House Fire on Ukraine Road: Quick Response Saves the Day

0:00On March 11th, firefighters rushed to a house fire on Ukraine road in Lower Kursau, Southford, just after 10.36pm on March 10th, 20.26. Three engines from Southford and Broughton stations arrived quickly to tackle the blaze at what turned out to be a shared occupancy home. Crews stayed on scene for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, using breathing gear and a hose to put out the flames and stop them from spreading, further. Officers gathered on the street, watching as emergency teams work through the night, with police and paramedics also on hand. One person was already outside when firefighters got there and received treatment for smoke inhalation from ambulance crews. The area is now secure thanks to the joint efforts of fire and police teams leaving the community to recover from the close call.
