It's the best time of the year though. The fall coming up. Oh, I got football already, already the colleges have early cranked up. Football coming in, high school football coming in, all kinds of stuff happening. What about the 30th of September? You doing anything? 30th of September. You don't know? No. The flyers' language? Oh, that's 30th? Well, we're not, yeah, it's a national thing. Oh, that's why your brain wasn't triggered. I'm like, I don't like national games. I mean, I like the guys and everything, but it's like I like doing the games. You don't like Bouch? I love it. No, I think you just basically admitted you don't like Bouch yet. Well, except for the fact that he's from Rhode Island, it's all of the math. It's okay. I've been lucky. He's a really good guy. Of course he is. He dealt with so many of those guys. But it's like, I like when, I like local, like when, you know, I just, I miss it when we're not doing it. But you do a healthy job, both especially.

Swarber's cold right now, so it's turner. And turner, any good pitcher, any good team, especially the diamond backs, know how to pitch our hitters to their weaknesses. And turner, he cannot cover the outside of the plate. He tries to pull every pitch for a home run. He has an uppercut swing. It looks like a mini castiano swing with that uppercut. I'm busy because of turner. And if we don't do something about it, I don't know what's gonna happen. Well, let me ask you, what are you going to do about it?

3:06I would put either spot or Crawford in that two-cell. I don't care if you have four left-handed hitters, it's better than what we have now, how? What are we gonna do? But I mean, let me argue with you, how can it be that bad when you just had a month like this? What the turner do? Turner went like, well, for a while. No, take them to J. You're trying to win games. It's almost... Yes. It's what drives me crazy with the Eagles conversation. Well, they win games and people look at things and say, but we do this. No, the idea is to win games. You have what they want against the Angels. The Angels don't have pitchers that are as good that can locate pitches as well as the raves and the diving backs and the dodgers. They're gonna know. We've seen this in the last three, four years of playoffs. They're gonna do the same thing that they did in the other playoffs with turner. And if they don't do something about him, that's a disgrace on the Phillies' part. They need to make a move.

4:07Why is he so sacred with his 270-minute-hour contract? Look, turner is very talented. I like things, a good guy, but he has to count. He's the second fastest runner in the league. He doesn't walk at all. He doesn't punt at all. Who punted the other night? Harper punted past the pitcher. Why can't turner do that? He doesn't want to do it. Turner needs to want to do what will help his team to win. And if he won't do that, we're not gonna go for it in the playoffs. I think that's it. You know what, Dan? That is the greatest phone call of all time. Well, I mean... That is good stuff. That's a... Your microphone focusing on... And I will agree. It is a problem area. And I think it will be addressed in the offseason. I don't know the value of addressing that during the season. If you have something that's going well, and he's shown that he can have those... A couple of weeks, three weeks, when it all comes together, whatever. And I agree with you. I'm not saying that that's not a spot that you worry about.

5:09Yeah, you worry about it. But I don't know if you upend everything. I don't know the inner working of that locker room. How much? How much they put into a veteran like that? How much chaos that we create, if you have a situation where somebody's truly unhappy, what's going on? I don't know that it's worth it to throw something like that. And that becomes a huge issue. Look what happened to the beginning of the year and all that stuff with Harper was going on. Look at the start that they had. Do you want to do this now? With the team playing the way they're playing now? Okay, so... Is moving him down in the lineup, going to ruffle all the feather? If that's what we're saying, right? You're not going to be able to do anything to an extreme outside of maybe moving him from two to six. Okay, but would you do it while you're winning? Why would you... Let's say they go cold. Then I'd find, and they've done it with Shorber.

6:09They've done things like that when it's like, okay, let's address some things here. Let's change some things up. I don't know. I'm not a person that wants to rock the boat when the boat's sailing pretty well. I hear you. I really do. And that's what makes this difficult. And here's another part of it too. And this is why I actually lean your way, believe it or not, even though I'm not a trade-turner guy. I just don't think there's another option. Like, I don't care if there's nine lefties in it. Well, that's not going to work. There really isn't a right-handed option to put in the two holes. You're not putting JT in there. You're not putting bone. The guy is slower than molasses. You're not putting him in there. You're not putting these guys in there. So, I don't really think there is an option unless you want to talk about maybe moving Kyle and putting Stad or Louisa... But you're not moving Louisa rise when Bryce Harper is having that type of contribution with Louisa rise behind him. So, I think you're stuck more than it is I'm on willing. I'm actually very willing to rock the boat if you actually had an alternative that I think had a payoff

7:10but I don't think that there's a payoff worth it. You know what I mean? I don't think so either. I mean, it's going to be addressed. It has to be addressed eventually. Long term over the winner, whatever. But man, I'll tell you right now, I don't know that I would necessarily go in and say make a major change right now. Be bold, obviously. But like you said, where are you going to go with it? At this point, if you haven't made the bold statement to track, when are you going to do it? The bold statement should have been done when he had the yips and he missed every routine ground ball to ever be hit his way. Right. And he doesn't have that kind of statutes. But I also think once the one's the feelings come to Atlanta, that's the biggest. That's the bigger series. That's when it's going to matter because I really honestly speaking, I really think this team is going to split. Braves and Phillies always go back and forth. It's always a back and forth thing if you notice. If you ever remember any of these games, just regard what the wins and losses is between us so far this year. But it's always a back and forth. It doesn't always end in the night. That's when it really is because these teams are way too good. This is what's really good about them. And I'll be honest, I got the little, I'm the little jittery, the little one there in like, you know, oh my god, like, you know, it's Phillies. Phillies, Phillies, you know, don't think, you know, Braves fans are definitely feeling this way as well. There's a lot of cocky ones. There's a lot of Phillies fans are too as well. But the realistic reality is the best possibility outcome for both teams is to split.

But regardless what happens in this series, it's going to be even bigger in Atlanta because that's going to determine wherever however this goes. It's going to be even bigger and better over in Atlanta. It's possible. Lewis, can I ask you, are you an Atlanta guy that moved to South Jersey? I know it's a wild card round and it's not anything crazy, but it's a playoff win. You could run it back with Manion, which you've never been able to really get to do before with Jalen. Have an OC and marry it together for a bit. And he's saying that type of season in his eyes should result in Jalen not being the quarterback to following season. How much are we? How much are we? Could do you think how we rose with that scenario would kick Jalen hurts to the curb? I don't think so, but I don't know what the demand would be for contract. I mean, that's

And that's even ridiculous to think with the amount of success that they've had everyone should be back in that situation and that hypothetical everyone should be back in that hypothetical. Now I've made it goes sideways completely sideways like like my only fear is I look at this and I'm like, why why is there so much assuredness that the whole offense had to change? Let's just assume the running

31:58game is better. Does everything have to change? I hear you, but I think at that point it's a tweak and not a full on change. But it sounds like a full on change every time I tune in, now I listen, it's like it's a full on change like, oh, this is going to be so much different. These I'm like, why would it be that much difference for a quarterback that's had this much success to change everything? Well, see, I think we overblow it. I really do. I think there's going to be mechanics that are different. They're going to add and incorporate under center play action. But in the grand scheme of things, it's if you can run the ball efficiently and effectively and that's their DNA and then off of a run design, there is a play action play under center that builds off of that. It's a new wrinkle, but the foundation of running the football, letting that set the tone and having players bite because they think sake one's going to get the ball. Like it's going to be different. They'll be pre snap movement and all that stuff. But I don't think the fundamental view of run heavy lean on your own line, be aggressive with sake one, let that be the bread and butter

33:03and then have plays off of that. I know it's a very vanilla way to look at it, but I don't think it's going to be like as like what's border we watching? You know what I mean? I mean, I've listened now. It's like, oh, it's going to be like Chip Kelly came in all of a sudden and change every thing. It's not going to be like that. Look at NFL. If you're going to be a successful team, to me, your quarterback, your entire judgment becomes third down. That's what it is. And they were in third and long because they couldn't run the ball. Exactly. It's third down on what's going on. And given a fair chance at it, not third and forever, whatever, they have to be better at that. That's where maybe I think that's when you start relying on how comfortable your quarterback is. That's where I'm fearful that in those situations, they force things. Oh, I feel good on third and short. You're giving me third and three with Jalen. I feel. But now you're telling me everything's changing. I don't know. I have felt very comfortable with that. I think it is changing,

34:06but it's not as it is a big change, but I do feel that it's one of those things where, okay, in sports, they say, when you're really good, the difference in going from really good to great is you just the finer details you're tuned. Right. I think it's one of those things where we're tuning and dialing in and detailing, but it's not this insane thing. I don't know if I'm doing a good job explaining this, but it's a problem because it's my job to explain it to the people. But that's how I feel. It's going to have layers and interesting little wrinkles and newness because you can't continue to run the same thing for five seasons in the NFL. Guys like Vic Fangio will pick up on your tendencies like this. So we can't say Vic Fangio is a genius and he figures out OCs and then think we can just run the same thing into the ground for five straight seasons. You got to find newness to keep it fresh and all that stuff, but that's what it more is. It's

35:06keeping up with the times getting fresh, but you're not losing who you are from a fundamental standpoint of what makes you great. If that makes sense. It does. Like I think it comes down to whether or not the Vante Smith can really replace AJ. Like I don't think the drop-off there's going to be that much. I mean, my probably where my big concern is is that drop-off at number two though, because the obviously I think Wix is solid, but he's nowhere near to player to the Vante Smith is, so that is a big drop. And then with Jaylen, I think Jaylen is a pretty good quarterback. I don't think he's going to lead quarterback or a bad quarterback. I think he's a good quarterback. I think he needs to run more and I think he just needs time to get comfortable in this new system. So I think this team now is going to be mainly a defensive team. I think their defense is just absolutely insane.

Well, I guess my argument would be when you do make the tweak and you think about scheme and your players and your personnel and making it all work and blend together, that is what Sean Manian is here to do. 39:16them and they say, here you go. This is what you got. Bring your scheme in and do it your way. There had to have been a conversation a little bit more in depth of how do you take what you do? How do you marry it together with the skill set of our players? And then from there, we push forward. It can't just be, hey, we like Kyle Shanahan's offense, make that work with this guy. It's how can you work with his skill set, his attributes, his strengths, his weaknesses? How do you bring in your strengths, your ideas, your concepts? Look at our wide receiver core. Look at our back. How do we make this work? That is why the offensive coordinator gets paid the money that they do. That's the equation they have to figure out. If it's just this blanket, here's the scheme we like go make it work, then they're misguided to begin with. That's never going to work from a standard practice stamp. That's what I'm hearing. That's why when I hear people say, you know, I won't mind if they go two and three at the beginning because it's going to take a while to

40:20to get this right or whatever to adjust. I'm like, why? You're a good team. Why? Why would you venture that far from the success that you've had? If your success is, this is the core to back we have. Our main focus is don't turn the ball over and play conservative. It's been pretty darn successful. And then last year was an off year in terms of a running game, stuff like that. It's like, so why? Why would you have that big of a change? That's the only thing that worries me about this season. I'm wondering if there was a necessity. And maybe it's just the words. Like you said, people focus so much on the Eagles that we're being kind of sold this thing that there's a monster change. Let me pay you this picture. If they still commit to not turning it over, if they get back to establishing the run and the only thing that changes is the way they pass instead of the same routes that other teams knew were coming in a J stop in eight yards. That basic crap. And those

41:21elements change is that as drastic as it was made out to be because you're still running the ball heavily. You're still working with the idea of we're not turning the rock over. We're keeping the possession of the football in our hands. And you're really just changing how you pass the ball. If you're only passing, I guess my point is this, if you're passing the ball 25 times and not 45 times, which we know they like to do, if you're really just changing how 13 of those 25 throws look and you're running the ball at on and you're still staying with your fundamentals and all that, then would you see that working? Would you see that being enough of a change, but not too much of a change? I would look at it as a change. I mean, that's why I'm an Earth's proponent, like to bring in high into to have that kind of a player. If you're going to want to throw the ball more and go to the middle more stuff like that, that's where I would think, okay, we could use some of that. But overall, I don't I don't find that this was a team that really needed the shake up that some

In fact, I actually did a show where I said, I want them to be because everyone's talking about passing game this that the third and I do value the passing game and we'll talk about the passing game. I want them to get back to that feeling when you knew as the defense going up against Eagles offense, you knew they were running the ball. Yeah. You knew exactly what was coming and you couldn't do anything about it. And by the third quarter, I would watch defensive tackles on the other team, huff and puff because they were out of energy. And guess what? There were two quarters to go. There was 16 minutes left in the game. And we were still going to run the ball down your throat and you couldn't do anything about.
