Astronomers have mapped an immense halo of gas surrounding our nearest large galactic neighbour -- the Andromeda galaxy M-31.

An upcoming NASA mission could find that there are more rogue planets - planets that float in space without orbiting a star - than what there are stars in the Milky Way galaxy.
