Available now at fivehourenergy.com or on Amazon. I love this song. And you know what, today's a good day to kind of take a deep breath, and look at our bracket shoe. As the bracket of Hughes, the 64 versions of Hugh Douglas, takes a little pause as the NCAA tournament is as well.
05With the 16 team set, the sweet 16 has been set over the past couple of days. Or let's just update everyone on where we're at on the bracket of Hughes. We'll wrap this thing back up next week and move our way towards the final four. So the four teams that made it through opening weekend in the football guy region, the number nine seed excuse maker Douglas, and the number five seed blue jeans, Hugh. They will face off in the sweet 16. We also had number three seed. We hear now Hugh against the number two seed off the leash Douglas. So Hugh of that region, football guy region. Excuse maker blue jeans. We hear now or off the leash. Who do you like moving forward? Well, you know, it's always, ultimately it's always up to the people. But I like, I like we hear now. We hear now. We hear now. And first off, the leash is a really great match. It's gonna be a good one. That's a good one. I would think the winner that will take down. It's like that's the real final. Yeah, that's the real final. Or at least for the final four. Yes, I think that, whoever wins that goes to final four. All right, then we had the radio guy region.
07And our final four in that region, the sweet 16. The number one seed, bottom down Douglas, who we heard from earlier today. It's going to take on the number 13 seed. I think the biggest Cinderella left in this tournament. Dead air Douglas, bottom down versus dead air. And those two teams will fight against the winner of long talk you against spin doctor Douglas. This might be the deepest region left. It's a very deep final. Hugh, who do you like? Bottom down dead air, long talk or spin doctor to come out of there? I like bottom down. I think it's going to be bottom down and long talker. Bottom down and long talker. I'd be surprised if bottom down does not make the final, does not get to the final four. Long talkings out. Oh, did I write the wrong one down? Did I maybe? Bottom down versus dead air. Dead air. Long talk lost to rent free on the other side. Bottom down dead air, long talk and spin doctor. No rent free beat long talk. Oh, I'm sorry. That's all we got wrong. My bracket had the wrong, excuse me, it's rent free versus spin doctor.
08Well, I have the official bracket back here. Okay. No worries. Well, then you make sure I got these next ones right. Okay, let's go to the actor region. Loose slips or lips loose is going to take on Doug in. Okay. And they will, the bottom of that region is Scrooge McDouglas and 3D Douglas. Yes. Oh, 3D, I think 3D Douglas is a strong contender. I think 3D is going to roll if I'm being honest. It feels like Michigan and the NCAA are surrounding. They're in the final four ready. Okay. Then the final region will be the pop, pop region. And in there we have Tung Tide, you going up against crash out you. And we have life alert against come on home. Am I correct on all those? Yes. I just said one, I wrote the wrong one. That might be my favorite. Is that your favorite for? I am and Tung Tide, crash out, life alert and come on home and crash out. Come on home and crash out. Whoa, you think Tung Tide was just a crash out? Yeah, I think so. I see Tung Tide versus bottom down in the final four. I do too. If I had a guest right now, it's a bottom down Tung Tide 3D
12and we hear now that's how that's what I think the final four will be. You know, I think off the leash comes out of that region. But otherwise, I like where you're at. 3D against bottom down for the all the marbles in a couple weeks. Potential title game, are we? I feel like that's what's going to be it could be. We appreciate everyone participating. That would be that would be an appropriate final. Oh, it would feel big. It would it would feel like the pomp and circumstance for that one. We would we would do a big thing. It would validate the whole bracket. Yeah, it would validate all the man hours spent on this and the time and the nonsense. We appreciate you entertain the foolishness. Well, it's very serious. I'm sorry. It's so serious that I wrote the wrong winner down for one of them. It's just that's my fault. Okay, before we go back to the phone lines and you people, can we can we check in on speaking of foolishness? Morning show versus afternoon show. That bickering does not stop. You thought it would. The camera getting to crow last couple days because you know, he dominated him one and he beat Jack. But it seems like Joe was kind of started to turn his attention to others on the afternoon show. And a couple days ago, throughout some sort of idea that he was actually a better athlete than
16Ike Reese. Word got back to Ike. Here is some of Ike's response on the afternoon show yesterday. This is the message for the morning show. Okay. This is the message for the morning for Joe, specifically us. Exactly. Yes, for Joe to camera. Okay, look in the camera. Joe D. Yeah. Enjoy your victory that you just finished. And that five event competition with my boy, Fritzie. But understand, sometimes it's best to leave when you're on top and let everybody wonder what you could do against one of the real athletes here at the station. No offense, Fritz. No offense. But I'm just saying. Don't ask about it. Yes, I'm just saying. Stepping into this ring. This one hot hot. I'm not Fritz. And that would be pre competition during the competition and after the competition.
16It's not the same. You don't have the all I'm a mentor. I'm going to try to play mind games. That's that. You're going to have to actually put up or shut up against me. And I will embarrass you. The I will embarrass you is such a strong ending to that. Here, your reaction to your guy, Ike, let him to camera. No, if he's going to bark up the wrong tree, what's going to happen? Now, to full disclosure, the camera asked me this morning. Right. And, you know, I'm going to be honest. I told him he was like, hey, you there going to be Ike in a basketball game and I was like, dog. So I'm not going to lie to you. That ain't what you want. I said, Ike is one of the most competitive individuals that I know to this day. So much so that there's been times that he's intimidated me by how competitive he's been. He is. And that's the side. Like, there's a side of Ike that you you never see, you know, because that's that's not who he is. There's a side of John Richie that you never see.
18Because, you know, we're we're few and far between that now. You aged that a little bit. Yeah, we aged out, but that that desire still burns. And I just told him I said, it wouldn't be because he's trying to hurt you, but you would probably get hurt because he's not going to let you score. He's not like his pride when the prior kicks in. It's going to be it's going to be a more of a physical field than you're used to because he's not playing. I mean, when I say he's not playing, it's not like in a it's not like in a aggressive kind of way, but it's like he's a competitor. And anybody that's competed on any level, know exactly what that feels like. It's almost like when you're when you're old, but you still got that dog in you and when somebody challenges you, even if you can't do it, your pride is going to carry you for about five to 10, 15 minutes. And then, you know, reality says in, but it's that five to 15 minutes that he's going to push through. Like that's how that's how athletes are wired and that's Ike. He's going to push through all whatever he's feeling.
18He's going to push through that and it's going to be bad for you. So I was like, no, you don't want that. Just leave that man alone. It's about to go from the guy with the least amount of fire in his eyes, like no fire in his eyes to the guy with the most. Yeah. All you needed to know or here was Jack's reaction to being challenged was like, all right, fine, whatever. You could feel like you could feel the ice like you don't want it. I will embarrass you. Yeah, because he's not he's not going to for him. It's competition. I haven't been out there on the golf course waiting, but I know when he plays golf, he's there serious about like wants to compete. Yeah, he's a competitor. Yeah, there is. Look, if they if they did it, I'd watch and I would consume every second of it. If they had a competition. But to me, it brings kind of brings back the reality of, and I mentioned the word reality earlier of WIP when we all when we do these shows, right? And I truly believe this is what makes the station special. We can have a football debate and I believe I'm right and you may think the opposite and we have fun and we go back and forth.
18And the same thing with I can spike the same thing with Joe and John, right? Like just we're we have we just see the game differently. Sometimes players and that's cool. Everybody see that we don't all watch that. Of course, but then we're all fans, right? That's what makes this radio station work. But sometimes you got to step back and realize like you when it comes to being an athlete, we're not the same. Like I'm not the same as you and Ike's not the same as spike and Joe and like it's just a little I don't know if Joe clearly ahead of Jackson. Yes. Well, that's but that's not the same class. Well, you know what we found out last week? Jack lived for a while in this in between where he he was a higher level athlete than me and spike in most of the non professional players. But now the as the world turns, Jack is way closer to me. Yeah, he's transitioned. He's transitioned way closer to just a guy than he is a professional athlete. So it checks with us. But there is that difference here. I I played high school and I was done and then I played in our murals. You were an all pro in the NFL and I'm not sure if Joe realizes that the athletic difference.
20Well, it's it's not like it's not even that. It's it's about competing because you can go I can go to LA fitness or any other gym that has a basketball hoop and you find catch that compete on a daily basis. Yeah. Hell, you can find them catch that plate in the in the flag football game this week in that compete. It's different when you play against people that have that want to. Sure. It's not even about it's not even about Ike being a professional or a former professional athlete. But he does have a huge advantage that he has an advantage. But it's more so for me that competitive spirit that even if safe instance. Ike goes out there and it just as a motivator. Hey, he said something about my kids. I'm not going to let that go. Like that's that's how you motivate yourself because you think about things like that. You think about what your son alive is going to say. If you you lose to Joe the camera or something like that. Like those are the motivating factors that you don't think about when you're in a position like that. And I just like I said, played tennis with Ike. We played against John McEnroe. I really thought we had a chance to be John McEnroe.
23Like y'all don't understand how stoked he was and how competitive. And I'm looking at him. He mad at me because I am not as excited and as stoked as he is. Like that's how competitive this man is. So yeah, into those ball start flying all around the place 100 miles an hour. And he realized that we're in a bad spot. But no, that's that's that's Ike in the nutshell. He's gonna he's gonna compete. He's definitely going to compete. My guess is Joe's going to back off now. I would say I would think. Hey, listen, he might as well put it. You might want to go for it. Hey, might as well see where you at. You didn't you didn't talk to all traffic with the last couple of days. He's been running his mouth. Go ahead, see where you at. Yeah, that might be the wrong tree to bark. All right, go for it. Hey, Joe, if you're listening, go ahead, go for it. We will keep our eyes and ears on the nonsense. Between the morning and the afternoon show. All right, let's have before we go to you people. Let's let's check in with Sean and Newark. What's up, Sean? Hey, how are you doing? Everybody? Let me go. Hey, Sean, what's going on? Yeah, that whole you think you I agree with you just to chime in.
25Since you guys are talking about that with like I've played a lot of sports when I was younger, but in gyms that occasionally had a chance to play against people that were retired. Available now at fivehourenergy.com or on Amazon. Basil, it's just a joke. It's like go look a Brian Scalaberry on YouTube. He's like pushing 50 years old. Everyone clowns him when he was in the NBA. And he's like, even now I can go kick everybody's butt.
33And then he does it. He plays like these guys in their 20s and are superstar. He's like on the playground. And then he goes 48 years old and just beats the crap out of him. Of course. I mean, yeah, like the worst NBA player, yeah. Of course, they are. The worst NBA player or a guy like Iku is a solid linebacker and especially for years. There's so much more athletic than the average talk show host. Ikuis wasn't just a solid linebacker. He was somebody that made it to the NFL, which is a highest level. He played a decade on an individual level. He made it to 2004. That's right. And on a team level played the Super Bowl. And then somehow Joe makes a couple of jump shots that would reject the camera. Now, I'm ready for right now. I'm ready for the next level. You know, it's like, come on, Joe. Joe, the camera needs to stop breathing his own fumes. You know, he's breathing his own turn of end on, you know. Excuse me. Go ahead, Joe. What do you think on the fills? Well, on the fillies, I was all on your side with the Bryce Harper. And the easiest thing to say about the Bryce Harper,
34it's not his fault. That's not why the fillies are losing every year. And you already know why it's their non elite manager. But to go with Bryce Harper, like if you were to look at last year's playoffs objectively, like in a major league, and you just say, okay, well, who was the best player in the playoffs last year? The best team with the Dodgers and probably show, hey, Otani was the best player who had the best playoffs. Okay. Who had a better playoffs when he played against Bryce Harper? Bryce Harper or Shelley Otani? Bryce. Bryce, yep. So how is that possible? How could Shelley Otani be the best guy in the playoffs that we remember from last year? And Bryce Harper isn't. And it's because of the second part when the guy called earlier and was saying how dumb Topper was and bringing Durant and all that. And then all of a sudden, Joe, you lost me. You flipped back over on that side. And you're like, yeah, that was what else could you do? That was a smart decision at the time. And I'm like, what are you talking about? That's what I said. I was with the, I was with the car. I didn't like the decision to walk Otani. I didn't like that decision. And not just that, but you made a comment about Durant like as if that wasn't a bad decision to bring in Durant.
35Well, I don't know. No, no, no. I don't think it was a bad idea to bring Durant in the seventh. The reason it's a bad decision to bring in Durant is the moment you bring in Durant. First off, you're taking Christopher Sanchez out of the game. Once again, throwing a shot out in the playoffs. So on its surface, that's going to matter. We've argued this for three straight days. Forget that for a second. Forget that for a second. Bottom down, Joe. Well, once they made the decision to go to the bullpen, whether we agree or not, Durant is not a bad idea there. He's your best relief pitcher. And Otani is coming up. Now, walking about Otani on purpose and given Durant no wiggle room with bets coming up, that's what I disagreed with. All right, the reason it's a bad decision is because first off, 85 Otani isn't the whole issue. You got to play a game. Once you bring Durant in, you're committing to bring a Durant in a way that he doesn't. That's not how he's used. He comes in with a clean knife, and then he shuts down the knife. Who did you want in the game? Who did you want? Now you're asking him, you're saying, I don't want you to do that.
35I want you to come in like way into seventh inning. We're going to load the bases for you. So you have no margin of error. Let's say you had to do with that thing. Is that something you're used to? And then who did you want in? Who did you want in? Who did you want in? You didn't bring in Lazardo. And then you're committing to bring in Kirkring in the ninth. And it is Kirkring the exact same guy that blew a different shot out of you. Yes. I'm just wondering who you wanted in the game. Who did you want in the game when Sanchez came out? I want Chris Sanchez in the game. That's not the debate, Sean. I love you, man. But like we're arguing circles here. I know. He wants to call and argue about the Toppers decisions with you every day. I can't wait for Friday. I mean, whatever Topper does tomorrow, Sean and I are going to argue about it on Friday. Even the best part is I mostly agree with him. Most of these debates, I'm not even having a debate with him. He's just yelling. Fine, you wanted to keep Sanchez in. Well, he didn't do that. Then what? Duran is, you got to go to Duran there. I'm sorry. The season's on the line. He's your best picture. They just traded for him. It's enough. All right, can we go to you people? You people. It's time to hear from you people.
39What do you mean you people? That's good. It feels like people are ready for Phil's season. You know, I thought about quickly when James was here, I set them off here. We haven't had a game that we have reacted too strongly here in a long time. Yeah, well, I mean the six or so we are there to camera versus well, that, you know what? That felt like the closest thing since the Eagle season ended. So we're ready. We're ready. Yep. Okay. Here comes three idiots and a mustache. Three idiots and a mustache. That's what we're all doing. Oh, there's the mustache. It's all the three and it's a mustache is a separate entity. Wow. Wow. Okay. News flash. Morons, AJ is still an eagle. Morons is good. That's a good one. Like the news flash as if we didn't know, as if we're not aware of all this. We didn't really even mention AJ today. Not really. No, just to allow you more questions, who Elliot? Yep, we hit Phil's pretty heavy. I actually, Elliot made a pretty good point. Keep an eye on his Instagram, social media. He's just walking the filly or... Can't wait to play with you. He had a sum to that effect. But if he doesn't, then it's nothing, he's probably just. Yeah. He will find a way to spend that.
39How dare you, Joe Gileo. How dare you, what do you do? I don't know what I did. Suggest the fillies might win a lot of games with Bryce Harper, doesn't play great. How dare you do? Even though it happened last year. All right, we did ask the poll question. Do the fillies need an elite season for Bryce Harper? One of the responses was, Dom is question ever. I'm assuming that guy missed the question yesterday that picked up a lot of traction because people thought that one was the dog. Actually, every poll we put up, somebody says, Dom is question ever. That is the same case. We have to have a different bar of what the Dom is question ever is. I mean, we've had some dumb questions. Today was that thought. So I'm gonna need everybody to just deep breath. It's a poll question, guys. You know how people are. A lot of I believe in hate you, die. Really, die everyone. Everybody seems so wrong. It is, you know what? It's so funny. Die is the most final you can get, you know what it is. You know, we'll final, didn't it? That's the end. Yep. Another response that I liked was, get a life. This is our life. Well, this is better or for worse. This is what we do.
40This is what we do. So, you know, you're the one commenting on a Twitter poll. We're actually doing our job. I don't know what get a life means. You're the one doing this is a hobby. I've committed to this. This is my life. Yeah. You're just on a Twitter poll. We're here. We're here. We're here now. Yes. Yes, we are. Our guy, Darian checked in today. Love George is misunderstood and underrated. Misunderstood perhaps. I don't know if he's underrated. I don't know about either of those. Well, I don't know what he was on. I think he made himself very clear that he is a wash player and needed drugs and time. That's how you read that. Well, that's what he said. You know, yeah, his what he said to you. Yeah, 25 games into the season and the season was pretty fresh. Yeah. Imagine getting suspended at work and then come back. You know, actually, that was great for me. I needed a time. I could see you do it. Oh. You suspended from work. And then go back and be like, I needed this. I'm refreshed. And then be messy immediately. You've got to spin it in a positive way. No. Why do we have to put a positive spin in everything? Hey, I was suspended. Why couldn't he get up to your ass and say,
40I made a mistake. I'm sorry. I'm trying to tell you stop trying to see the good and everything. It's ridiculous. See the bad. See the bad. No, I want to see it. See more bad. But sometimes there's not good. Paul George took something he wasn't supposed to. Yeah. That's okay. It's okay to think he's a loser for that. Yeah. It's fine. He's a loser before. Anyway, Jack looking like TK today. That lost to the camera must be hitting him pretty hard. I guess he looks short. He doesn't look like TK. Not low T. Yeah. You know, low T in the build. Is that more of an insult for Tom that somebody looking like they're down on their lock? It looks like him. Yeah. That's an insult for Jack. It's not good for either. For being honest. That is kind of crazy. Wow. Joe, Hugh, Kyle, Fritz and Celter, everyone in one room that I want fired. That is crazy. Who else? Tell us for next you. We'll bring everybody in here. This man's cleaning house at WIP. I don't think you're a place. All of us at once. That's a lot of people. Think about it. That's our entire show. Yeah. And that's the three main day part producers. Yeah. That's a lot.
41That's a lot of over. I don't want. I mean, I don't want to see Lincoln trying to jump out. You get a man. Maybe I want to be around. Yep. What the hell is Seth talking about right now? I guess I'm, sir. I guess I'm, sir. That's another. No, you're black. Yeah. No, you're black. No, black people. I'm not. Sorry. Sorry. You know what? I can get you guys opposed. You know, I shake. I got that. I shake it. Oh, do you think it's because you have a fresh. Yeah. You came on home. I came on home, dog. Because that ball spot was ball spot. Yeah. It was tough. It was tough for you. 1971, Hugh. That is all. Yeah. That goes a good year. That's the whole year. So one thing we didn't get to today was the Phillies. It came out last night that 20 million of the Christopher Sanchez contract is deferred. It's the first time the Phillies are going to defer money in a contract with the Dodgers do and stuff. So you know what I thought about when I saw the news? The Phillies are going to be paying Christopher Sanchez when you're well into your 70s. Oh, that's a good, that's good for you. Yeah. Well, of course. Well, it's good for the Phillies. Yeah. I'll be just in his late 40s, 50s, 50s, yeah.
43I'll be brother myself. Hugh's going to be. Oh, this is a little. Oh, it's getting me up. I'll be fine. Ready. Go up. I'll be fine. Everything's still working. I'm cool. Hold on. You have to live Sanchez's contract. No, I'm just saying if everything's still working, I'm cool. If it's not, take me now. That would be it. That would be it. I'm like, no. That would be it.
