean, the best part always of the luxury of the defense, luxury, not a necessity thing is always comes down the money. Well, no. The fact that the Eagles then went on to win the football backed by their defense led by their defense.

09It was the complete necessity to that championship. It was a. It was like a. It was like a Mustang that had, you know, it had a. And it was bored out. Had a board out. Was that Windsor 350 or whatever is in the in the coyote engine or whatever they want. It's a spin doctor. It was like, I'm just saying it was like they overachief for the kind of money they were making. And then they came back this year and once again, let the team. Let them wear. Wait, I mean, where were they? If they had an average defense, they would have missed the play. Yeah. They let them wear. Well, they let them to the they dragged the offense to the playoffs. Yeah. They got screaming playoffs. They got dragged. The defense got dragged. The offense had the ball to win the game at the end. They did. They did. But, you know, you know what? You know what? The Bass Brothers couldn't cook anything off. The Bass Brothers had. Who's the Bass Brothers? Who's the Bass Brothers? But two of them in Cereani. Remember that clip in the sideline of Buffalo? They, of the arm bar? Yeah, that was crazy. After, were they scoring that game? 13 points? It's slow, but it goes to home. They'll bar all three. 13 or 12. I think Paris.

09I think they did not score a single point in that game after that. Of course not. I mean, after the arm bar. Goodness gracious. All right. Speaking of Eagles quickly. Right back to the Phillies. Because it is opening day reacts. We want to continue to talk Phillies. But we have to do a daily AJ Brown update. It's contractually obligated here at WIP. We have to do it. And really today. This one's for Douglas. Yesterday, Adam Schefter, ESPN. The latest on the AJ Brown sweepstakes. Well, not a lot, Laura. Look, they signed Elijah Moore. Elijah Moore and AJ Brown are close friends from college. So you could interpret that. And the fact that maybe they want to make AJ Brown happy and keep him there by signing Elijah Moore. Some people say, oh, they signed Elijah Moore and Hollywood Brown. Maybe those are potential replacements as it pertains to AJ Brown. The fact of the matter is we're in late March. And it doesn't look like anything's going to happen with AJ Brown for a little while if it even happens at all. The Eagles have listened to teams. But they have been steadfast in saying all along. That they were not looking to trade them and would only trade them. Unless they got an offer they couldn't refuse.

11That has not transpired so far. Plus, the thing to remember is that it would be easier to trade AJ Brown after June 1st due to the salary cap acceleration. So if they were going to trade them, that would be the time to do it. The question is, New England's been the one team that's out there that people have linked up and connected to AJ Brown. Is New England going to bring back Steph Diggs? Is New England going to use a high pick on a wide receiver? Is New England going to find another receiver between now and June 1st? We don't know how that's going to work out yet. So it's too early to say that he's going to wind up in New England if he were to be traded. That would be the most likely destination. But there's nothing agreed to. There's nothing in place. And there's still a lot of time between now and June 1st for events to transpire. All right, go ahead. Go ahead, go ahead. He said nothing. I witnessed your head balloon up in real time. All I'm going to say is you just have to listen to what's being said.

11And shout out to Adam Schefter, because he's been... Oh, no, no, because he said... This is rich. Yeah, no. Because he said what you wanted him to say. This is rich. He knows what he's talking about. Last week. Oh, no. He goes inside of the year. Don't buy that. Play the ether. See? Y'all, before I even get it out, y'all jump all over. Well, because you're being ridiculous. I am not. The only reason I'm giving Adam Schefter a shout out is because he breaks a lot of stores. But he's been saying the same thing for the last couple of weeks. Man, he's been talking a whole lot of nothing. Hold on. He said AJ would prefer to be moved last week. And he just flat out refused to believe him. But that's it. He's saying what you want him to say. No, it's a joke. You are rich. No. The story changes. This story has been meandering the whole time that we've talked about it. Yeah. Between all of the four horsemen. It's never been nothing definitive. This always been way ahead. This is what I'm hearing. Hey, it could be this. Every week it could be something different. A few weeks ago.

11Oh, he's going to probably be traded by the end of the week. What if sports were traded like markets? Now you can put your sports IQ to work in real time with Robin Hood prediction markets. Because we are so, like, it's almost like this is a bad analogy. No, here we go. But it's almost like crackheads and smoking crack. That's a good one because when you tell in crackheads that the crack is coming they get excited about the crack. Oh, crack coming. So they get excited. It's the same thing. We love football so much that anytime they say something, we believe it. I don't smoke crack. No, I don't do that.

11So I don't believe what they say all the time. You know, in a second. I don't smoke crack either. And I'm all on to the interesting. I don't believe that. I don't smoke crack. I mean, I don't think you smoke crack. You kind of skinny. But I don't think you smoke. You kind of skinny. But I'm just saying that. Okay, maybe that was a bad analogy. But you got what I was saying. Well, I enjoyed it thoroughly, actually. So. What do you mean to crack? No, the crack analogy. No, no, no, not the crack. I just love it. Compared everyone who's hanging on the words of the AJ Sweepsticks to crackheads. Crackheads. But crackheads. Just listen. Because you know, we heard people coming to talk about, oh, or deals are already done. Deal wasn't already done. You're anywhere from a deal was done to a deal is pending after this date. And then it just, it just. It's fluid. It's a fluid set. But it's like, it's, it's, it's who can get out there and, and get the juices flowing and get the, get the, get the clicks early and everybody. I just can't believe we got, I told you so Douglas on every subject. Here's the problem. Every one. No, I'm trying to. No. I didn't hear any update at all in that.

15That was that the same stuff we've been hearing for weeks. It was two minutes of weeks. Nothing has really changed. Nothing. We got to wait till June 1st. He was doing a lot of long talking. He was just hanging on to that, if at all, for dear life. No, listen, let me, let me just say this. And this is the reality of this whole AJ Brown situation. Yeah, if you're pleased in lightness with the reality, yeah. I've already won. Y'all just, y'all just don't. What? Because he's here. So what? I won. I won. I won. I won weeks ago. I won during the combine. You know how you set during the combine? Yeah, I won't. You know how you said earlier that the declining player is the last to know? No, I was so, but you said I'm the last to know. The guy that has the L is the last to know. You need to call him. Hey, no, I'm winning. I'm right now. I'm in a great spot. I mean, you won't. You worry about it. I am winning this. Yeah. The line is slipping away from you so much that when you hear anything, you just scream, hold the line. I mean, I hold the line. You know, I got to tell you. I got to tell you. You better pray that he doesn't get traded because I am going to be a problem. If he gets traded, I already won, Kyle.

16So he can get traded and get traded tomorrow. Oh, no. Oh, no. I'm going to be thoroughly. I am going to be thoroughly. No, you've lost. I think there are two shows that we need to put in the holster for when this thing goes down. Number one is apologize to Diana Racine. Right? The whole Delaware Valley is going to have to do it. Oh, a huge, I mean, huge. You have to lead the way. You have to say. She's the inside of you. I ain't apologizing to her. Well, but you haven't respected the inside of your entire time. I'm not going to do it. Well, because you lost. Second, second show we have to do is. Second show we have to do after the age of trade goodness. It's telling you he was wrong. I mean, just, I need you ever call it a single call. You were wrong. I wasn't wrong. Hey, tell me. You can tell. You can say whatever you want to say. I mean, I'm going to believe it. I already won this. You didn't win a thing. Game set match. You didn't win anything. I won. I won. I'm sitting here sitting here looking like a champ. Even though I didn't win the inside of the game. You were looking like a champ. You were looking like a champ. I'm looking like a champ. What about now? Champ over one. This moment. One over line.

16Because I held the line. One line. I called the Super Bowl. I called the Alec Bomm on run. You called the Super Bowl. The Taiwan Walker home run. The way the Taiwan Walker opening day debut. You know, I could not be. I could not be more tired of you. You know, I called the debut from last year. So yeah, I'm winning over here. One. Listen, I want the Phillies to win the next two games. I from my sanity though. Bomm can't hit another pair of home runs this weekend. I hit one tomorrow. Off with DeGrom. Yes. Book it. He going to hit one tomorrow. Off with DeGrom. Yes. I don't see that. He going to hit it. He going to hit it. It's going to happen. Okay. And when it does, I ain't going to say I told you. I'm just going to walk you in. Oh, yes, you are. I'm not. Everyone I told everyone what you did. There was an I told you show Douglas a couple months ago. The sales team is just getting ready for their day. They're right there. They're destined. The other side of the office. You better listen. You better listen to me. All right. I felt they needed to. I felt they needed to be motivated to sell stuff. Did it work? I don't know. Okay. Let's go to Dylan in New Jersey. What's up, Dylan?

16Good morning, guys. How are y'all doing? I popped up. I'm ready to go after that Philly the game yesterday. One. We got one down out of 162. We're ready to go. Sanchez took the hood that ESP was wearing. And he put it over to Texas Rangers battered. And he struck them out. And we went five plus, baby. Let's go. Boomer hit the Homer. And he got another hit. Our youth is what's going to get us over the top this year. We don't know. We don't know. We don't need Harper to get to the playoffs. We need Harper and Schwarber for the world's fierce. I'm on kindergarten watch. I'm watching Stutt. I'm watching Turner. I'm watching all the young guys. You know, Turner's not young. I don't know why. I better wait. Stay tuned. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. We might want to workshop the kindergarten watching. Because they were in daycare. Now they're in kindergarten. I get it. But. Over in the garden. Yeah. Well, you know what Dylan? Here's the thing. I think I'm out on kindergarten. That one. We'll put that aside. Just for the purpose of the show. But. Dylan, I'm excited after yesterday too. And that you're right about Sanchez.

16They were looking like they were blind. Photo like Ellie at the other day in here for Eagles Insider. They are the Texas Rangers had no shot yesterday against them. No shot. Did you go in five plus? It's good. It's good. It's good feeling. And guys, I just want to let you know. I'm going to BJ today. I'm getting air pods. And I'm getting a notebook. And I'm going to take notes before I do all my calls. I'm going to come in a better caller than you guys got notes. I love that boy. All right. Well, here's advice. Don't do the notes. Don't write things. Don't do that. No, no, no. No, no, no. You come from the hardest way way back. Yeah. Now, if you want to workshop what you're going to say before we start talking. That, you know, your idea. You want to put notes just to remember things that you wanted to get to. But don't write down here. Yeah. Don't do it word for word. Yeah. Like if you want to say, I want you want to hit Bryce and Sanchez or whatever in your phone call. Yeah. You know, I appreciate that. He's working. I agree. He's working. I like Dylan. We're going to become a great caller. Dylan, we appreciate it. We don't want to, we don't want to regress though. No, no, we want to, we want to move forward. We want, we want emotion, passion, anger, even. Well, I like anger.

17Anger is good. You could tell, again, there's a secret here. If you tell Kyle that Chilio's an idiot, you go right to the top of the board. Very true. And it's easy. It feels like that. Yeah. Aaron and San Diego up on WIP. Aaron. Good morning, Philadelphia. Aaron. Good morning. You know, I just wanted to start with the Friday. If I may, and I wanted to flip the script a little bit. Sure. Because I think Mr. Hugh Douglas needs to listen to one Aaron and San Diego and Hollis Thomas. For two guys that have absolutely positively outkicked their coverage, the wisdom, the information, information, the mastery of outkicking your coverage. If you listen, Hugh Douglas, you too can outkick your coverage. We can help you. Are you offering Hugh advice with ladies here?

17Is that what you have to do, Hugh? All you have to do is go to hashtag that guys need love to and you can learn a lot, my friend. I've got a guy here, Aaron, Aaron. That's crazy. So as far as you can't make fun of yourself. No, I mean, I mean, come on, you gotta laugh at yourself. That's right. That's a little wild, don't fat guys. I mean, y'all did eye for yourselves. Yeah, hold on better than I'm doing. Well, jealousy had a Douglas over here. No, I'm not jealous. I'm a man, you know, it happened when it took. As far as I'm not looking for a bit of happiness. Yeah, yeah, as far as yesterday, you know, let's talk about the good, the bad and the ugly, of the good. I mean, the sand chis, you know, just like Jalen Hertz, when he got that big contract, you watch Christopher Sanchez and you just think that he is worth every single penny that the fillings are paying him. Well, I mean, Jalen's not played as well since he got the contract to be clear, but that's okay.

18That's you, Joe Giulio. No, no, no, says anyone with ice. Let's, let's, hey, let's do anything with ice. You brought it up, you brought it up. Sanchez has continued to excel since they paid him. Jalen did not play as well post-conjuring. That's all I'm just, hey, that's it. Just want to go to Jalen there. Hey, Joe, hey, Joe, Aaron, do we have our, do we have our next fly in Hawaiian, Shane Victorino? Do we actually have a center fielder that actually can play the position and hit the ball and run the bases? I mean, how excited were you yesterday with the, with the young gun, you know, Crawford getting out there and showing what he can do, man. I mean, his future is so bright that I think Philly fans are going to have to wear shades. Well, you know what it is? Absolutely. Yeah, I, well, that's an Aaron line. Aaron, good phone call, appreciate it. Crawford is a promising player and it's, it's exciting to see him get off to a good start. You know, we'll see where his season goes. It's not going to be two hits tonight, but he's got something about him. And I just, he's got confidence that he belongs. He told us that in spring training.

19He saw a more important thing in the conference. Yeah, he's, he looks the part. Now we'll see how he progresses here, but I love what I saw yesterday. 215-592-94-94, your phone calls. An open day, biggest takeaway. Sanchez, boom. Crawford, or was it Price Harper who did not look good? Plus, should we listen more to Hugh Douglas? It's a Friday, Friday. We're taking the votes.
