How has footy media handled the Sydney Swans?

Federal politicians, former AFLW players and survivor advocates have criticised football media's framing of the Victoria police investigation into an alleged sexual assault in Melbourne. Four Sydney Swans players have been linked to the investigation, although there is no confirmation the four players are directly involved or that they have all spoken to the police.

Overnight the Sydney Swans declared that some of its players are in "serious breach" of club standards and have signalled a tougher approach.

It follows days of uncertainty over how the AFL and the club would handle the allegation.
