Growth Triggers — How to Wake Up Without Anxiety With Coach Mike Basevic. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
Nothing changes in your life but your state of being changed. The need of being is to cause, but you're going to teach the subconscious that that's the default program. So if you want to be in the zone every day, it's got to be your default setting. An example I like to use, Lewis, is if you're in a room that's too cold, let's say it's 68 degrees, you can get a sweater or a sweatshirt, hoodie, and a blanket. But when you take the hoodie and the blanket off, it's still going to be cold. Better things could go change the thermostat. This law vibration, the self-help world causes love attraction. It's real because you can't outwork that you cannot perform it. Everything you want in life is any other side of your emotional resistance. If you think that stress, anxiety, and post-sendrum are just a price of admission for being a high achiever, for being entrepreneur, for somebody who wants to do big things in life, then my guess today is going to show you that that is incorrect and a better way to live your life. Today on the show, we have Coach Mike Vasovic. He's the host of the Life Is An Inside Job podcast.
And today, we talk about a story. We talk about what emotional resistance is. We talk about what state of being is and what it is that when you wake up at 3 a.m. and your mind is running like an engine about the stress, the bills, the making payroll, etc. We're going to talk about a stop that. And Coach Mike is going to show us what he does and how he overcame that period in his life. And also, because the show is about AI and content marketing, we're going to talk a little bit about what you should and shouldn't delegate to AI, what choices and decisions to stay with you, and what choices and decisions you can delegate to LLMs like Proplizity, Manus, ChatGBT, and all the other ones, Claude included, right? So if that sounds good, stick around. My hope and intention of this episode is that you get one good thing that you can take away and use to reduce your stress or anxiety. And if you have questions or want to check out Mike's book, it will be in the show notes or in the first link below this video. So check that out it's a great book and I hope you enjoy my conversation with Coach Mike Uswitch.
I've helped generate over 50 million podcast downloads and work with over 250 different podcasts. And the great thing about that is that I get to use all that information to share at least one helpful tip every single week to help you grow your influence and your online presence with video podcasting. Hey, my name is Luis Diaz. I run a company called Top 10 Podcasts and this show is dedicated to helping you learn at least one helpful tip every single episode to help you grow your influence and your online presence with video podcasting. So that sounds good. Let's get into it. Mike, like I mentioned before, I have heard bits and pieces of your story and this is where I want to spend time because like when I hear when I look at your website, one of the things that sticks out to me is that one of the things you say right off the bat is that you're not a guru. You're just a guy who's burnt out and been to the bottom. And then you figured the things out yourself to get to where you are today. So I mean, when I was 18 years ago, I was 20. I was like 12 years old, so like that. So, um, you know, this is this was this is a little while back. So I want
to know, I want to first of all talk about your story, what the burnt out taught you and then we can go, I'm going to hear about like how you're just really reworking people's mental subconscious, all performance side now. But let's start back when you burnt out. Yeah, Luis, you know, I, in detail, all this in my book, the broken sage, but when I grew up, it was a pretty tumultuous emotional environment, right? You know, grown up as a kid in the 70s and 80s, right? It was pretty difficult in our households. My parents were angry. They're always fighting. My dad at a vicious town, so, you know, my brother and I were getting our butts kicked, you know, every week if we screwed up. So when I, you know, I lived in that environment growing up. And when I became a young adult, like, you know, like you are right now, your age, I was very, you know, motivated and hungry and hardworking. And I wanted to create success. And I did create success early on in my life. And, you know, I started my career out of college with, with the high hotel corporation. And I
was successful there. And I went into recruiting and I was successful there. But I was inside. I was always a mess. And anxiety, stress, overwhelm. I always felt like a fraud too because of that broken childhood, right? And my subconscious was trained to feel like I didn't deserve this success. So I was creating this success. I was living this opulent lifestyle. And I had money, you know, and I created a pretty, you know, pretty good seven figure net worth. And I had cash. So I had this lifestyle, but I never felt I deserved that. Go to the country club and I felt they didn't belong. Even though my bills are paid, I can afford to be there. Right. And so about 20 years ago, 21 years ago now, everything imploded. You know, here I am. And a young guy, I had a wife, three kids, young kids at the time. And I was a mess. I was surviving every day to get to the next day. And everything just fell apart. Marriage ended. Business failed. And on the other side of all that, I was about quarter of a million dollars in debt. And everything just
spiraled. And as I detail in the book, you know, I ended up living in hotel rooms on prepaid credit cards, right? Almost four decades into my life. I was in my 30s. And like, what the hell happened in my life? And I hit rock bottom. And then I started to like, and I was always a self-help junkie in a way, right? I'd listen to anything out there, right? At the time. And I'm going to throw any names out there because I don't want to, you know, derogate anybody. But, you know, I would listen to it, right? And I would get pumped up and I would try to figure out, I couldn't figure all problems. And but then I, you know, when I hit rock bottom, you know, I said, man, you've got kids counting on you. And this is not the end of your story, man. And I was afraid. I was catastrophizing. I was, you know, I felt worse than I ever felt failure, right? Lost everything. So, but then I started, I stumbled upon some books, some teachings. And I then I was, I couldn't get enough. I started to realize, you know, the name of my podcast is called Life is Inside
Job because I started to realize that the mind is everything, you know? And, and I started to learn about the principles of the mind. So if there was a book out there, I read it. If there was a class I took it as a seminar, I, you name it. I literally immersed myself into this self-help world and or books on psychology, books on human performance, you name it, I read it. I ended up reading over 250 books. And I found one of those reading these books that, you know, everything had peace. But there was no like, there was no thing, and we could talk about this, like the flaws in self-help, right? And I was learning them because some things were beneficial, but I wasn't experiencing yet the life that I wanted to experience. And I wasn't happy yet. I was still like, I was spiraling in debt. I was, you know, I was trying to keep a roof over me. And I'm paying shouts for paying for all my kids' activities. I'm going to keep a roof over my head. So, I was still a mess. But when I started to read this stuff, one of my early takeaways were, holy cow, I did it to myself. It was all me. And it was me because I was in a state of being
that I call resistance my entire life. And when I started to cover that, I thought, okay, time to fix you. And I kept digging, digging, digging. And I realized that no book out there, no teaching out there. They all had pieces. A lot of it was retread, you know, the stuff that you hear from everyone else and people were looking at one of your coach, right? And I, but I was, I looked past that. And I would try everything, man, you name it. I tried it. And then when I started to understand the concepts that I teach my private clients now about the state of being, what the subconscious mind is, is nothing more than just a recording device. It's a supercomputer with AI that learns from you. And it becomes what you teach at your whole life. And I learned that. I learned the principles of what I call a diet for the mind. It's super powerful stuff. And then I realized like, in order to change the external circumstances, because I was putting off fires trying to make things happen. Like, I got every, you know, person that's that's motivated to us. I realized that I had to change from the inside. I had to change my mind by subconscious. I had to change the patterns. I had to change
my beliefs. I had to change the paradigms. And also he had the most importantly changed the state of being that I'm in every day. And when I did that, all of a sudden I started to feel great. I was empowered. I felt like, you know, I felt this years of resistance going dissipating and clearing on every day. And then I just started to, you know, see things in my life that started to show up. And, and I just started experience a success again. All of a sudden, just things started to happen. And serendipity and luck and hard work was paying off now. And within a year, my life completely changed. And then I thought, you know, you've got to teach what you learn to other people. You know, because this is powerful shit. And so I, that's when I launched my coaching business. This was around 2008. And for the last 18 years, I've been, you know, I've been teaching and helping people transform. And everyone that comes to me has something going out, whether it's anxiety, stress, overwhelm, burnout, imposter, which is a big one. They're afraid to make a mistake, self-judgment,
depression, and we get them through it in weeks. Yeah, I'm honest, because I, you know, I put the system together that I would use on myself and I've affected it over 18 years. So it's pretty powerful. And so if somebody comes to me, they say, okay, within six to eight weeks, as long as you're committed, as you'll put the work in, because the mind will fight you for a while because you've trained the mind a certain way, but we get people through that. And that's what I've been doing ever since. So that's my story and what led me to all of this. I've got some big questions for you that I want to, I want to clear up here. Couple definitions and a couple of things. I want to, I want to, people to know, where did you, so you grew up 70s and 80s? Where did you grow up? What part of the country? South Florida. I'm in Chicago, right? I'm in where? Okay. Runway four. Those planes would come right over my house, man. And it was, take our whole house. And, uh, yeah, so that was where I grew up. And, okay. Yeah. So, and the guys in my neighborhood, and I used to talk like that, we were the guys that, like, would speak like those guys that sat in their live to bear or skip, right? That's no one guys in the Southside, Chicago. I was on the Southwest side. So we were in, as,
you know, amplified with our accents, but that's, that's right. We're up right there, man. Okay. So big city, tough city, big time, you know, parents were both angry. And, and you created so it's funny. I have a, I have a degree in hospitality management. So, um, go to go down to college. I started to work for Mariah the night auditor and hated it. So the fact that it went into the, yeah, I did not like it. I was just, this is horrible three o'clock in the morning. But you see, but it was so much work. It's a tough industry, man. But yeah. And yeah, I believe. Yeah. Same. Um, so words, generated all the success. It all went away. And this, so, I'm recap of the story because something you said here, the state of being, I want to clarify what that is for people and for myself as well. Yeah. What do you mean by when you say state of being? Yeah. So that's a great question. And my parents like, like, my dad was a, you know, he was, he had a vicious temper. My mom was, you know, she lost her dad suddenly at 16. She never healed
that. My mom passed away last year and, you know, good woman did her best, but she would poke the bear. You know, so like, like, when we knew my dad was pissed, we'd like, I stay away, do the best the right distor, my wife. She would poke the bear until he exploded, right? And so it was constant follow. And there was no love in our house, right? Especially between them. And any conversation, any dinner could, could end in an argument, right? So, um, all that stuff just conditioned to me to be what I am. So everything we are, Lewis, and I'll get to the state of being your question. But this is a path to that. Everything we are. The way we talk, the way we walk, the way our personality is, it's all learned behavior. So you could tell the way I speak that I'm from the Midwest or Chicago. But if you raised me in Alabama or Mississippi, I'd probably speak a little bit differently, right? Just sudden drop. And, um, or if, if I was born in England, I speak English, but with a British accent. So we're all learned. We don't go anywhere special to learn. And we pick
it up for our environment. That's what life is. We learn through our experiences. We learn through our environment. And the mind becomes what we expose it to. And that's why we are who we are. And now the state of being is essentially, excuse me, I've been doing so much talking lately. I've got a throat lashing here. It's like, it's giving me for the state of being is essentially the energetic rate that we're vibrating at any given time. You know, anyone that studies self-help understands this Eagle MC square, this law vibration, I call it, it's real. But most self-help people are talking about positive thinking and affirmations and breathing and journaling and exercise and supplementing and all that stuff. It's fine to do that stuff. But they're trying to get you into an energetic state of being. And the way you do that, the most effective way to do that is by working with the mind and with the subconscious and sort of hacking the mainframe, get you into that state of being. The state of being is essentially the rate you're vibrating
anytime. Everyone can relate to this. If you're in a good mood, you're in his own, right? The music sounds better, the food tastes better, and everything that you touch turns to gold, right? You're selling, you're bringing in clients, you're just on fire. You have to experience it. All of a sudden you see an athlete go off in a game. He's in the state of being the zone, which is what I call acceptance. That's the flow state that everybody wants to get in every day. And it's not, you know, super high-powered charged up where you can walk on coals and stuff. That's a temporary thing. You want to get your default setting, your default state of being to that. So you feel it, you think it. And anytime whatever state of being you're in, you're going to think it. So thoughts are coming from your subconscious based on the state of being you're in. So if you wake up one day and say, man, I'm worried about this project. I'm worried about finances. I'm worried about the future. You're a full catastrophe. That's a state of being playing out in your thoughts and maybe the pit in your stomach, your emotions. If you wake up
the next day, all of a sudden, nothing in your life change, but man, I'm motivated today. I've get this stuff done. I'm getting to do this. I'm on fire. Nothing changes in your life, but your state of being changed. The state of being is the cause. Now, just like your personality, in a way we talk, walk and bite and believe and so forth, your state of being has learned behavior. So now you want to you want to feel good every day. You've got to go into what you don't go into the subconscious, but you got to teach the subconscious that that's the default program. So if you want to be in the zone every day, it's got to be your default setting. And an example I like to use Lewis is if you're in a room that's too cold, let's say it's 68 degrees, you can get a sweater or sweatshirt hoodie and a blanket. But when you take the hoodie and the blanket off, it's still going to be cold, better thinking to go change the thermostat. Right? Yeah. So everybody out there is trying to get you to do these things. Get into your mindset, get into the, you know, get into the proper mindset, but I just prefer to just change the default, the setting, right? To what I
call acceptance being in the zone and you wake up every day and I could promise you this. Now, I've had challenges. I have challenges in my business. I have challenges, you know, everywhere. If you're living in performance, you're going to have challenges. Those never go away. But I could promise you for the last 18 years, I've woken up happy and motivated every day. I'm just content. I'm peaceful. I get things done and that's the fault, but I had to train my mind to be that because I woke up in chaos every day for the first several decades of my life. I was waiting for you to shoot a drop. I was, you know, so the state of being is the cause of everything you're feeling and it's the magnet for this law of vibration at the self-help coaches teach and all these people call the law of attraction, like, you know, the secrets are one of my love around the burn. And she did a nice job that she's trying to help people in this world. She's done a nice job, but never wants in the secret that they mentioned the state of being. They talk about thoughts. Sorry, they say they say, feel good. When you visualize, feel good. How do you feel good when you're depressed or how do you feel good or anxious or when you've got no money in your bank account and
your rents do? How do you feel good about that? You can't. You can't positive think your way out of that stuff. So what's the state of being? And the mastery of the state of being is what I help my clients master quickly. And then when they do, they feel better and then the external world catches up to that pretty quickly. Yeah, I love. So that's a huge piece there. It's right. It's like you're you mentioned the circumstances aren't going to change immediately, but if you as you change that state of being to the one you want, like you said in your own story, life catches up with you. And and I think that's an important and important thing to note because it's not going to be immediate and probably most scenarios. It's not going to catch up tomorrow with you. And you got to maintain it a long time. But it doesn't. It does. It, you know, there's not a, you know, if you stay there, you don't call it, you know, being an acceptance machine, but when you stay in that high vibrational state day in and day out, you're going to it'll catch up pretty quickly. You know,
the, the speed is okay. You know, your life, my whole life, I went from, you know, the story in a book, just rock bottom to, you know, complete freedom in a year. You know, and I was, you know, I tell people in my program, I was the biggest shit show to come to my program. So if you think you jacked up, read my book, man. And, and, and, and, and my clients when they read the book, they love the book because it's a good book. And, and it's a really easy read, but it's a power, a power in motivating read, but they're like, man, coach, I never knew you want to do that stuff. And you were a big shit. And I laugh about it because that's what I was in addition to be. And, and the biggest fly, see Louis, sort of a lot of young people who are, you know, I give them credit because they're fired up. They want to create the successful life. They want to impact people. But they're taught all the distractions. And I'd one tell me recently, um, coach, I wake up crying every day. And she said, every day on my left, I'm crying, but then I do my mindset work, I get through the day. And I said, well, how would you like to wake up peaceful and happy every day?
And then, before I'm going to speak during the day, what sounds better than you? Because that's the problem with these distractions, right? They're distractions. It's, it's putting, it's putting a bandaid on something that needs surgery. And what, but when you teach the subconscious mind, which will be whatever you teach it to be, then you're going to perform phenomenal. That's sub and so many questions in my mind. I want to go with this one though, because I think you mentioned a few times and you, in, in our working together, you've, I've learned this from you just through here and how you explain it. But what is, when you say resistance, someone is, is experiencing resistance, what does that look like? Can you give an example of what that is? Yeah, resistance is everything I was experiencing. And, and you can experience resistance every day, Lewis, but it's, it's emotional states that don't feel good. Okay. Dress, overwhelm, fear, anxiety, worry, uh, in, insecurity and adequacy. So I was the biggest imposter, um, in my early life, because I was in the state of being of inadequacy. You know, I was conditioned and taught that I'm no good. My dad told me, last conversation, every time with my dad, when I was going to
divorce looking for help and he turned me down. It's all in the book. It's really, and this is not a crazy party, just who he was. And, um, and he said, you know, son, you screwed your life up. You're just a bad seed. And I already felt like shit. So I was like, Holy cow, there's, there's a, there's a reassurance I needed. But no, I felt like that's what I felt like in life. So that's a state of being of resistance, right? That, that no matter what I do in a lot of your listeners, a lot of our clients relate to this imposter syndrome, right? Because it's like, you know, how much success I have, I don't feel like I deserve it. I don't feel like I've belonged at the table with the big boys and the girls. And so I feel like imposter. That was me. That's the state of being of resistance. Or if you just wake up with that pit near stomach and or that like dread, don't ignore that because that's what's going to be creating your results. And we can't positive way our think, you know, if we're positive thinking, but we've got to pit in our stomach. That's resistance. And we want to deal with the pit in our stomach
because positive think would be putting a blanket over the engine that's making noise in your car and driving 400 miles. You're not going to do that, man. Before you hit that 400 miles, you're going to make sure that that engine's running beautifully tires are good. Everything's working fine. Let's hit the road. You're not going to put a blanket over the engine, but positive thinking to get yourself pumped up to get through the day. And you're literally on a hamster wheel. And you're serving every day to get to the next day. We want to clear that emotional resistance that's build up. And every traumatic difficulty fact you ever go through in your life, will build that resistance, right? And if it's an emotionally charged event, it leaves a bigger imprint and creates more resistance. So if you've ever been dumped, right? And it leaves a like, man, emptiness in your heart and this sadness and loneliness and and you know, inadequacy. And that leaves a big, big, you know, level of resistance, right? And you're right, you're going to
clear that stuff out. And as we go through life, we all have those events. You know what I mean? You probably are going to look at you to probably never get dumped, but no, no, no. You know, I know. Definitely have. Yeah. So I guess that's what the resistance is. Is any emotion, thought, essentially, your state of being that feels good? This might be helpful for the viewers as well listeners as well, because the state of being you're in will always be reflected in what you're thinking, what you're feeling and what you're doing. And then stay you can't you cannot perform a state of being. You can temporarily perform it, but you're going to go back to the default setting. And there's two types of thoughts. So the positive thinking thoughts, that's a focused thought. So if it was, you know, think about your favorite vacation place right now. You could take your mind there. You could take your mind anywhere. I think of your car, think of whenever and you could spend time doing that. That's a focused, directed thought. That's type one thought. Type two thought is that persistent thought that comes from the subconscious,
that wakes you up at 3 a.m. That fear, that catastrophe, the worry. That's a thought come from your state of being. That's the intrusive thought. If you're in resistance, that's a thought we're dealing with when we deal with that through the state of being. Because that's the thing that's pumping out those thoughts and people don't understand it because they will just think positive. You know, be more, you know, say good things. Great. But what about the subconscious that I trained for 35 years, you know, when I was back in a day struggling? That's what I deal with. And when I dealt with that and when I transformed that, my life caught up very quickly. Super powerful. I like how you explain the two types of thoughts because I've been there. I've even heard guru say, like you create like this kind of morning ritual that put you in that state of thinking all these positive thoughts, but the intrusive ones that are in your subconscious don't stop. And they, they're right after that. They're like, oh yeah, what about this big thing? You know, it's like sugar. And yeah, that's such a great example of what that of those two thoughts because we all go through every day thinking those. And for my, for people listening to this show, like they know
those shows about, you know, marketing and AI and all these things. And the reason why I wanted to bring you on, Mike is because your stuff, what you teach sits at the foundation of all of that. You can't be a good business owner, entrepreneur, leader, and whatever without clearing this type of stuff. And, you know, I've spoken to your clients and I've heard the transformations that you've created, which are super powerful. And yeah, and it's just a, it's the reason I want to dive into all this because I know none of this stuff works without having fixed a lot of the stuff. Or at least, like you said, you mentioned like you have challenges and problems every day, but you wake up happy. You got to deal with those challenges. Let's see if you're at any one of, you know, anyone that is in marketing, as you know, you know, like there's challenges, man. And I'm, whether you're running as you're, you're whatever, you're a sequel to your funnel. It's a constant diagnosis. It's kind of, you know, so you're going to have that stuff. That's just, that's the challenge I'm talking about. And when you're in a state that's in power, right? The one I call
acceptance, you move through those things, you see things, but there's still not going to not happen. The powerful thing about the state of being, and this is something that everyone has to know, that law is real. You know, if I pick up these, you know, my glasses and drop them, they're going to fall. Gravity is always an action. We're not going to jump off roofs because we absolutely understand the law of gravity. Well, this law vibration, the self-help world calls it love, love attraction. It's real. So if you're in a state of being of need every day, I need money, I need clients, I need better marketing, or you're in a state of being a fear every day, that's what you're going to keep experiencing. So if you don't address that pit, your stomach, if you don't address the mind is communicating with you, you're subconscious. So the the non-physical part of you is essentially your co-pilot. It's saying, hey, Lewis, we're in a state of being of tension right now, or fear, or lack. How do I know that? Well, the bank accounts empty, or the, I'm afraid that we, if you don't get any clients next month, then we're going to be this, and we're
in a mind-tasting future pacing, right? And it's all a state of being. We need to deal with that, because you can't outwork that you cannot perform it. It's a law. As absolute as gravity is this law of vibration that you're never, you know, you've got to get into a state of being internally, consistently that mirrors the goal you have externally. And then you'll experience it. And it's so hard for people to do that sometimes because they're like, yeah, but I've got this, yeah, but I've got that. And I've got a client now who's early on in the program. And she owns a company in Michigan. And she's like, but coach, I've got to make paralyzed. I said, I understand that. And she read my book. And I said, do you see where I wasn't chapter four? Because yeah, I said, why I knew that if I didn't pay child support, I was going to jail. Okay. So you don't make payroll. You know, and she goes, you know, and I've got to avenue is to get it. And I said, but every day that you're focused on that payroll, every day, you're you're in a state of being a lack state of being a need, state of being a fear, you're going to make it more difficult. You'll probably find a way you
always have, but why don't you get into state of being a flow and let this, this infinite intelligence, this, this universe, this field of energy work on your behalf. And then you're not only going to make payroll, you'll exceed that, but getting people out of their circumstances is not as easy as it sounds. That's probably our biggest challenge with people in the program, but when they started applying what we teach them, then they skyrocket. Coach Mike, I want to ask you this because that, I mean, there's so many mistakes. So many of you mentioned in positive syndrome stress, anxiety, all the things we all as entrepreneurs or business owners or people trying to do things and achieve it at a high level experience. Is there one mistake or even we could say a fault that like 99 or most of your clients come through that you work with, have in common? Is there a mistake that they're making in their daily lives or something that you just see over and over again? Yeah, I would probably say they're addicted to their circumstances. Okay. Okay. Now if these principles, and I learned them,
and I thought, I believed them, you know, I thought, yeah, it has to be. And I believed them because my life that I lived up to that point of my collapse was exactly what I felt I deserve. Yeah, I felt like, you know, I was ashamed of who I was. I was embarrassed. I've had people, my friends that have read the book, you know, my buddy told me, he goes, Mike, I didn't know you were living the whole tower. You know, why don't you call me? Success embarrassed. You think I want anybody to know that? And so I looked at my life at that point, Lewis, and I thought, you know, it's a direct reflection of everything I've been. So I believed it. But it took me a while to find out how to get to, you know, that state of being a flow of what I call acceptance. And, and I couldn't, I couldn't no longer relate to that guy because there's some variables that are very important. The state of being is absolutely a paramount importance. You've got to clean up the environment with the mind. So I call it the diet for the mind. You've got to start feeding it. Things that are healthy. You can't keep just regurgitating your circumstance, talk about them,
dwelling about them, assessing about them. And, and then you got to change your beliefs and you got to change your paradise. Right? All the stuff I outlined in the book, but it's like, it's like, if you still believe you're a failure, you still believe life's tough. You still believe that making money's tough. They get into that next level of scaling your businesses tough. You're going to experience that. You're never going to outwork your state of being a limiting belief, a limiting parent. I'm never you will experience that. So people that become addicted to their circumstances, they say, well, listen, you've created it. Not consciously, but unconsciously. So it's like, you and I make an up pizza and we put pepperoni on there and we're like, well, I don't like pepperoni. And then we sit for two hours and get you about the pizza that we made with pepperoni. I was like, well, let's just make a new pizza. Well, what I had to do back then is I divorced myself from my circumstances. Not yes, I pay a child's support. Yes, I was going to divorce. So I dealt with my attorneys and I went to court and I did all that shit that you have to do. But beyond dealing with it, I never spoke about it. I never, I never revisited it. Somebody said to me, I'm going through divorce. They used to talk about it at nauseant. My cause divorce was good. Good. Should be over
soon. How you doing? My cause life good. Getting better every day, man. How you doing? I wouldn't say, I'm okay. You know, I'm, it's all right. I'm hanging in there. All of that bullshit stuff that we say when we're struggling and people have a hard time. Lewis saying, I'm terrific. I'm amazing because if they have one thing in their life that's weighing on their mind, that's the way they feel. That's what's driving their behavior and their addicted or circumstances. So to get people at those circumstances, that's one of the biggest challenges we have. Like that, you know, business owner I told you about it. You know, she just addicted to that. And I said, when you, when you break up with that version of you, mentally, emotionally, verbally, you got to stop reinforcing it. You got to stop telling yourself and other people about it. And you've got to change the mind. And when you do that, then that stuff, you're basically releasing it. Excuse me. And then you're giving it the ability to change. But every day you sit there, mentally, emotionally, verbally in that, in your circumstances, you're hanging out and you're keeping that
strong cloud right above you. That is super powerful because like you're, we wake up in our circumstances. Like if you live in a place you don't want to live or if you have a relationship, you don't like like you're kind of a, you're near it all the time. But like you mentioned, well, when I talk to people and you talk people, it's like how you do. And there's sometimes a deep sigh before that question. And I've done it too. And it's, it's powerful what you say around just like not becoming a victim of it anymore and changing them like realizing that like it's a choice. I like the personality too. And Louis, who's inside job, you know, and I teach us the clients, you know, they think that they're in a relationship. She won't let me do this. He won't let me do this or, you know, yeah, I'd be great, but you know, my my marriage is this or my business is that or I can't find good, you know, and I say, license, I jump, put all of your attention, all of your focus on changing your inner world. What we see in our exterior world and the physical
experiences is just a reflection of our inner world. The power is understanding and mastering that life is inside job and doing all the work there. I had a really powerful story just yesterday. I wanted my coach and this group out of Florida, their tremendous group of see, you know, see sweet exacts and things. And this woman said coach, she's in sales for the companies. She's got two other people in the group of 12. I'm coaching that are her, you know, co-co-business development people. And she said the RFPs are flying in now. And we've done nothing different, you know, from a marketing standpoint, but all of a sudden they're all flying in. She goes, and what's remarkable, I've had your mother's out a little bit older. And she goes, I've had this relationship with my mother my entire life. It's been contentious. It's been negative. It's been everything. And by focusing on me and changing me, I actually look forward to these visits with my mom now. They're enjoyable. They're fun. You know, she's 80 years old. And now my experience with her is completely different because I changed. And all of a sudden now the conversations aren't negative.
They're fun. They're enjoyable. And I want to spend as much time as I can with my mom while she's here. And now I'm living, you know, when you change internally, you're in a different state. Let's say now of peace of freedom. You're going to literally attract that from the people in your life. So it's a youth thing, not of them thing. Ever. It's not anything. It's not an them thing. It's a youth thing. Always life shouldn't say job. I love that. Well, this is why we named your podcast that, man. Because I think I created you because I was pushing for another direction, but I could see where it makes more sense now. I love it. So yeah, I'm going to do an episode of Louis that I explain that. Like, what does this people mean? What does, you know, this is what life is inside job means to give people your understanding there. Yeah, I love that. I've got, I've got one more question for you, Coach Mike, because this is a podcast around AI. However, we haven't talked about it at all. And I think one of the things that I've thought about recently is like, well, you know, AI is a superpower, super commuter, but also computer, both so as our subconscious, as you mentioned in our minds, what decisions should we never outsource to another
person or to an AI or machine? And I'll speak to the, if you're your business owner, you run a great team, you have a lot of clients. If for someone who's like that in your, in our scenario, what are the decisions they should never outsource to an AI machine? Cross your gut. Always, if you're in a state of being a flow, if you're in a state of being a fear of state of being what I call resistance, right? Need, you're going to make bad decisions a lot of times. So it in that flow state, get into that state of acceptance as I, as I call it, and there's a process that we teach your clients. And I outlined it in the book, the broken sage and, but it's a powerful, powerful process and get an estate, but AI should be used as a tool. And a lot of people, unfortunately, now are using AI to feel better because if you've ever interacted with AI and I do it all the time, they're like, man, it's like the best cheerleader ever. And they'll be like, yeah, you're great. You're great. You do that. Use it as a tool and take a number of things. You know, some of the best value I found with AI is like, I hate typing long
ad-hams. You know, I say, hey, I've got to respond to this person who did type an email. This is what I want to say and this is what I want to do. And I'll type it. I'm not a fight from there. But, but I use it like, hey, I'm, you know, give me, you know, we want to strengthen up our, we want to minimize our no-show sequence in our, in our breakthrough calls or we want to strengthen up our pre-call sequence. What, what ideas do you have? And we won't do it for bait them. We'll take that. So any important decision, you know, trust your gut. You've got more experience in your life than the AI does. But if you've got like, you know, tactical questions and things for you, I use it, but, but never outsource the really important things in your life. Don't ask AI for marriage advice or, or play because they're not in your, they're not in your relationship. They don't know your person out. They might say, this is a great anniversary gift. Take, you know, this is a, I literally saw my wife and I, Kelly and I are going to California in Lake Tahoe next week. We're, we're visiting our water. I'm visiting some clients
and then I'm going with another client to play golf in Lake Tahoe. We're going to spend a weekend and I've never been to Lake Tahoe. So I said, hey, what should we do in Lake Tahoe for the weekend? You gave about three or four or five great things. Perfect. And that's what you so don't ever, you know, you've got to trust your gut. You've got to make decisions. And I would say more important than AI, more important than anything in your life is you've got to treat, you know, if you're, if you're anyone in life that wants to accomplish great things, your inner world, state of being beliefs, paradigms, mind must reflect the goals you want. It's almost impossible to achieve them. So that's where your primary focus should be. And, and use AI as a tool like anything else. Okay. That's, that's, that's super helpful. And I can definitely attest to like, when I'm in that state of flow, like good ideas, good directions, good things come much quicker, easier than I, than me ever prompting and going down a million rabbit holes with AI. So I can see how that, how that makes sense. And just making sure
you're not making decisions out of fear or in that, in that resistance state. 100% and super. Yeah, 100% and then when you get into that, when you get in that flow state, and there's a process to it, right? It's not these distractions, man. Don't keep pumping yourself up every day. If you're in a state of being difficulty, whatever, then do the work inside. And, and, you know, just another, another little shout out to the book, but the broken sage, you know, I tell my story, but the last, you know, eight, nine chapters are all this formula. It's everything that you want. And, and I felt it was never a book out there, Lewis, that had it all. Like, I read 250 of them. I'm like, well, this is good, but in complete, this is good and complete. And, I laid it out in the broken sage. So simple and so digestible that people can't fail if they apply it. Now, you got to be committed. I say that in chapter seven, if you're not committed, man, you've got to make this work important. People are committed to their circumstances, right? And you should, you got to perform. But if you're addicted to that, you've got to be
addicted to, you know, what I became addicted to, which was transforming my mind. And then it's, it's a no brainer. Yeah. We're going to link the book below. And I'll make sure, we make it super easy for people. And I'm going to pick up my copy today. So that's definitely one. Every year, I'll see your address. And I'll get you a copy, buddy. I'll get this. I love it. I want to, I want to make sure I, I pay for it. And even get some from my team as well. Yeah. Coach, anything else, is there any question I didn't ask or thing we didn't cover that you think is worth definitely discussing before we close it out here? Well, I make sure. What I, what I tell people, you know, then my company is, is, you know, no limits nation, right? And the anxiety for executive and anxiety for student is, is a part of that. And I just tell people, just understand you are capable of so much more than you're experiencing now, even like I tell my inner circle, right, the clients that hear from me every day, I said, you know, if I think I'm leaving something on the table, you never know what you can accomplish. You know, back then,
when I was a mess of living in hotel rooms and, and I was giving, I was a baseball coach back in the day. So I was giving hitting lessons to pay for another, to get enough money to put it on a prepaid credit card to get a hotel room on price line every week. That's how I was surviving back then. And, and I said, if I could go from that to the impact, I could never see like I said, yeah, I want to, once I decided to coach people, I never thought it would be this big. I never thought I can impact this many lives, but I'm just getting started, man. It's just like, it's like, I've got so many more things. So I tell people, you have no idea what you're leaving on the table. And everything you want in life is any other side of your emotional resistance. And we've got to be aware of that resistance. We've got to clear that resistance. We've got to get you into that state of being a flow of acceptance. And then you can accomplish, you can even see right now. So every goal, every outcome, everything you dream about is any other side. I've created a life with Kelly and our, you know, that was my dream life back in, you know, 2007. And I've lived it
for many years now. And I never felt I deserved it. But once I did this work, I know I absolutely deserve it. And so, and I'm just get lay, I said, I'm getting started. And there's a real quick story with a client, Aidan, collegiate golf, it's just happened this weekend. But collegiate golf, her parents reached out to me. He had a crippling, he had anxiety his whole life. 22 years old had a crippling panic attack last August on a golf course where the pro shop had to come out and pick him up. He was frozen. The next three months in his house, two of those, or one of those months in his bedroom, wouldn't leave his bedroom. And he ate his food and now when he was crippled in fear, the family found me through a doctor in Pittsburgh. He's got a college mic. And it took me about four months with Aidan to get him out of it. And I've never done this before, but he actually moved in with Kelly and I for about three weeks, because I can really, because he's making progress, but not enough. Flash forward now, Aidan's back. He's playing golf six days a week. He's going to finish his senior year of college. And in the last two weeks, he got a hole in one at Oakmont
Country Club, the same hole that he had the panic attack. And on last year's first hole in one ever, he's a plus five handicap. It's good to play. And he won his club championship Sunday, three day events, it's company. So and his dad sent me this no great guy. He's got his dad. He goes, coach, it's beyond comprehension that this was the kid in January that couldn't leave our house. And he said, I can't wrap my mind around what he's doing. And I said, Scott, this is just the beginning. You know, you have no, this kid's capable of it. I want everyone to understand that if you feel you're leaving stuff on the table, you don't have to. Okay, everything that you want, okay, is available to you. And most times it's on the other side of your resistance. Yeah. Oh, that's that's such a cool story. Oh great. Great. Kidman. He said, it's your Sunday. I was beaming with pride. I was like, man, I love it. So it was, it was fun. He's a good kid. Great family. You know, anxiety, you're not doing anything wrong with when you're having anxiety,
when you have it, posture, it's just what your mind's been trained. Stop making it your life set and to stop making it personal. Just let me train your mind. And he wasn't a bad person because he had crippling anxiety. Just that's the way his mind was trained. And so we got to get him through that. And he said, I'll work to do because we've got a lot of things to accomplish. And maybe even professional, we don't know. You know, we're talking about that now. But the next goal is finished the CD or college and go from there. Yeah. Thanks for sharing that. That's that's really a really cool story. Coach, for people who want to know or want to connect connect and reach out to you, what's the easiest way for them to do that? If they want to, you know, potentially set up a call with our team and discuss their options or the program, whatever, just go to nolimitsnation.com. Forward slash book, if you want a book of call or just go to our website, nolimitsnation.com. And they could, they could just, you know, see what's going on there. There's a, you know, hundreds of client stories and things. And they get the book, the broken sage jacket. And either way,
we'd love to hear from you. Love it. We'll link those in the show notes and as well, they're on YouTube Spotify, Apple, either any of those will be all on there. And really powerful stuff, coach, my, I just want to say thank you again. And I appreciate your time. Appreciate you being here. It's my pleasure, buddy. My honor to be here. So thank you. Hey, Jesse, you know, a couple of things. Number one, this is the end of the episode. Number two, I have a completely free no strings attached, no email opt in required gift for you. And it's called the podcast scaling framework. Now, this essentially is a Google doc that lays out the long process we take clients through from ideation to monetizing. It's going to take you through things like the seven podcast formats that you should test or at least consider the five different monetization systems we use for our clients and how to execute them, all the KPIs, all the different types of podcasts you can set up based on your business, your size, your goals, et cetera, the very comprehensive document. Again, I teach my team on this. We also walk through with our
private health and wellness expert clients. We walked them through this and we work with them on this stuff every single month. So it's a living document. You will may see me and there are sometimes changing things or tweaking things because again, it's a framework that we're constantly updating. But check it out, it's completely free. Again, no email opt in required, which may change in the future. I don't know. So just get it now while it's free. But check that out. Use it. Let me know what you think and if we can help in any other way, if you want step by step, more hand help, more of a white glove service, then reach out to us at toptonpodcast.com and we'd love to chat. Thanks and talk to you.
