How NetSuite Supports Corkcicle as a True Omnichannel Business

You've probably heard about the super cool (pun intended) brand Corkcicle, the company that created the first-ever in-bottle wine chiller and evolved into insulated tumblers, coffee mugs, coolers, canteens, barware and more. On this episode, guest host and NetSuite content marketing manager, Ian McCue, chats with Corkcicle's chief operating officer, Blake Thomas, about the company's growth journey over the past decade. Thomas takes us back to the start of the company in 2010 (2:00), and how it scaled from selling solely to independent retailers to becoming a truly omnichannel business across D2C and big box retailers (6:47). He then explains how the pandemic caused a shift in demand from retailers to D2C (9:59), the challenges around a huge ecommerce boom like that, and how the company handled it (13:15). Speaking of challenges, Thomas takes us back to some of the fundamental challenges the business faced as it continued to grow, add more SKUs and sell across more channels (19:07). He explains that the business was operating on multiple systems with very little insight into actual performance (24:01). Corkcicle decided to implement NetSuite for greater visibility and control over inventory management and demand planning as well as the ability to work from anywhere (25:54). Thomas says "NetSuite was the human brain" of Corkcicle, driving the bottom line margin (27:55). Most recently, Corkcicle implemented SuiteCommerce as its ecommerce solution (32:39), which not only allows their wholesale customers to make orders from anywhere and at any time (34:17), but also acts as a sales enablement tool (35:30). "Our entire ecosystem runs on NetSuite," he notes. "It's our spine." Thomas concludes by revealing that Corkcicle is making long-term strategic plans and feels confident in partnering with NetSuite to make them happen (37:34).
