Hey, this is Richard Ditch, the host of the Sports Media Podcast. If you're interested in what's happening with all the places where you consume sports, the Sports Media Podcast has you covered. I've been turning down interviews all week. A coat of coffee, reached out. Oprah, George Stephanopoulos. So I said no. I was booked on the Ditch Podcast before the Taylor Swift phenomenon. I must live up to my responsibility. Listen wherever you get your podcasts. We'll start with this. Stephan Diggs for the New England Patriots was sort of that final piece to the receiver room to really add some veteran sort of grit and playmaking ability. But what the Patriots did is really what the Patriots have done for the last several decades. Honestly, as they move on maybe a season too early rather than a season too late. Stephan Diggs has legal issues. He's been very much of the news before the Super Bowl. He also was going to be 33 years old. He also do a lot of money. The Patriots had some doubts about his availability or his plays,

just actual ability going forward. They decided to move on now. But the other part of this is what do they have up their sleeve is right? Would be surprised if the Patriots ended up trading for a wide receiver. AJ Browne, we're going to get to in a second, would certainly be the name to discuss here. He's been with Mike Vrable. They have not been shy about making some big moves. I would say what the New England Patriots have in store for us over the next week is going to be really fascinating where they add to the receiver or a big piece somewhere else. They now have kind of cleared the decks salary cap lives. Hi, noon, Jones and Keith, WEEI. One name out for the Patriots. They've been linked to DJ Moore. He is now a Buffalo Bill. I still don't see the official compensation. Rappsheets said mid-round pick. So I'm guessing that means third-rounder from Buffalo, 91. Fourth-rounder, 126. No. Nick, can you pot up, Keith?

Oh, there he is. There we go. Hey, there we go. I was talking. Yeah, I heard it. I was like crap. My head was rolled in back here. But nobody could hear it. I couldn't hear it, but that's all my headphones have. It was a good point. I'm sure it was really good stuff. It was so funny. I didn't mean it if you want me to. Nah, I put it in the deleted scenes. Yeah, but like DJ Moore, not coming off a good year. You mentioned three of the last four years under a thousand years. Yeah, at one point, he looked like a real number one receiver. And when Chicago got him, I was like, hey, good get for Chicago. They're loading up. They gave Caleb Williams a good receivers. He's pretty underwhelming. Like, I'd take him. Don't get me wrong. I would take him on the team. I think he's more consistent and better than Booty, Douglas, or Hollins. But I'd rather have Steph Diggs than DJ Moore. I actually think more because he's younger. Yeah. Okay. And I think I also, I don't like Caleb. I don't like Caleb. And there's a lot of mouths to feed in that offense where they're working in new guys. And look, if I said this about Alex Pierce, I'm like, if he's a true alpha, I think he'd stand out a lot more.

So if you want to hold some of that against DJ Moore fine, I think he's played with a lot of crappy quarterbacks. And I think with May, it would work, but there's some projection there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I would have said he's an upgrade on digs. He's now a bill. I think AJ Brown, who Rav Sheet mentioned, is an upgrade on digs. Other than that, I'm not sure there is one. You went through the free agents. Evans, I don't think is. I think there's too many injury question marks with him. If you tell me he's playing 17 games, he's better than digs. He's not doing that. I don't think he's had hamstring issues that have plagued him for years. He had the clavicle last year on top of it. I don't think Alex Pierce is an upgrade on digs. I know a lot of Patriots fans are talking themselves into Alex Pierce. I don't think he's an upgrade at all. I think he's a souped up case on booty. Never mind Romeo, dobs, Jawan Jennings. Wondale. You like teeny itty bitty. Wondale. Wondale Robinson. Tyree kills on that list too. Yep. I don't think he's an upgrade. No, it's pretty underwhelming. The bills needed a receiver more than the Patriots did. Even without digs, they needed one more.

I really am underwhelmed by their entire room. Do you think they're going to, yeah, like, shift or just tweeted out, he's like, here are the bills weapons. He's like, it's DJ Moore. They don't have it. It's James Cook. No, James Cook. Don't contain. I'm like, you can stop right there, dude. Stop right there. Khalil Shakir, who I like. Not a, that's not a weapon. That's just like a nice little receiver. It's not a weapon who the GM and the coach all hate. So it's like, it's, it's not very good, but it's improved. I'll give him that. DJ Moore is an improvement. I don't think the bills should stop there. I think they should treat like the Yosem Pan. Do you think they're done? I think. She'd again said they are, they are not. He says they are out on AJ Brown now after this. So maybe they're out on AJ Brown because you're now talking about more trades. But like, are they in on Mike Evans or maybe even Alec Pierce? Like, that's different. They have been linked to Evans a lot. Yeah, I could see that because, you're like, hey, here's one trade and one signing. Cause don't you think, I mean, I know they just gave their GM some more power, but they just put it all on the feet of Sean McDermott for how they haven't been able to break through. And now all eyes are on this guy. So you better help out Josh Allen.

You don't want it to be another one of these years. Cause like, even when Josh Allen was had his best teams, they didn't make the Super Bowl. So it's not like the homes are Brady for a couple of years where you're like, hey, you can win a Super Bowl without those guys. He never even made one. So like, even with, as you said, with weapons like Diggs. So they need to, they need to help him out even more. This is a good baseline though, I would say. Yeah, it's a better floor to be like, hey, we at least start with DJ Moore. Well, they should get somebody else. Brandon Bean, who are the radio hosts of Buffalo? Oh, they've torched them. He's like, yeah, good call about the receivers. Or he's like, what I can't remember what he said. We played that on the show. Yeah, we definitely did. Calling out the morning. He was like, on hold, I think, and heard them ripping the draft or the, the bad receiver rule. They're like, good call, good call guys. And now he has to go out and sl, now he gets, his coach gets fired. Right. Uh, he fired the coach. Well, it's in the last few minutes of your show before taking all the weight down here. All right. Sounds like 2018 all over with you guys. Oh, yeah. Right. Cause they, they must have hated them drafting Josh Allen, which that one they were wrong about in your face. Yeah, they were wrong about that one.

That was a good pick. Well, you guys were bitching in 2018 about Josh Allen. You guys want to Josh Rosen. And now you guys are bitching that we don't have a receiver. Well, they weren't right about that though. Well, they don't have a receiver. Yeah, they're right about the, uh, Rosen over Allen. Right. So did I feel that way in that draft? I might, but uh, but yeah, I, I definitely didn't. I didn't hate Josh Rosen. I like Josh Allen. I didn't like say you're a Arnold. You're a Wyoming guy. Yeah. Well, that's it. Yeah, that's true. I liked Baker and I liked Alan. But anyway, um, so was he trying to prop up Keon Coleman, which then like later on, he's trying to like, play McDermott for us. So it's like that's a weird situation. But regardless of whether radio hosts like the picks are not on the field, they did not have good receivers. Oh, and so they get DJ Moore. That makes the bills better. But I don't know if it's like, oh, no, look out. Like it's not one of those situations. No, they're better and you're worse. Cause no, I still sitting here today. Again, March 5th, I hate the digs move. Now you're telling me there's another shoe to drop legally. Like the Patriots dug in on what he's accused of. And they know it's not going to be pretty.

And so they're getting out while they can. If we find that out, well, then I get it. If it's an off field thing with digs, I honestly get it more. If it's an on field thing or like a money thing, I, I hate it. And you could improve on it. You said this earlier, Keith, I think it's well said. Like digs is not irreplaceable. He's not Justin Jefferson or Jamar Chase or Randy Moss or someone like that. I'm okay moving on from him. If the replacement is better, they say, okay. Pretty much now the answer is AJ Brown. That's it. I think unless there's somebody we're not thinking of that could spin loose, like we did have a texture say like Justin Jefferson's got to be pretty pissed in Minnesota. Yep. It's like, yeah, but then that's like a Max Crosby level trade. Brian Thomas Jr. is he an upgrade? Yeah. I guess I would. I think maybe that's just no. Pickens is an upgrade. They're not going to get picked, but pickens is an upgrade. Yeah, Thomas is, but like if you think DJ Moore's an upgrade, can't you make the case that like a younger version of Brian Thomas with a better quarterback would be enough? Totally, you can. Maybe I would. I would take that one. Like I at least are addressing the room and I could pencil him in as the number one.

He had to live up to it. I think his rookie year he was really good. He's been better more recently than DJ Moore, I think. Brian Thomas. He was better with Mac Jones than Trevor Lawrence. It's weird. Yeah. Yeah, so I don't know what to say about that. I would take I would take him two years ago. He was looked like unbelievable. Then last year they went out and drafted Travis Hunter and traded for Jacobi Myers and started playing Parker Washington over him. And I'm not saying any of those guys were bad. Like Myers was good. Parker Washington can play, but he got he got passed by on the Dept chart there. Yeah, because the other guys like it doesn't seem to be any other names out there. You know, we had last year Chris Olave was a name, but now it seems like he's going to stay with the Saints and like they got their quarterback maybe because we know ball Tyler Schuck, Tyler Schuck. Who else is moving teams? I don't really think anybody else look at the like the top receivers last year. Like you said, I'll pay much there. If the name comes out of the woodwork and we say, Oh, that's actually a great option. Well, then great. Twitch chat is saying there's no chance you get BTJ. I also don't think he's going to get dealt with.

We'll see what about Jamison Williams? So the line is just traded David Montgomery away. If they I like I like Jamison boys. Yeah. Now he big play guy. Well, yeah, but I think he's big play. I think he's a little different in terms of big play versus Alec Pierce. I like him better than Alec Pierce. Yeah, and I he's I think he's more run after the catch big play. Yeah, like take a slant and go 80 yards. Oh, he's slippery. Then like 50 yards down the field. Alec Pierce big play, but but they're big play receivers. Zero rumor on that. I'm just saying if Detroit's already trading one half of their sonic and knuckles backfield, they have I'm on the rough same brown. They paid a ton of people and they drafted a receiver last year. They drafted Tesla. Oh, that's right. Who actually wasn't bad? No, he's whenever he played. He caught a touchdown. So maybe Jamison Williams is a guy that could be available for the right price. Interesting. Jordan Addison on the text line. I'd take him. If you're worried about all field stuff, that's not a guy to bring in. Not at all. He gets arrested every off season. Uh, do you give a rest of last off season? Maybe it'll be clean this off season. I think he's or I think he's already had an issue this off season. I think. Okay. Yeah, I think he literally broke into a casino.

We're breaking it into a casino form. They open it for hours a day. Look, the good news. The good news on Jordan Addison. He's already gotten it out of the way. His off season incident. He's already gotten out of the way. Casino. That was like was it during the playoffs? Jesus. Yeah, I think when they drafted Jack Jones, it was like, that was the guy that robbed the Panda Express? I guess it. Yeah, it's massive. Yeah. Don't worry. Good football character though on him. Let's see, let's see, let's see. Oh, a bunch of people are texting digs back to Buffalo. No chance. I think there was a little bit of an issue there at the end. Like no chance. They wouldn't just kept them. Yeah, now he'd be. Honestly, the bills could use them. Yeah. What's the best spot for digs? Chiefs? I said chiefs earlier. I didn't even look. Are there odds on digs? I should, I should a double check. I haven't seen it. My initial knee jerk reaction is chiefs. But that's just completely, you know, my brain. I haven't seen it anywhere. Sorting back to Jordan Addison, he was arrested for trespassing in a restaurant in a casino. They asked him to leave at 3.46 in the morning and he wouldn't leave. That's what this report says anyway.

It's 3.46, a lot like Jack Jones. A restaurant there? I mean, I guess you'd be like pizza. It's a surprise. Well, Panda, it's really a misdemeanor though. First degree, misdemeanor. I, well, it's just, for him, a misdemeanor is nothing. That's no problem. He's turning around. So anyways, I, I don't know where digs is going to wind up. I don't know, but my, the chiefs feel like a fit to me. And, you know, I, I think football, he's a leader. I don't think he wants crazy money. I don't think, let's see what he gets. I can't imagine there's a massive market for him, which I, I guess, I guess in some ways that's, that proves the Patriots moving. If there's not a massive market for him and not a lot of interest in him, and he doesn't get a big deal, that does kind of back up the Patriots that the rest of the league views digs as, you know, his best days are behind them. So somebody had texted this earlier, but do you think there's any chance he comes back here? So I don't either, because all the time, what he put out on social media is like, it was, it was, it was, although it was the nicest farewells he's had to have. No, what it was.

That is true, actually. All right. Hang on, the exact wording on what he put out yesterday. He's on his way. He's on his way. Thank you for a hell of a year. We're family forever, hard emoji at Patriots. Like, I don't sound like I was coming back. No, because I feel like the reporting was different when Dante Hightower or Julian Edelman or I think even Devin McCordy were sort of allowed to see what else was out there, then come back. But then they all ended up recycling. None of those guys were released. He's getting released. Like, those guys were just free agents and got to free agent. He was released. Yeah. I'm just, but like, if there's no, so he's not going to the bills. That's out. Yeah, they're out. He's not going to the Vikings. He's probably not going to the Texans. I feel like the Patriots, there's a chance he could sound back with. I still say no. I'm with you. My god is no, but what if he goes out there and he has a week before the league year begins and he's like, there's nothing out there? Well, then that all give the Patriots credit. And I'll say, wow, they put a hard ball with him and they got him back on a lower number. And I don't really care about your, you know, your bookkeeping. Yeah. But good for you, good business decision. You got digs back, no harm to fail. I mean, that's what I would say if that happens.

I don't think that's going to happen. Yeah, but also it's like, now it's like, we're not really negotiating with you. It's like, we're done. Like that contract's over with. So we can't even fall back on like, well, I do have this contract, you know, like they, because they weren't going to pay him that for the upcoming season. So now it's like, that's not even on the table anymore. Literally done. Here's a DJ more stat for you. All right, that's all you need to do. It used to be stats. Sound the week number and E? Yeah, well, no, I don't like the stat that much. ESPN used to be stats and info. It's now ESPN insights. Stinks. Stats and info. So much cool. That's me. HBO Go Max out of here. Here's a stat, they just tweeted out. DJ Brown is one of five players. What did I say? DJ Brown. DJ Moore. I'm sorry. DJ Brown some great songs. AJ Brown on the, on the brain. DJ Moore. DJ Tanner. How about DJ? How about DJ's tomorrow? DJ, DJ Mount Rushmore. DJ Scratch and stuff. We've done, we've done that. DJ, DJ Jeff, DJ. DJ, DJ, DJ, DJ. We have definitely, I honestly, we've, we've done. Yeah, we did. We did a lot more for DJ's because I remember you saying Scratch a sniff and then the guy, and then the guy probably, I probably said the guy who would risk it.

Yeah, lethal. Yeah, lethal. DJ Tanner. Lamehu. Oh, good one. Damn, that guy. I got a rope. You said Lamehu last time. Lamehu at a, yeah, it's just, with just repeating exactly what we said. We're in a simulation. I don't know if you guys subscribe to the simulation theory, but that's all deja vu is. DJ Moore, not DJ Brown. What a five players with 50 plus catches. DJ, Jazzy Jeff. I just said that one. You did? Yes. Just now, I probably said it the first time we did it. And I just said it. I was trying to listen to Nick. Not you. Your headphones are cutting it out over there. A little, a little peek behind the curtain. Headphones are cutting it out over there. That is true. Yeah, DJ Moore won a five players with 50 plus catches on throws of 20 plus air yards, Keith. Okay. Over the last five years. You ready for the list? Outpears. No. Oh, CD Lame. Justin Jefferson. Tyree Kill. George Pickens. That's good. It's a good list. Now it says last five years. How many of these were five years ago? They're all five years ago. Yeah, and they didn't do any of it last year or the year prior. That is a stat that his agent has.

It is putting out there for people to be like, Oh, by the way, look at the list that he's on. He's just as good as those guys. It is a good list. He's not six, one, seven, seven, seven, nine, seven, ninety, three, seven. Every Thursday at high noon. Yes. Ish. We go on the clock. And we've had some football news to react to today. Diggs no longer a patriot. DJ Moore on the move. Could the Patsby and on AJ Brown is an Alec Pierce. More thoughts on all this coming up with the trade deadline tomorrow, Keith, a little more than 24 hours away. We thought today would be a good day to go on the clock and discuss the Bruins at the trade deadline. You want to go 60 seconds here for Keith Nick. Yeah. All right, here we go. The Bruins are clinging to the final playoff spot with 22 games to go in the regular season. The goal is clear, make the playoffs. Trade deadline is tomorrow. Bruins have two first round picks. They're on second, they're on third, and three fourth round picks. I'm not asking them to mortgage the future for this team. I really don't think they can win a cup, but they're in a spot where they should secure a playoff spot. So I'm using those fourth round picks, if need be.

Not all of them, I'm using those, or even as high up as a second round pick, to help this team right now, I would add a depth defenseman and even a depth forward. I'm also on Morgan Geeky 50 goal watch. That's right, 50 goal watch. He's currently on pace for 45. So if he steps it up a little bit over these next 20, Morgan Geeky could be a 50 goal score, and then it's gonna have to be the big three that carries him. Jeremy Swamin is look good in the two games that he has played since the Olympic break. I'm not playing him every game, obviously. I'm not playing him half the game somewhere in between. Two-thirds of the game's rest of the way. Get him ready for the playoffs. He's gonna have to carry you in there. Gonna need him to lock in. Gonna need sway to lock in. The old sway is back, according to Marco Stern. That's what the sermonator said. When he was very sexual. Yeah. Oh, sorry. Yeah, dig it off. A little bit of a little sorry. He's very much. Yes. There's at least what he sounds like. So that is Keith on the Bruins at the deadline in 60 seconds. You want to jump in on the phones with your own plan. You can. 617-779-793-7.

How about I go on the clock here, Nick? Bruins at the deadline in 60 seconds. They are a playoff team. For my money, sit second in the wild card, inching up on the first wild card spot. Hell, they might finish third in the Atlantic at this rate. So I think they are a team worth investing in, I think, surprisingly. They've actually been a fun team to watch this year. And I do believe selling or missing the playoffs would constitute a failure for Don Sweeney. So he needs to go out and hold off the other teams around them in the standings. You know, other teams are going to fortify. They're going to supplement their roster. They're going to get better. You have to as well. So where do you upgrade the team? They've exceeded scoring expectations a little bit. 12 in goals for this year, though that number is dropping. They've underachieved a little bit, keeping pucks out of the net this year. They're middle of the pack goals against, so that number is increasing. I want to keep my first round pick. I want to keep James Higgins. Other than that, it's all on the table. You have to do what it takes to add to this team, scoring depth in your bottom six, maybe a cost controlled second line center

at a right shot D. And I think that's what you do with the trade deadline. No first rounder, no Higgins, everything else available. Yeah, because I feel like having the two first round pick that if you hold on to those two, great. Now, you also go back into the Don Sweeney is pretty good at everything but drafting. Yeah, and so you're like, all right, what are you even going to do with those first round picks? Because he usually is pretty good at deadlines. Like, if you look at the history of Don Sweeney, I would say it's way more positive. We make the joke like if he could do the deadline for Breslo and then Breslo could do everything else for you know what I'd be like, one of those kind of things. But I think it gives you the ability to say, all right, we're not sacrificing the future by any means, even a couple of your top prospects. You hang onto those guys and your number one picks, but you traded so many players away last year and got so many picks in return. And you've got to be a little bit better than you expected. The fact that you're holding onto a playoff spot right now, just make sure that you're there. And so many times just making a move or two, even if it's a minor move, tells the whole team like, guys, we're in it to win it. We're not going to fade into the good night

and miss the playoffs and go into the off season. We're going to, we're going to try to play spoiler here come playoff time. You think, you think Hagen's could come up like McAvoy style, you think Hagen's could come up and help the team by the end of the year? Maybe. I saw, I saw a four media member Joe Haggard, you can hear him in some commercials here. I saw him tweeting about that with Dave Pagnata, like the buzz is that when BCC's in his over, he's here helping the Bruins. I mean, I would look at that as that'd be cool. That's not something to plan on. That's like, if he comes here and he helps the team and he gives you a little boost, Torrey Krueb did that late in the year. Then yeah, I think that'd be a great thing, but that's not your trade deadline move. That's not, oh, way, we're getting Hagen's here. In a month or two, that's like an extra little cherry on top. 617-779-793-7, I'm not sure how we missed this DJ, Keith. DJ Bean. DJ Bean. It's a big miss by us. Good, good, good, good, good, good friend of the show. Yeah, let me double check the number. That could be DJ texting in, but he would belong on that for sure.

I'll get to your feedback. 617-779-793-77, who that's a great DJ. You can give us your Bruins plans in just 30 seconds. We get 60 seconds, but you guys get 30 on the phones. Plus, what is the Patriots plan now that Diggs is gone? I don't think he's coming back. Now that DJ Moore is above the low bill, how aggressive will the Patriots get on the wide receiver market? Reports are, they're going to be aggressive. I will see. And we'll talk our way through that right after trending with Billy Lanny. Now, here's what's trending on WWE. That had some conversations with sources informed about what's happening there. My understanding is teams aren't making offers to the Eagles for a trade. And to this point, they have not gotten to the point at which the Eagles would make the move. In their mind, it's a Quinn Williams type deal. We're talking a potential first round pick with a second round sweetener on it. That's kind of where it is for the Eagles to start to consider moving AJ Brown. If they don't get close to that point or to that point,

I don't think how he really moves them. I think he keeps AJ Brown in the fold. He's a really good player. He is highly valued inside that building. Now right now, all the money that's committed to AJ, if he remains with the team is affecting their ability to sign other for like they'd like to have Dallas got it back right now. But they don't know necessarily whether or not they're going to be able to pay AJ Brown or have to pay AJ Brown. So that's sort of affecting business. But in the meantime, the Eagles not feeling like, well, we have to trade AJ. Our team's going to come up and make that offer to meet that price. You just heard Mike Garafolo there on how he rosman and the Eagles, Adam Schefter, just a few moments ago, on McAfee. Here's a quote I'm reading from the McAfee account. I don't believe there's a chance in hell. The Eagles would move AJ Brown and less than included a first round pick. That's something the Eagles would tell you to say. Yeah, well, this is what I saw between Garafolo, Quinn and Williams type trade. Schefter, not a chance in hell. They do it without a first round. Over my dead body. Well, remember, this is Adam Schefter. I don't think they trade Garabolo for four first round picks, which I think was a second. I think Schefter was told, but I think that was the Patriots over playing their leverage. Maybe the Eagles were doing that too. Would you give up 31 for AJ Brown? Yeah, I would. Do you think they're going to have to? No, me neither. No, I don't think they have to, but I would. I guess push comes to shove. I would go to 31 to get him, I guess, knowing that's what the actual cost is. I don't think that's the actual cost. I'm with you.

I think it's how he rosman, yeah, bluffing. It's a little bit easier, I think, for the Patriots to justify that than it would be another team. I mean, even the, I guess the bills aren't that much higher, but like the bills are 26. So like, you know, other teams when you're looking at it, like, what would they do? The chiefs are nine. I was just going to say, there's chiefs aren't doing that. No, but the chiefs would do 40 whatever. Yeah, right. And so to beat, to beat 42 wherever they are, you have to give up 31. All right. If that's a, if that's a real battle, then I, I guess I would do that because I don't like the other receiver options. I don't want to pay Alec Pierce. I don't really love the other options out there. So I guess I would. I don't know if it's the greatest business decision, but I'd hold my nose and I'd go there. Yeah. I don't think you're going to have to do that. I think he goes for a second round pick. Yeah, I think that's probably what it's going to be. Once the DJ Moore pick officially comes out, that'll also be pretty telling, right? If it's like a fourth or a fifth instead of like a third, maybe that changes the dynamic a little bit, just sort of like, all right, when a receiver's going for this off season, but my guess is AJ Brown go for two, or that's where you get into the semantics. Like, it's a two and like a four next year

and like all that other stuff, but like the main point would be a second round pick. But no, now that we're here and it's like, Steph Diggs is gone. Now, I'm like, all right, well, I want to get AJ Brown. So I want to make sure that I get him. And if that's what it takes, I'll do it. Even though I think last week we were talking to the same thing, like I'd be much more happy to trade a one or even two ones for Max Crosby than I would be one one for AJ Brown. Right. So this texture says sign peers use 31 to go get Crosby. Okay, man, if you do it, if you're doing that, maybe I can get behind the Alec Pierce plan. Yeah. But if Alec Pierce is your big move and he's a Steph Diggs replacement, I'll like it. I also don't know if you're going to, if they are going to pay Max Crosby and Alec Pierce with Gonzalez and Drake. Make up. Like they're not getting all those. So I'm saying, if they did that though, that's a plan I can get on board with. Does that sound like them? No, it doesn't. No, not at all. 617-779, 793-7, let's go to Joe in the car on AJ Brown. Hello, Joe. What's up, guys? Hey, I just want the egos, you know,

they can't really pick and choose because, I mean, would you rather have a guy in the team that's just going to cause just rupturing in the locker room? You obviously, it's definitely the antics, and I don't know if they failed. And I think the egos are really, and AJ Brown, I think they're both done with each other. So, I mean, I wouldn't go too high out. I mean, like I said, a second round. But the egos got to watch out. Like I said, you don't want the, you don't want an unhappy Brown team. Yeah, look, I don't think, I think his point is, how he runs, Rosemond doesn't have a lot of leverage. I don't think. Oh, Ryzer, we're going to keep him. It's like, I don't know, it's getting kind of out of hand there. And I think both need to kind of go separate directions. And then I thought he was going to say, it'd be more of a problem here. And I would just say, well, that's where I trust Mike Ravel to sort of make sure you keep that on the up and up. I thought digs would be a problem. He wasn't. I mean, look, DJ Moore is not exactly a walk in the park either. It's a deal with, yeah, he sure will. But I would have taken him here. A good point, by the way, by the text line.

The chiefs also just got 29 the other day. So let's say you are, it's now you and the chiefs, 31 versus 29, you know, I mean, I, well, who blinks on like a third round pick tag on our fourth run pick tag on me. So that, if that's really what you're, you're battling against and you're, and they're right, I forgot, they got 29 from McDuffie. If that's really what you're battling against, fine. But McDuffie now, and they're going to have to pay him, but that's a good example of like a player that goes for a first run pick. That's a guy who's young and ascending. And you do have to give him a contract. You might have to give AJ Brown a contract. I don't think of McDuffie's going for 29, AJ Brown's going for 31. I don't think, but again, if I'm wrong about that, we'll see. We had the tweet from Jordan Schultz yesterday that I thought was interesting. Persources, he said, the Patriots have been in on the big name wide receivers on the free agent market and are believed to be prepared to spend big. He also said that Alec Pierce is among the names they've been eyeing. The trade market is also an option. So the way he writes that, he's not ruling it. The only big name wide receivers are Mike Evans and Tyrick Hill,

who are both past their prime and coming off injuries. Those are the big names. I don't even really consider Alec Pierce a big name. No, he's not, but he's going to go for big money. No, he is, but like, because you hear that, you're like, oh, they're earned on big name wide receivers to replace digs. I put digs at the top of the group of the receivers. The big name receivers include guys like Romeo, Dobbs, Jawan Jennings, Rashid Shaheed. Those are the big name receivers. So like, I'm not questioning that, you know, they're looking into it or even like the report, but I feel like it's a little misleading when you're like, they're on the big name guys, which, I don't think any of them are top 20 receivers in the NFL. No, maybe Evans is still holding on to that, but like, maybe not. I mean, we were doing, we did tears on wideouts a while ago and there's probably 20 better than him now. So Matt Bowen each day, just to speak to this point, Matt Bowen, not each day, but every time there's a significant player released, he's updating his top 100 available free agents. So for instance, Trey Hendrixon number one, Tyler Linderbaum number two, Alec Pierce is the highest receiver on there at number four.

Other receivers ahead of digs, I'll read until we get to digs. He updated this to reflect that release yesterday. Mike Evans is at 12. So Pierce is at four, Evans is at 12. He has Dobbs at 19. I don't know how you could say Dobbs is better than digs. Shaheed at 23. That's a gadget player. I'm not even really a receiver. I reject that. And I like him. That's a gadget receiver. That's not even a real wide receiver I would say. That's strange. Joanne Jennings at 25, who I like, he's not better than digs. Digs would be next up at 33. Receivers after him, your guy, Wondale. Yeah, like Wondale. Scrappy do, little scrappy do, little nice player. And I don't know. Any other receivers are much further down the list. Debo at 55. Yeah, but this might lead to anybody who being like, could he be back? It's like, I don't know, maybe could be. If the rest of the league views in the same way this guy does, there might not be a lot of offers. Plus, at least with the Patriots, you know kind of where you, where you fit in a depth chart. Why I miss this. The more compensation is in, you want it?

I do want it. It's a lot. What? DJ Moore and a fifth round pick go to Buffalo in exchange for a second round pick. Really? Good boy. So that's not mid-round. Nope, that is not mid-round. It's not mid-round. Who's in mid-round? Chefs are a wrap. Wrap. Wrong. Second round? Yeah. I don't think, I guess maybe there's semantics. If it's not first or seventh, maybe it's mid-round, but so they throw on a fifth, whatever. So for a second round picks, maybe AJ Brown will go for a first. Or the buzzer's bad. So good point. No, no, no, no, based on that, if he's going for a second, I'm looking up where the bill's second round pick is. Yeah, that's wild. He isn't at a good year at 60. I'm not, I mean, I'm glad the pass didn't do that. I'm not mad at the pass at all. No, I would not have traded the second round or for DJ Moore. That's high. I mean, if I now know the alternative is nothing else in the receiver room, what I overpay for, my guess. But you got to go to 63 if you're the pass. I don't know. The bills give us 60. Wow. That's a lot.

Yeah, they built their scrambling. They're scrambling. They're trying to help out, they're trying to help them out in Josh Allen, the receiver room, which is so bad. And so yeah, that's a bad one. That's desperation. That's what happens when you miss on Keon Coleman and you don't replace step digs. And now you just, you need to do something. So I mean, good for the bears. Megas for getting a second rounder for him. I like him as a receiver. That's a lot. What does that mean for H.A. Brown? Good question. Does that mean he will go for a first round pick? We'll see. I based off that bait. I mean, that's what the Eagles can now say. But look, DJ Moore just went for second round. And again, AJ Brown, for all of his issues, knee breaking down potentially on top of that, you have a guy who is not maybe the greatest teammate. I don't think DJ Moore is necessarily a great teammate either. What's his health situation going on the last couple of years? I feel like he was, he's played, he plays all the time. That's what I think. I think he's mostly out there. DJ Moore might be like banged up on the injury reporter. But he plays. He's out there. He's actually older than H.A. Brown. About a couple of months, but older.

Okay. Well, proven wrong in real time. Maybe AJ Brown is going for a first rounder. You give it up 31 form, Keith. For AJ Brown. Yeah. Yeah. I have to. I think based on this revelation. Yeah. Okay. 31. We're in 617, 779, 7937. You guys can jump in here on Jones and Keith. We'll update the Jones and Keith bracket. And we got to keep our madness for y'all. Gunn South has been a podcast about crime in the American South. But for our new season, we're widening the lens. Follow and listen to Gunn South season five. Wherever you get your shows. On the way next. It's time for Keifer Madness. Keifer Madness. Richard Keifer. I think it is Rich Keifer. Who is that? I don't listen to my name Joshua Adams. I don't know. It's Keifer Madness. Where's Keifer? Where's Keifer? Where's Keifer? Hey, Keifer. What are you doing? I was doing Junko Inoshima from Danganronpa. I'm a firm believer in UFOs and Sasquatch. That's funny. Yo, Keifer Madness is so hip or miss. Keifer Madness.

Keifer Madness. It's Keifer Madness on WEI. I bring it. The suspect has been caught months after firing into his store with a gun and trying to burn it down with Molotov cocktails. She came to this Mexican restaurant for a margarita. And instead, she left with a side of snake. It has appeared in court today to plead guilty to her husband in Britain's first ever cyber farting case. Breathe! Easy big fella! Breathe! All right, here we go. It's time for Madness on Jones and Keifer, WEI, and when in doubt Jones, we typically go to Florida for some of these stories. Sure. There's a lot going on down there and this is a new one, although I'm surprised this doesn't happen more. Okay. So it's new, but you've been bracing for it for a while. I was waiting for this. It was only a matter of time. All right, so we got a story like this. Upon Beach Man is facing a staggering 90 years in prison.

Oh, okay. Wow. 90 years in prison. Gotta be a murder. Not a murder. Wow, okay. Not a murder. 90 years in prison. Yeah. Specific number. Yeah. That's a lot of years. It's a lot of years. It's not life, but 90 years in prison. Yeah, you got a lot of leverage at 90. And 90 or more. You could get that down to 75. Yeah. With a good lawyer. No problem. I'll be out of here in no time. Yeah. You're saying not a murder. Not a murder. All right. Some sort of gun. Gun? Gun? Or some armed robbery? A robbing a bank or something? I don't know. What could it be? Let's find out. A Palm Beach man is facing a staggering 90 years in prison. After authorities say he used 99 cent taco seasoning packets. Yeah. The steel $10,000 worth of trading cards on target stores all across Florida. Oh. Use 99 cents taco seasoning packets to steal trading cards. Now those trading cards, which unfortunately don't mention in the story, are Pokemon cards.

Okay. Which are a hot commodity again. There they are. Shine right on this guy. Don't buy bigger shorts. Maybe. It could have been. It could have been shine. Pokemon cards have really come back up. My nephew's in the room. And I like got him some for Christmas. There were. Pokemon's big with the seven doors. Way more expensive than I thought. I don't know. What's the pack of cards run me? And you're like, that's zoos. So this guy would go up there. Well, there's a little bit more to the story. Okay. I'll sort of explain to you what's what's going on. After authorities say he used 99 cent taco seasoning packets. The steel $10,000 worth of trading cards from target stores. All across Florida. How do you do that? Investigators alleged Keith Wallace pulled off that swap at the self checkout. 75 different times before selling stolen collectibles for a massive profit. 75 times. So you almost got away with it. It was almost the perfect crime, Jones. But eventually they caught up. Well, you know what happens. Yeah. And they always go back for one last score. Always. It's always one last score. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my god.

Ocean's 11. Ocean's 11. I think that was a problem. Oh. 13. Yeah. They just kept going back. Eight. Thank you, Nick. Oh my god. I mean, the town. I mean, Dougie McCrae's going. It's one last score. He doesn't want to do it. But everybody's got one last score. Get out of there. That's what I was going to do. Is this guy forced to? You're right. He was coerced into it. I don't know. I have heard the story. Okay. Yeah. Investigators alleged Keith Wallace pulled off that swap at the self checkout. 75 different times before selling stolen collectibles for a massive profit on eBay. Man. Everybody illegal. What was that? What but illegal? Man. Clever but illegal. Clever. Clever. I heard it the second time. I still didn't know what to say. Man. Clever but illegal. It is clever. Thanks for your insight. Yeah. Clever but illegal. So what do you do is he would go up with the taco seasoning packets and packages of Pokemon cards, which I don't know how much they run you, but I'm telling you they're more expensive than you think. So we can like throw it in front of the pack when he's scanned it. Yeah. You put them there and then you would just ring up. So like, jeep, jeep, jeep.

So you're doing that. Just 99% packets. Throw them all in the bag and you get out of there. So it says walls would only pay for the seasoning packets. He would then sell the Pokemon cards on eBay where he made almost $40,000 in revenue. Wow. I guess he's also connected to Walmart and public thefts. I guess there's a lot of other thefts. Okay. But that's the thing. Do we know what he spent? I mean, yeah. It's at least 75 bucks. Yeah, right. I think it's at least 75 bucks. Minimum. No, probably more. Yeah. Because you're taking a dollar instead of like $10. Yeah. Right. So like, but then you're immediately up selling these bad boys. Yeah. Well, you can't. I'm just wondering what his overhead was. He made his upwards of $40,000. Wow. What have you spent? He's in the slam. 75 bucks at least. Let's see. The last steps resulted in the loss of over. Oh, over $10,000 for the. For the target. Wow. He was that. Okay. But again, you got to be somebody that is truthful. When you go to these self-checkouts, you do self-checkout?

Yeah. You're self-checking out? For sure. Because there is something. They're not always watching. It's a couple of items. I think we talked about this before. If I'm doing like a full grocery shop, I never. I never self-checked out. What if the line is on the way long? Yeah. If I'm there for one or two items, I have self-checkout all the time. Yeah. What do I don't care for? What's that now? The places that they charge for the bag. Because then they're like, do you want to add on a bag? I got most places. Not for a nickel, I know. A lot of places do that. They all do? I said most. How many bags do you take? Yeah. Seven. Seven bags? Yeah. About some. Now I'm about 35 cents. I can't have my face with that. But yeah, because there's usually at some places, they're watching you. They're eyeballing you. I mean, in fairness, they should have somebody watching at the end. Yeah. But this is a high level scheme. This isn't just somebody. No. Throwing a few extra items in their bag. That's low level. That's basic. Yeah. You know, store theft. But there's also, there are some places that I go to that don't have even option for self-checkout. I was like, not even there. Yeah. If you're like, I don't know.

I guess, cut down on, guess I'm waiting on this line. Theft. Yeah. But also, like, you're, you're running the risk of those people walking out. Remember though, was it whole foods that came up with the idea that they were going to basically just like. You didn't need to check out at all. It was basically like, they could attach the items that you took as you walk out and they just like charge your car. Yeah. That'd be great. Amazon stores. Yeah. Okay. So Amazon stores are doing that. Yeah. That's wild. Yeah. I was like, how was that going to be right every time? Yeah. I got it by six point. Well, some look here. Sometimes you probably come out ahead. Sometimes you, yeah, you get screwed over. Yeah. Sometimes they miss an item. Sometimes you get charged for an item you didn't buy. It'll probably all nuts out. But then I got to go back and check rather than just watching the person like scan him in front of me and be like, alright, I'm going to go here. Yeah. I don't like that. That's too futuristic for me. I'm not in that much of a rush. Right. Right. I'm in a look. I'm a fairly busy man. I'm not that busy. Where I need, I need to be walking out of the store the second I get all these items in a bag.

How do they know it's you again? Like do you have like a, they don't put in like a device into your skin? No, it's probably your phone. I'd imagine. Maybe or like a chip in a card in your wallet. I don't know. I mean, my answer is I don't know. But my guess is it's related to your phone or something. It seems like a sci-fi movie for me. I can't really get behind that. But this guy thought he almost got away with it and turns out he didn't. I don't know what it was that eventually got him. Well, it must have been somebody watching. How does it say specifically? How is it 90 years? Is it because it was 75 different thefts? Is that why? Like it's got to be like some sort because that's way overcharged, I would say. Like way overcharged. Maybe it's like 75 different fraud cases. See, that's why I got to be something like that, which is which is why it automatically triggers fraud. Right. Right. Because you hear like people that there's like these murder cases. It's like 25 years. And then it's like this guy stole Pokemon cards. And he didn't even steal them. He just paid less for them. Good boy. He did pay every time he went. He paid money. He stole the cards.

But he paid for seasoning packages. Oh, I guess you're right. He paid for seasoning cards. As a bit of a distraction. Yeah. And yeah, he stole Pokemon cards and then stole the same Pokemon. Honestly, he's a Pokemoner. 90 years in the slammer. He's 39. He's not going to see the other side of that. Well, modern medicine. Modern medicine. Yeah, he might. Yeah, he might. But it's like Shawshank. He gets out. Yeah, you. He could escape. He's just trying to get a snorlax and like a charizard. He could escape. He could get a really good lawyer. There's a lot of ways. He could. He could ask for a read of Hayworth poster. And then just start chipping away. Yeah, there are no time. True. Um. Yeah, I don't. I don't know. I would say there's really dumb criminals we're talking about. And key for medicine. Yeah, actually sounded kind of smart. That's kind of a smart. Never but illegal. Yeah. Come on. Now you're a good boy. Funny legal. Sorry. Yeah. The one last score. That really that really dealt like the thrill of the score. Yeah. I almost want to be caught. I'm not. I'm not a shoplifter. But now somebody can tell his story. But I can see how you get roped up in it when you get away one time.

Thrill. Oh, yeah. Never mind the money. You're making up. You're chasing that. But if you just walked away at 72. Yeah. 73. 74. 74 would have. Scott free. Scott free. That's that. That one last score. The need for it. Man. It's got to be a rush. It's like selling like upselling him on eBay is no crime. It should be. It actually should be. It should be a crime. It's not it's not. But yeah. Where'd you get those colors? What is he do with all the taco season things? Does he just only eat tacos by the way? Yeah. It's like I got. Yeah. He's gonna have an efficient scheme. Just a real season, Taco. I got it. Every Tuesday. It's all yet. I mean, and then some, I get to sit on a mountainous taco seasoning. What's some of all the taco season. I told tacos really love a guy's house is full of Pokemon cards and talk about this time. That's is any time Did you get thrown off a scent a little bit and buy like another item? It's just taco seasonings every time. It's probably I got caught. Yeah, it's true. It was probably what did it damn

Okay, so so much taco seasoning and where'd all the Pokemon cards go, but then they're checking their books and it's like we didn't buy Oh, yeah, like all the Pokemon cards are just gone. Yeah, they're like that. You guys sell any Pokemon cards We are we are just restocking. They're on seasoning and Pokemon cards like you read about we are we're really selling these We must be really marketing these well.
