What's the latest on this on the Dodgers? Are we starting after next season? So he's 36. Next season, it'll be 37. May, so would you offer him another, like, three year deal when he's 37? 5:03And then which is going to create a balanced, you know, NFL year, which is going to be good for the league. The Rams and Denver and whoever they're going to be fine. They're going to be fine. All those teams will be fine. I think it's going to be an exciting year because other teams are stepping up. The coaches are stepping up and it should be a fantastic year. Awesome, man. The celebration thing by the time I had my third kid, there really wasn't much of a baby shower. You got to know when you, when you're on top. But let me go back to what I was going to say originally, which was, you know, the Rams, the thing that really concerns me is, you know, AD didn't go to Australia. He didn't do training camp. He kind of parachutes in. And now the Miles Garrett is injured. Does he kind of take over the team? And does it cause an issue? And, you know, the analogy that I was thinking about was if your wife

6:07gets sick right before you go on vacation and you invite your ex-wife to go with you instead, what does that do for the dynamic, you know? Well, but you're saying that Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett would be, would have competing interests there. They both play for the Rams and they both want to win. So it's not like one would be jealous of the other. Do you think they would be, Jimmy? I think that, you know, these two are alpha males. They're considered the best of their respective generations. And they didn't really overlap in terms of their overall greatness. And I think being on the same team, I think there is, I mean, you know, Miles Garrett was a captain. AD wasn't right. And I think that that means something. But keep in mind, Aaron came back because of Miles Garrett. He wanted to play alongside Miles Garrett. So I don't, I don't know the jealousy thing. If that's, I don't think that's real. I think they both want to win. And Aaron Donald wanted to play with Miles Garrett. And Aaron double again, finally outside doesn't see him. And I think that kind of a guy. I mean, alpha male in terms of like the way he plays in the field.

7:09But he's not the most vocal guy. He's not like the biggest raw, raw guy on your team. He leads by example of how seriously you take himself, how seriously he takes his body. I seriously takes his job. Yeah, but I wouldn't say he would be somebody that would be tripping over somebody wanting to take the leadership away from being a vocal leader. Yeah, yeah. They actually do have starters playing. Right. But I don't think there's a hangover from the joint practice between the Cowboys and the Rams to you. What more sure that could be worrying. I didn't see the joint practice. I am only relying on what people reported about the joint practice. But what is actually working with them about the giants is the way that their quarterback plays. Quarterback is the recipe to beat the Rams. Like he creates his own space. He has guys that can catch you have like, you have Kim Scott, a Boo, you have Ken Nincidig. They have guys that can be catch passer. Just like how the four Uniteders beat up on the Rams. And by the way, look out Malik neighbors is really, really good and he's back now. Aaron Donald came back to play with Miles Garrett with the point of contending for a championship. Yes. If he doesn't come back sooner rather than later their season is going to be over where the both of them are healthy and a lot of are not. Because the reality of the situation is that defense can't stop the run. Nope. They allow the San Francisco 49ers to run the ball 30 times at six yards a pile. All right, so that was that. The money that you spent on Jalen Watson and free agency to rebuild your secondary don't

15:21look like money well spent. You was getting lost by Mike Evans all game low. So yeah, Mike Evans. My guess. That's right. But not making with Jalen Watson supposed to be making it. They build it as rebuilding that secondary and that not being a problem this season as a bolster what it was last year. Guess what? It's still a problem. They got a fix it. And I don't know that they have a whole lot of answers other than Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett both being in a lot of. Duh. I mean, seriously, of course that's your answer is having those two guys in the lineup. They're both good run stoppers. I think he is his worrying is excessive, but one point I will agree with. That was a terrible debut for Jalen Watson. Oh, yeah. Yeah, he got they ate him well. I mean, as soon as Mike Evans is Brock pretty looked over there and Mike Evans was one on one with Jalen Watson, everybody in the stadium knew where the ball was going. Yeah, by the way, also we're picking at Quentin Lake a lot during that game. We're talking about though he was, you know, I think Quentin Lake is good at his position.

16:25I just think he had a bad game as well. He did have a turnover that happened. Yeah, but he is somebody who, you know, they paid last year. They want him to be. He is the leader of this defense when everyone says it's Miles Garrett. It's actually Quentin Lake. He's this verbal leader. He's the green dot back there. By the way, Aaron Donald Miles Garrett there in the lineup. Brock pretty has less time to throw and may not find may not find Mike Evans in that. But if Aaron don't, I don't play this week. I am a bit worried about this defense just because I know you have Britain, Fisk, you got Kobe Turner, you got Byron Young, those are all guys that are really talented, but they all are going to know. No one's going to be doubled. And so everybody on the Giants offensive line will be able to cover them. Well, but now you mentioned Malik neighbors is really good. He's really good. So I don't know if that's a Trent McDuffie or if that's a Jalen, I think you have to put McDuffie on him. Yeah. Wherever he lines up, just tell him McDuffie knows better corner, better corner. Well, here's what I think they need to do again. If they do, if the Giants do the same thing with the four United States, which is the Dink and Dunk short passes, getting the ball in half a second, I think they need to

17:30make sure that these corners are pressing from the beginning, pressing it on the front, which is opposed to being back, waiting to not be burned by the deep ball. Right. Because they got burned either way. Yeah, yeah. If they lose to the Giants, it could start a free fall because the three games after that are at Denver at Philly, home to the bills. Well, I don't know. Denver looks pretty beatable to me. Yeah, who's never played this week? I think they play, they play either the Sunday night of the Monday night. Can we look it up? Yeah, because they saw I'm going to the Denver game. Sunday night. They play the Jaguars and it's at 105. Give me the Jaguars. Yeah, I think the Jaguars are terrific. But it's in Denver. It's excellent. I think. Is it in Denver? That offense was playing. No, it's a, yeah, it's at in Denver. That offense was playing the Browns. But at the same time, if you look at just last year and look at surely numbers, that was one of the most productive offenses in the league. Except against the Rams and London. Except against the Rams. Exactly right.

Listen to that crystal clear audio. It's Dr. Clapper. Dr. Clapper. Fantastic. So Miles Garrett is the most talked about guy in Los Angeles. He's got a knee thing. He's had surgery for it. It's an arthoscopic. Yeah. Whatever that means. What can you tell us about Miles Garrett and his recovery timeline?

20:37So Arthros AR THRO in Latin means joint. Scope means to look inside. So instead of opening, or throttomy, Arthros again, joint, Armin means to cut. That's how we used to get into the joint. We would open with a big scalpel. So now it's an arthroscope, tiny little puncture sites. So the recovery is much easier. Here's what I don't like about this story. We weren't really told that it was persistent swelling through all of training camp in his knee. So it's not like an acute injury where you fell, got hit, and now you tore something. This is brewing with swelling in his knee for the whole training camp. And now when you hear he's going to be out for four games at least, that's different than Brock Bowers having a meniscus being trimmed and we'll see in a game or two.

21:38So there's got to be a level deeper in terms of pathology is what makes sense to me. So here's a clapper vision. Brock Bowers, the linoleum in his kitchen is scratched, meaning the surface in the knee with the meniscuses and you can clean it up trim it because the floorboards underneath the linoleum, the wood underneath the linoleum, is fine. There's no termites. But if you have any kind of damage deeper than the surface, then it's going to swell and be a problem for a longer period of time. If you're at the beach and the wind comes up and the sand goes in your eye, you have to rub your eyes that get red swollen, they're irritated. Well, if you put drops in, you're going to feel better because the redness is gone. But if the sand scratched your cornea, then you could put all the eye drops you want. Actually, you have damaged deeper. And that's what I worry about with my old garage.

22:40So doc, if let's say they go in, they clean up as me with the arthroscopic surgery, what is a typical Rick? They're we're hearing minimum of four weeks. What is in your experience, the amount of time it would take a professional athlete to get back to normal after getting the scope? I don't think it's unrealistic to say you're going to be back in four weeks. But John Ireland, he is the problem. Until it now swell again, we can do all kinds of things to manage the symptoms. But if you still have divots, you're a golfer. If you tore up the grass enough with your chipping, then it's going to come back again. You'll have swelling again. You won't feel 100% right. And that is what I worry about. It's the season. It's not how quickly he can come back. We need to make sure this doesn't come back. You know what it's like when you have chronic or degenerative changes in a knee. You've been involved with many a basketball player who just persists in having knee pain

23:43and swelling, and they're not 100%. By the way, you know, the only thing I heard of all that was that it's totally possible that he will be back after four weeks of all that stuff, Doc. I'm just clinging to the positive. So we're getting ready for the baseball playoffs. And Freddie Freeman, who's critical to the Dodger's success, is dealing with Patela 10-denitis. He has not been in the lineup the last couple of days. They're getting him off his feet. Tell me about Patela 10-denitis and does rest. Help it. Yes. So go ahead. You're sitting down. Go ahead and feel your kneecap. It's like a clock, 12 o'clock, six o'clock, three o'clock, nine o'clock. That's the round structure of your kneecap. Now feel the bump on your tibia, your shin bone, called the tibial tubercle. That's where the tendon attaches. Now go ahead and try to straighten your knee. Extend it. It's because between your kneecap and that bump on your bone, the tibia, the tibial tubercle

24:45lives the tendon called the Patela tendon. It's a rubbery canvas bungee cord-like material. Well, what does Patela 10-denitis mean? Do you have a brand new pair? Is a clapper vision. A brand new pair of blue jeans. Remember those? They were stiff. They would, who wants to wear a brand new pair of blue jeans? So you put them in the washing machine and wash it five times, ten times because you want to pound the hell out of it. And hopefully one day, not only does the blue denim get soft, but if you really go further, you now start to fray the jeans, right? Where the white starts to show through. It's not just the blue surface. The Patela tendon, when it's fresh and you're 18 years old, looks like that brand new pair of blue jeans. When you talk about Patela tendonitis, palgasol had to deal with this in the past. It's that the blue-ging now has been pounding enough that you now see the white stuff coming. It's frayed, frayed blue jeans.

25:47So that's what Freddie Freeman is dealing with. This is not an acute injury. This is not going to go away. The treatment is rest. It's inflamed. It's painful. It's not, you're not going to give him a new Patela tendon, but you need to rest him. He'll feel fine. Minimize his outings. It's kind of like little league pictures. Count the number of pitches. Count the number of hits and minutes that Freddie Freeman needs to be out there. All right. And the other guy we're all keeping an eye on is Shohei, who was placed on the 15-day disabled or they called the injury list now. The soon as he can come back, Doc is in eight days on September 23rd, which will give him around a week, maybe eight days to get better before the playoffs start. He has several different injuries. The most persistent one has been the knee. In your opinion, he's got a knee. He's got a bicep. Is eight days enough to get him ready for the playoffs in your opinion?

26:47Yes. He's got to rest him. The key is why won't it come back? And there's every reason for it to come back. So you also, just like the Freddie Freeman story, this is a chronic, not an acute problem that we're dealing with. So if you minimize the amount of throws he does, the amount of hits that he does, then you get to get Shohei for the whole postseason and win the World Series again. But you almost can't have him trust himself. Just once that adrenaline, which is the most powerful drug we deal with in patients, where you just motivated to go through all the pain that the feedback you're getting to your brain, he can ignore it all. He can be his own worst enemy. So the answer is yes, eight days is enough, but you need to monitor him. Otherwise, we will lose him for the World Series. All right. Is it clear now? Because it is to me that the Rams made a huge mistake by flying in late and doing all the, you know, be there for 30 hours, all that stuff.

27:49And do you think teams will start getting to their destination and settle in before they actually play? Yes. And I think this should be mandated. Because they're going to do a lot of games in Europe and God knows where he is the deal NFL. Both teams have to be equal. They have to do the same. So this is when you have to mandate when they get there so that you're not only in even field, but in even feeling. And yes, the person they should have talked to Steve is John McEnroe. Did you see his interview? He said, I've been to Melbourne, Australia over 40 times in my career. You cannot just show up. It's not possible. They should have talked to a tennis player rather than these two schmendrix that they sent over a two year period of time who said, hey, I'm just fine, ladies and gentlemen. No, you're not playing football. What a crazy idea in retrospect. Yeah. All right. And Doc, you are on every Saturday morning 7 a.m. We love the weekend warrior show.

36:00There has been no accord yet reached. And it, I've read an article yesterday that said, it appears neither side is really anxious to make a deal. I think it might die. Well, especially with the lockout here, I would imagine it will be part of a collective bargaining, bargaining agreement if we ever get through that. Well, this is the proposal from the commissioner's office. Is what you're going to read? Yes. If you are picked and you don't play, okay? So if we say you for the team USA and you say no, you have to sit out two weeks when the season resumes after the games. In other words, they're putting pressure on guys if they are selected to play. And if they are selected and they don't play, they don't get to play the next two weeks of the season. Stupid. Do you think so? Over legislation. Yeah. But what if you do the Olympics and none of your good guys show up? I mean, to me, I think this is such a great opportunity for baseball.

37:04I agree that it's a great opportunity. I think these guys are going to want to do what I would do is pay them and give them incentive to show up and play. You know, pay them a lot of money. The Olympics print money hand over fist as you know. Right. So pay these guys. And if they all got, if everybody that makes the team gets five million, they do it. Yeah, but who's going to give that? Where's that five million coming from? I was going to say from the Jersey sales for people buying the team USA jerseys for the Olympics. You think do you think you could afford to pay five million dollars per player? I'm saying that is part of it. You can do some of the ticket sales back to the players who plays. You can help revenue share with the players to ensure they want to do it. But I'm not against this ideal for the commission commissioner's office because you know who would love this deal? Anthony Rendon. We picked and then says, Oh, no, I don't have to play for two weeks. Oh no. It's true. No, I never understand. I wouldn't wish this on anybody. When we talk about things like this, I never, I tend to always stay away from any vehicle

38:10that takes players off the field. Right. So this anything that that has a punishment where you don't play for two weeks, it's an entertainment product. Except this is a vehicle to put players in the game, which is an entertainment product. I agree. But pay them. That's what it'll get. Well, here's the thing. You, you tie it to winning a gold medal. You get paid if you win the gold medal, paid more, paid more, pay them for making the team and then pay more. But this is not, but the people in the MLB are not all going to compete for team USA. And so if you're going to give team USA more money than you're going to give the players are playing for the Dominican Republic, that comes an issue if you're buying at the MLG. That's true. Yeah. Yeah, because the DR won't necessarily be able to pay Japan. Japan could pay. They'll have a really good team. Some of the South American countries will have good teams. I'm sure the federations will be paying a lot of money for the teams that really want to go with all the other. You do get paid for a gold medal. Right. But do you know how much I am going to win?

39:12Well, we did this back when that one girl was competing for China, right? When she was American, but she got paid more to compete for China. Therefore, she chose to compete for them. Yeah. And if there's more than the US does an athlete, this is us gold medal, $37,500. Oh, please. Baseball players that are going to compete for team USA, wipe their noses with that. Absolutely. They do. Now, what I'm hoping, first of all, I'm hoping they reach some accord and we do get actually baseball players at the Olympics. But the other thing is I'm hoping it doesn't require a bunch of incentive. I'm hoping that guys will say, I, this is my opportunity to play in the Olympics at Dodger Stadium. Uh, it on a world stage, I'm going to seize that. I would think I mean, I would do it. But a lot of these guys don't don't want to play more. But if you pay them, they'll show up. You know what? This is a, my Michael's idea to save the NBA Al start game.

40:12Pay them. You know, yeah, get a pot of $12 million. And the winner takes off. I don't think you need an NBA Al star game anymore. I don't either. I think you just, you made the Al star team. So here's some money. We're not going to play the game exactly what they do with the pro bowl and the NFL. Yeah. You just show up. You get all, you get all pro or you get in this case NBA Al star. They give you a check and you move along. You know what I wish they did for the pro bowl because it's going way this year. They're going to do a pro bowl. They should have the last two teams with the least amount of wins compete for the number one overall pick. I would watch that. That would be two worst teams in the lead playing from the number one pick with the, with the players try knowing that they could draft a replacement in an extra game check. Oh, I see another one.
