How Sharjah Is Dealing With The Rain (24/03/26)

Charger is bracing itself for the spell of the unsettled weather and local authorities they're making sure all the residents are well prepared and equipped. Let's start with Charger Police. They have ramped up traffic patrols across the country. They have positioned officers along busy roads and junctions to keep all the traffic flow to be smooth and reduce any risks for drivers. I think they've distributed about 80 patrol cars. They have been deployed in areas prone to water accumulation and drivers. They might see temporary lane closures or detours in action as well. But their advice, the Charger Police advice to motorists is to slow down. Keep a safe distance, avoid any distractions, make sure tires and brakes are in good condition and if you don't need to drive, please consider staying off the roads altogether.

1:04Yeah, I think that's the main message there. I noticed that this morning I can imagine people possibly chose to work from home this morning because they saw how heavy we were hit with the rain last night. But I've noticed that we've recovered ever so well. If someone was to arrive here in the Emirates of Charger today, they would probably think it didn't even rain yesterday. That's how clear it is all because of the Charger Authority. So absolutely incredible there. And I want to just give a quick mention. If you do come across anything that needs to be reported, anything that you feel is that you want to contact the Charger Police about, of course, their emergency line is 999. That is all only for emergencies. But if you want to get in contact with the non-emergency or the call center, that's 901. Very important to know. Of course, Charger Municipality is 993. That's the hotline and any complaints that you might have. Put these into your phones and make sure that you can use them for complaints, any public issues that need to be reported.

2:05Because this is a time when we can't just only rely on the authorities, but we also have to rely on each other to make sure that we can get through this together. Just mentioning what's been taking place over on the east coast. Of course, when we do have these windy conditions and these wet conditions, coastal areas like Cord Foccan can be hit quite hard. One thing we do know is that Cord Foccan Municipality, they stepped up this time round. Really, they did because their preparations to really tackle this adverse weather needs to be celebrated. They actually deployed teams and equipment across key locations all to ensure this rapid response system and to ensure that public safety as well. It's been stated by the head of the crisis emergency and rain committee being coloured on NACB stating that field teams have been stationed across Cord Foccan to really work around the clock. He has highlighted ongoing coordination with relevant authorities to respond effectively to any developments they distributed water pumps. They've distributed tankers across various areas to manage rainwater accumulation.

3:09Not only are we noticed that in the east coast, but we've really noticed that across the greater Emirates of Charger that when you're driving to work this morning, you're noticing it to be clear. If you've been in the UAE and Charger for a number of years, that level of progression, that level of preparedness to deal with such downpours is incredible. It needs to be celebrated that us as an Emirates us as a country can deal with this adverse weather. By the way, guys, we are a desert environment, but we're still here with very heavy rainfalls every now and then. Absolutely. What's really impressive so far is that the rain hasn't caused major disruptions and life here in the Emirates of Charger is continuing safely and accordingly. And in addition to that, Charger municipality announced that free public parking throughout the city, which includes paid zones to ease mobility during this weather. Parks and fitness centers, they have been temporarily closed until conditions stabilized and residents are being asked to remain cautious and avoid any water-logged areas.

4:12Also, authorities are also reminding drivers to be extra careful on the roads. The Ministry of Interior has urged everyone celebrating, still celebrating, or maybe they're enjoying the weather right now just to keep safety top of mind while enjoying anything that they want to enjoy, whether it is, you know, being playing in the rain or being out and about. So, yes, very important. Charger's municipality's 24-7 hotline is at 993 and also police 999 for emergency, for non-emergency 901, civil defense 997. So, those are the numbers that you need to keep saved in your phone. Yeah, I love the parking as well, you know, when you brought up there the free parking spaces because it can be quite scary for some people. When you come across a, let's say, a very big puddle ahead of you and you're driving a small sedan car, you just don't know if your car is going to be saved, it can be expensive to repair.

5:12So, what they're doing basically is they're saying, hey, don't worry about it. Pull over, find a parking space and just wait until the situation is dealt with, maybe find another way home. And that is all completely for free because we are getting through this together. I absolutely love it. Something I want to also say quickly before we move on is if you do hear any loud noises. It is a storm, guys. This is a rain storm. Don't be anxious. Don't be scared. It's just a bit of rain that's coming across the country. Yesterday was considered one of the worst days that will happen this week. The next day that we're going to be hit with quite heavy rainfall is Friday. And of course, here in Charger, it's our weekend. So, don't worry too much over the next couple of days. It's going to be easy. We're going to get through this and we're going to... I would say try to enjoy it. Try to enjoy it as much as possible. It's not every day when we get some lovely rain, is it? I know. We've got to enjoy it. And of course, always remember in the back of your head that Charger authorities are leaving no stones unturned. They've got your back, you know, from all their traffic patrols to the municipal teams on the ground to make sure the city,
