How did Leon Marchand split 41.1 after 3:34.4 400 IM?! 😮

How did Arizona State's Leon Marchand win the 400 IM (3:34.4!) and then split 41.1 on the back of the 4x100 Medley Relay?!?   

Coach David Marsh with some analysis after watching Leon clean up at Pac-12's:
