Radical Truth — How Did Muhammad Treat Women? (Olin Giles). Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
Hey guys, Olin and Jowls here with Radical Truth Ministries. As you can see behind me, I'm at the Islamic Center of Boon. The mosque is in this little strip mall behind me. The last time I was here, there was a young lady, looked like she perhaps was in her 20s, maybe a college student at Appalachian State University. She was here confessing the Shahada. She was essentially becoming a Muslim. And I want you to know it really just broke my heart. And at that moment, I wanted to come back and make a video about what Islam teaches about women. So that's the reason I'm here today. I have my iPad here in front of me just to make sure that I give you the references for what I'm telling you. You don't have to take my opinion. You can go to the Islamic sources themselves and check out what I'm saying. Does Islam honor women?
This is something that they like to say. They like to say that Islam honors women. It respects women. They would say things like that the Quran has a chapter on women as if that really matters. I mean, it's not really in their favor. In fact, what it has to say about women in the Quran is very much against women's rights. So this is the problem for Islam. Don't believe their claims. Young ladies, I'm telling you, don't believe what you're being told about Islam. You owe it to yourself to do the research. There are multiple sources that I want to try to give you here that talk about how a Muslim man should treat a woman. So if you're a young lady like this one that I saw here in the mosque, she was blonde, hair, blue-eyed, surrounded by other college students that looked like her, but she was
becoming a Muslim. And of course, I couldn't tell her right there in the mosque what she was getting herself into. And perhaps this video will help her if she saw it, maybe it'll help some other young ladies if they watch it. But here's the thing. Here's what Sarah, 434 says. Sarah is just another name for chapters. So chapter 4 verse 34 says that men are in charge of women. And righteous women are obedient to their husbands. And if, listen to this now, if a man, if the husband fears arrogance from the woman, he is to first advise them, scold her verbally. If that doesn't work, it says if she persists in her arrogance, then he is to forsake her in bed.
And then lastly, the Quran says that he can beat her. Now if you're reading an English translation of the Quran, it's going to have things inserted into there that say things like tap her lightly, like as with a toothbrush. But this is not what's in the Arabic. This is not what the Quran actually says. It says to beat her. It actually uses the same Arabic word that was used of Moses to strike the rock, which was a story that is borrowed from the Bible. Other sources like the Hadith, there's one from Sunnah and Abu Dawood, 2147 says that a man will not be asked why he beat his wife. So under Sharia, he's not going to be questioned. He has the right as her husband, under Sharia, to beat her if he fears her arrogance. And notice that it says if he fears it. I mean, there's no probable cause.
There's nothing to back up his justification for beating her. It's just if he fears arrogance. And he's not to be asked why. He just is allowed to do it. Here's another one. Sahiba Kari, 5825. This is from Ayesha who was Muhammad's child bride. I mean, just go do your research on this. Muhammad's child bride is talking about in this Hadith. She's talking about another Muslim woman. And she says, look, her skin is greener than her clothes. So this woman is so bruised up. And her skin is turning green from the bruises that she has on her body from her husband beating her. And this is all justified in Islam. If the woman doesn't like this and attempts to take matters into her own hands, which might
happen here in America, but it's not going to happen under Sharia in an Islamic country. Because she decides to take matters into her own hands. This woman that's been beaten by her husband needs to find another woman as a witness. So in the Quran, in Islam, it takes two women to equal the witness of one man. And you find the same thing when it comes to inheritance. The woman gets half the inheritance of a man. Folks, this doesn't sound like equal rights to me. This doesn't sound like Islam is very favorable for women. Sarah 4.3, so chapter 4 verse 3 says that a man can have up to four wives. Think about this as a woman. You are not that special girl. You are not that special lady that he has gone, he's going to devote himself to for the rest of his life. He has, he can have up to four.
So not only does this create a problem in the family, but it creates this atmosphere where women are just belittled to sexual toys, basically. The Quran says that a woman is like property to be plowed however the man would like. Sarah 4.24 says that men can have women and it describes these women as those whom your right hand possesses. So a Muslim man can not only have four wives, but he can have sex slaves, basically. Those whom his right hand possesses, the right hand speaks of power. Unbelievable folks that this is what Islam teaches about women. I know that most people are unaware of these things and that's why I'm making this
video. You deserve it. You deserve to take the time to do some research before you go into a mosque and become a Muslim. You are valuable in the sight of God, you're made in the image of God. The Bible says that a husband should love his wife as Christ loved the church. How did Christ love the church? He laid down his life for her. This is vastly different from what we find in the Quran. Ladies, young ladies, please hear me. It's going to take you all of about 30 minutes. You can go to sooner.com. You can go to answering islam.com. They will give you the resources that I just mentioned. They'll give you entire articles on women in Islam. It's going to take 30 minutes of your time. Go do some research before you walk into one of these mosques before you fall in love
with a Muslim man. Before you marry a Muslim man, please think about doing this before you take that step. Once you become a Muslim, I know we're here in the United States, but according to my homies, if you do walk into one of these mosques and you don't know anything at all about Islam and you become a Muslim by confessing the shahada, the shahada is just their confession of faith which says, there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet. So once you do that, in their eyes, you are a Muslim. If you do that because you're ignorant of Islam and then you find out the hard way how a Muslim man can treat his wife, he can beat her, he can have four wives, he can have sex slaves, you're just basically a piece of property. Once you find out all these things the hard way and you decide to leave Islam, according to Muhammad, you can be killed.
So this is a very serious matter. This is not something that is trivial, something to be taken lightly. So that I pray that you will share this video with other ladies. Think about what I've said. Folks, the Bible is the only book that God has written. It gives God's picture for marriage as one man and one woman. There is mutual love between the two. Obviously, you're going to have problems in marriage. My wife and I have been married since 1984. We've had our share of problems, but I love her and she loves me. And we have this wonderful relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ that has just changed both of our lives. And I'm so grateful for that. That is what is good for us, that is what's good for you and the rest of humanity.
So please think about this, share the video, start a conversation with somebody on campus about what I've said. Take the time to look at these sources for yourself. You will thank me later. God bless.
