Why have I asked my HVAC guy I found on Angie.com to change my grandpa's trachea tube? Because I was so amazed by how quickly he replaced our air ducts. I knew I could trust him to change pop-ups too, while I was on vacation. Make a quick young man. Aw, see? Pop-up trusts you. I think we should call it doctor. Connecting homeowners with skilled pros for over 30 years.

Angie, the one you trust to find the ones you trust. Find pros for all your home projects at Angie.com. You're listening to the Dana & Parks podcast on KMBZ. Woo! It is good to be with you on a gorgeous. It's gorgeous. Wednesday afternoon? Yeah, that's a beautiful June day. What is the current temp? It's 72 degrees outside in the shade in the shade. I hotter under the sun. Legitimately had gloves, a hat, and a car heart on walking my dog this morning. I was wearing a down jacket. I took that as it's going to be another cold day. And I left my house to come to work dressed like it was still 31 degrees outside. It was not. It was, yeah. I wore green today. I should have worn it yesterday. I don't know what I was thinking. Going to get pinched. If only it came up the same day every year. I know, that's on me. I wore bright blue yesterday. I don't know what I was thinking.

Yeah, I, you know, I wish same Patrick Day was on March 17th every year. That's on me. That's on me. I'm glad I'm on today and not yesterday because I was working on like four hours' sleep. Although I did tune in to Jesse Reed on the radio yesterday. So yeah. Go ahead. Let it out. No, let it out. I feel like you have kind of a man crush on Jesse Reed. Oh, whoa, and stay down. Whoa, a little bit, a little bit. Maybe question mark. I, because you've never complimented how I look in my shirt and you've never complimented my muscles and you've never complimented which are extensive, by the way, my muscles. I mean, you have complimented my hair, but I've also complimented your riding ability. I mean, I feel like there was a little little bromance going on yesterday. Well, tiny little bit. Here's, can I tell you what I think?

Yeah. Unrequited. I think you're an overly sensitive little man girl. Big damn. Because what is happening? He called me today. The story goes deep. And he's like, are you going to flirt with me? Like you flirted with Jesse Reed yesterday? Oh, and I go, okay, here we go. Okay, I see where we're going. Oh, yeah, asking me too. And he goes, I mean, I mean, you were like basically asking him if he was on testosterone. And I said, no, I asked him if he took steroids. Which would be different than testosterone. Tomato tomato. Not really. Okay. And I, they are different. And I said, you are a jealous little man girl. I've never met Jesse Reed. Is he, is he wildly attractive? Yeah, I. What? Yes, Dan. What did you just say? He, I, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, I, but, but that's

all right, but no L or R. I, okay, he's out. Yeah, I, you know, I'll just drop in some slang on you. Some new kid, Lingo, full stop. Okay, here he is. No cap. There's a picture of Commander Jesse Reed. Oh, he is attractive. Okay, I can see where the, there would be a possible little bit of a man crush. All right. He's also a top gun pilot and top gun. The two top guns are my two favorite movies. You don't say he was, he's a naval aviator, a former naval aviator, who once attended the top guns school. And his call sign is Moby. A. Hab. You don't even know what's all signs. A. Hab. That's right. Good guy. Oh, shut up. Twins. This is awkward. Sad you like your role on Hannah Montana. Peter Fatz, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Sam, take my back on this. I did check your work. And he is listed as a voice actor on Hannah Montana on both IMDB and Wikipedia.

Yeah. But that was just so funny. I wasn't on Hannah Montana. Yes, you were. He doesn't want to admit that he was on Hannah Montana, but he was. Anyway, Moby, do you feel at peace now that you have called him out? I mean, yeah, I was at peace yesterday. When I tested you multiple times and said, what is happening? Getting hot in here. It was pretty funny. You should have been in this studio yesterday. Oh, okay. Oh, really? All right. So Dan Weinbaum, you had a story in your newscast that sparked particular interest as we have all but obsessed over the Epstein files on this program. No, but we, I mean, you, me, what now? Yeah, the Missouri United, a United Methodist pastor here in Missouri suspended for 90 days. After the church leaders learned she had previously worked for Jeffrey Epstein.

What? What's her position with the church? Reverend. I'm sorry, I thought you said Reverend. I did. Pastor. Oh, hell. Oh, yeah. And then the new detail today, when I say hell, like you're going to hell. And then the new detail today comes out and informs us allegedly, according to the files, allegedly, allegedly, you're going to hell. Not only did she work on Epstein's island, she was the administrative assistant and manager of the island. Doll. Something tells me she has some secrets. That's not a good look. That is not a good look. Doll. And her stint, by the way, as manager of said island was not like in 2008, 2010. Nope. It was August of 2018 to May of 2019, two months before he was arrested for sex trafficking crimes and then committed suicide in jail.

Now, when she worked on the island, allegedly, was she also still employed by the church or was this post church employment? Kind of tough to lead a church from Little St. James, but so this would be post I would assume it was pre pre church employment. I'm sorry, I thought you said pre. Yeah. So, something tells me she didn't put that on her resume, allegedly. I don't know if I would. I mean, managing an island is pretty it would be up there. That island, I would definitely put managing an island on my resume, but not that island. There is no way, in my opinion, that anyone who went to that island didn't know what was going on. There's no way. Now, she did claim, according to an interview with United Methodist News, that she never saw Epstein, nor anyone commit abuse. Of course not.

But she did admit that she knew that Epstein was a registered sex offender and had served 18 months prior for soliciting prostitution from a minor when she accepted the role as island manager. Dan, what do you want to say? I was just going to say, according to an article by KMBC, she previously served as pastor at first United Methodist Church in North Kansas City from 2011 to 2016, according to church records. All right, and then went to the island. Did she ever come back to the church? Do we know? Once he died in 2019, did she come back to United Methodist Church? There is no indication of that return. Who broke this news? Donald nine. The Epstein files? Well, well, I mean. And so, yeah, she worked as an administrative assistant in late 2018 and later as a temp property manager from January to May of 2019.

So that follows her time. What price is your soul? She is literally persona non grata. She has a scarlet letter kind of fun and she did appear in 100 excuse me. 1,800 documents. What? Again, I ask, what price is your soul? Sorry, allegedly. Yeah. Oh, Dan, did you already say, oh, 1 to 2018? Yes. Okay, sorry. Nothing to see here. It is a tangled web that we weave in this world. She has not been accused of any wrongdoing. She is just suspended for 90 days while the United Methodist Church decides to look into it. Okay, so wait a minute. So we have to watch out for taking leaps. Yeah, I don't disagree with you. But I find it very hard to believe. I'm not saying that anybody knew anything. Okay, I want to be very clear.

But I find it very hard to believe that you could work on that tiny little island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, ironic name, and not know something was a miss. Okay, if you did, then you did. But if she suspended for 90 days, that means she has gone back to work for the church. There's no other way to read that, right? Or she never technically ended her tenure as a pastor for United Methodist. But what took a sabbatical to go work on an island where a man is trafficking young girls and women? Yeah, it's important. She may not have taken the job. It's poor form. That, but maybe she took a job to work in an office and in real estate on an island that doesn't sell real estate.

Well, property manager, etc. I don't know, it's interesting. It's the closest tie that we have had, allegedly, to the Epstein files. I love your carefulness. The KZ connection. There was a number of comments about Kansas City and times that he would spend time in Kansas City during his life. And that was kind of a connection, but this is a direct line to the files. Again, clearly. I hate to say it over and over and over again. Allegedly, she hasn't been accused of any wrongdoing. No, she's not. Absolutely not. Allegedly. And we're not accusing her of any wrongdoing. But is this mean she's going to be blacklisted? Question mark, exclamation point. I don't think she's going to be welcome at Sunday service. I don't think so. If she is, there's going to be a lot of people looking looing. I do love it. Looky looing. 913-586-779-8-586-779-8 Here on Dana and Parks.

Because I was so amazed by how quickly he replaced our air ducts. I knew I could trust him to change pop-ups too while I was on vacation. Make it quick, young man. Aw, see? Pop-up trusts you. Uh, I think we should call it doctor. Connecting homeowners with skilled pros for over 30 years. Angie, the one you trust to find the ones you trust. Find pros for all your home projects at Angie.com. So we have mixtape coming you way at 4.45. We're gonna need some judges, by the way. Here in a little bit. The categories are pumping gas late at night in a deserted part of town. You're all alone and you have yourself a little dance party. Let me guess. Michael Mackie mixed or a milkshake. No, he did not put milkshake down for any of his offerings this week. Thankfully. Hey, that got a point last time.

That's more than I usually get. It did. Out of annoyance. Colleases milkshake is a jam. It is a crowd favorite. You've been deployed for two years. You're walking up to the front door. After two years overseas, what song is playing as you walk to the front door? And Han Solo just handed you the keys to the Millennium Falcon for a quick little joy ride through the Alder on the system. Best song to jump to hyperspace to. Those are your three categories. I'm just asking, is it Falcon or Falcon? The Millennium Falcon. Millennium Falcon. Okay, I've always said Falcon. I'm wrong a lot. Mayhem, Unveal. Moby. Have you ever heard the Mayhem clip? No. Oh, Sam, can you, can you? I still, I still believe that I say it normally, but. Let's do that. Oh, and can we do, because we haven't done it for a while, can we do Rebecca's?

In a non-monominium. In a non-monominium. I'm a non-monominium. I'm a non-monominium. No. Look, we do Rebecca. He's awesome. Okay, I haven't heard your Mayhem clip. What is it? So we were talking about if there was a world-ending event that was about to happen, funny. We were talking about the massive meteor in Ohio. For example, like Armageddon, if there was a giant meteor coming, and we were all gonna die, would they tell everybody? And I said, no, because it would cause mass mayhem. Well, it's not just, I'm sorry. Mayhem. Mayhem. Mayhem. Mayhem. Mayhem. Did you mean to say that? Is that how you say it? It's mayhem. It is not mayhem. Play it again. It's mayhem. I already pulled up the other one. Okay. And when you are. It's mayhem. Wanting to give some information to somebody, but you don't want your name out there. You speak on. Speaking on condition of ananomity.

Ananomity. Ananomity tells the associate. Thank you. Ananomity. Thank you. Ananomity. Okay. Never mind. That will never. That will never. Play it again. Absolutely incredible. Speaking on condition of ananomity. Ananomity. Ananomity tells the associate. Ananomity. Thank you. Ananomity. Okay. Never mind. Rebecca, we love you. Please come back. I know what that's caused in the studio. It's caused mayhem. Mayhem. Mayhem. Mayhem. A story here, clothing trends come and go. But in some cases, they don't stay away for too long. For decades, both the fashion industry and its devotees have referenced the so-called 20 year rule, which suggests its society is liable to see certain styles return at semi-regular intervals.

However, without any hard data to back up the claim, the rule has long remained more of a hypothesis. So what they're saying here is that fashion trends come back roughly every 20 years. Let me ask you this. Pairsuit pants. What is the one that you wish would come back and the one you wish never would? Well, nobody really looks good in bell bottoms. Bell bottoms have struggled to make a comeback. But I did see that you went to, was it California this week? Yeah. And you went out and saw one of your best friends. Yeah. And he was rocking some acid wash jeans. We need to talk about those acid wash jeans. If you have seen my Facebook post, he wore a pair that were the most acid of acid wash jeans and wherever we went, like he stopped traffic.

And some woman honked, rolled down the window and yelled, those jeans be jeanin'. And he was like, thank you, because he plays in an 80s cover band. And so he lives this 80s life all the time. We're talking headbands, spandex. Yeah, so if you are ever out in California and you get a chance to see careless whisper. That's the name of his band. There's a careless whisper and there's also a subset of it in the original band is in Florida. They rock. But yeah, he, anyway, just those jeans, acid wash jeans need to make a comeback. There you go. Okay, what is the one trend if you never see it again? You're good. Um, those weird plastic shoes

that girls used to wear. I think they were called jellies. I never wear them. Jellies. Because I was a boy. But yeah, they were just, it's kind of like the crocs of the 80s. Yeah, jellies, the rubber sandals. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And girls would go out on the asphalt and their feet would melt. I think crocs of the 80s are a pretty good description. Yeah. So. Whoa. Look up. Um, if I never see another pair of parachute pants in my life. Oh, parachute pants. Oh. Hittiest. Parachute pants. Absolutely hideous. For the win. I'm trying to think what I, you know what I'd like to see come back and every time I mention this on the air, people are like, what are you talking about? A weave belt. No. Oh. Um, thick shoelaces. Do you remember those from the 80s? Yes. Thick shoelaces. And you would wear them on like a detest tennis shoes or whatever. Made a big comeback in the early 2000s on skate shoes. Oh, they did. DC skate shoes, Supras.

Yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, if it's in the early 2000s, they're due for a comeback. It's every 20 years. No, they're not. Listen, I really, one of my favorite articles of clothing was a calnex sweater from the early 90s in J. Crew. And I just saw they literally literally brought back that exact same calnex sweater and it's called Vintage Now. And so let me tell you, I ordered them in every color of the rainbow. Okay, text line, simmer down. Have you not seen Laney Wilson in her bell bottoms? Oh, my God. Okay. All right. All right, brother. Take a pill. Take a pill. Who's Laney Wilson? She's a country singer. She is. She does have $10,000. Oh, she is. She is, the reason for having a, well previously known, nobody knows what happened. But she used to have a very, words, voluptuous, dairy-air, voluptious. She used to and doesn't anymore. Okay, not since the accident. We not talk about that. There was a meme going around for a couple of years

about what happened to Laney Wilson's butt. What happened to it? Some people think that she decided she wasn't skinny enough and took vitamin L. Oh, you know, You know, my friend Jeff, the acid wash jeans guy, he also is going to get his haircut into the most rockin' mullet ever. So I, would you do a mullet? I'm about a month overdue for a haircut and I am considering bringing it back. You're okay. I actually think the mullet is on, especially because of people like Bobby Whit Jr. I think the mullet is bait borderline on the verge of making him come back. I don't think it's back. 9135, we got to go to break. Be high produce. Be high produce. 9135, 867, 7998, here on Dayton Parks. All right, we got Nick State coming up here in the next segment. So when we go to break, we're going to need some judges.

If you guys would be so kind and be willing, we need three judges and three alternates in case somebody drops off. And I think we've got a pretty interesting list of categories today. These are thinkers, I had to think on these. You did? I did. I did. This isn't given an ounce of consideration. That's on you. You guys are trying too hard. So we're asking you, what are the trends since apparently according to this story? Clothing trends come back around every 20 years. Bell bottoms didn't seem to really make a comeback. I think they had a brief stint handful. I think they're back right now, guys. I don't know what you guys are. Bell bottoms are back right now. They are all over the shelves at different stores. And yeah, they're 100% back. OK. I want mall hair to come back. I want the biggest of big, I want. You mean due to the moon? I want the higher the hair, the closer it got.

Not a beehive, per se. Not a beehive, you're talking about like circa 1987. Like Nancy Wilson in heart, circa 1987. Like tease it to Jesus. That's what I want that back. Yeah, that's what I want. That's right. I did not like that style. From the text line, crop tops. No, no. OK. OK. OK. The Zubas pants. Zubas. Zubas, whatever they're called. And from the text line, sorry, Michael, Jellies are actually back. No. I have a friend and she wears almost exclusively Jellies. She might make fun of her sometimes for it, but she does. She's going to have arches, shoes. She really is. From the text line, denim jackets with too many rhinestones, or is it hard now? Although I could see denim jackets coming back. Oh, I would love denim jackets. With all the roll jeans. With the pins in the, what, you've already brought that back. With the pins and the patches of your favorite bands. Wait, you roll your jeans?

Oh, yes, he does. I roll all of my pants. He is Michael J. Fox circa 1985. I wear high-top shoes and roll my pants. Why do you roll your pants? I mean, you are 9 foot 7, so it makes sense. Well, it started, I don't know why it started initially, but randomly in high school one day, one of my friends showed me how to tight roll pants. And it literally, I haven't looked back. Change your life. Have not looked back. You know, we used to tie roll pants back in 1984. I don't know. It was something, you know, you're in high school. You over-analyze the way you look, because you're trying to fit in. And I was a kid coming from Catholic school, going to public school. So I'd been in a uniform my entire life. I thought that it looked better. And I've just not gone back since. I feel like my legs look too long if I don't roll my pants. I know that sounds weird. There you go. I loved tight rolling my pants when I was a kid. Look at the text line. Okay, tube tops should not take a comeback.

And then right above that, it said tube tops should come back. Oh, text line, you're so fickle. Oh, for the text line, rolling your jeans is stupid. Sorry, Sam. Me and my 26 year old man self love my gym crop top. Okay. It, hey, if I could pull off a crop top, I would wear, I would wear it right now. I would wear it on the air, probably. By the way, my friend Jeff wears crop tops. And it's, he can totally pull it off. And I hate him. Ooh, cargo pants shorts should make, should come back. Wait, listen, 5, 7, 9, 9, cargo pants shorts should make a comeback or they should go away forever. Yeah, I love all these suggestions on the text line. We need to know if you love it or hate it. It said thumbs up or thumbs down. I wear cargo shorts. Yeah. Yeah. We know. Or is that bad? It's okay, Chad. Okay. I see how we're gonna play. You wear new balance shoes and white crew socks all the way up to the bottom of your calf muscles.

No, Sam, I don't. I wear black socks. Oh, okay. And I wear Brooks tennis shoes. Pair that. And Vance. Pair those cargo shorts with a bowling shirt. Okay. Okay. Don't forget your slip-ons. You wear what's comfy to you on the air. Like you dress like an 11 year old boy, but you're comfy on the air. And that's really all that matters. I dress, we mentioned this yesterday on the show when I was hosting with my man crush. I dress the same way I did when I was 17 years old. Hmm. Now, to be fair, I have not seen you in cargo shorts since like the second time I met you. And it did, you know, they talk about first impressions, good thing it was in the first time. Also, the first time I met you, Sam, you didn't speak. Like now I can't get you to shut up. But the first time, the first time I met you,

it was like, did he lose his tongue in a horrible bus accident? What's happening? You were kind of shy. You didn't have a lot to say. And now you're super opinionated with all your conspiracy theories that I'm here for it. Well, I lack a lot of confidence. No, you don't. Not anymore. Oh, he does. Oh, he does. Oh, I'm very sorry. Well, the high converse tennis shoes never, ever, ever come back. What about combat boots? The me high converse tennis, I've never, I've never, ever seen those before. That was a late 90s grunge trend. And for whatever reason, we needed, you know, due to the moon, we need the laces to the moon. Speaking of the 90s, first of all, I got to think about this the other day. How few pictures I have from the 90s? Okay. I even got married in the 90s. And, you know, obviously I have pictures of my wedding to Shonda.

But the 90s, as far as like, when I go through my photo albums at home, the 90s are almost a forgotten decade. It's crazy. But if there's one thing that should never come back, do tell the flannel shirt. Oh, I love being on. Oh, I'm on, you guys. Did the flannel shirt leave? I love my flannel shirts. I wear flannel shirts all the time. So why? You know what else I want to make a comeback because I saved every single one of them. That's, I said, I'm a big vest guy. I saved all, you know how you were a t-shirt. And then you just throw a vest, a colorful vest. Like a warm like, no, Patagonia vest or really colorful. Oh, no, I just wear like the warm Patagonia vest. Oh, no, I'm talking about like, like a vest that would belong in a suit, but it's not in a suit. Boom. I wear vest like the Arctic's about to break out, even though it's a fall day.

Boom. Yeah, that's true. The reason why you have no photos is because we were busy bouncing between print photos and digital photos in the 90s. Hmm. Yeah. Is no one had a phone? No one had a camera, no one had a camera. Well, you didn't have a, you didn't have a camera on your phone. Right. And I was trying to explain to one of the guys in the sports department yesterday, I can still remember, I think it was 95, maybe 96. When Sean and I ordered our first bag phone. Yeah. You remember that? Oh, the bag phone. The picture for sure. And you had to have $17 a minute. Right. Right. And I can still remember this gigantic man. He was, and he wasn't fat. He was just built. And he was the salesman for the bag phone company. I don't even remember what company was. And he was such new technology

that you didn't go buy it in a store. They delivered it to your house. From bag phones are us. So, and they had to show you how to work it. And you remember you would open the bag, you would lift up the antenna. You remember that? And the numbers were on the back of the phone. Yeah. And they were like the size of your thumb, the numbers. Right. I mean, there was no misdiling going on. No, he was no, yeah. Not back then. If you misdiled, you were blind. You could have 2,300 vision. You could still see the numbers. 913-586-7798, we need three judges, three alternates. Mix tape, let's go! Three judges, three alternates, 913-586-7798. Here on Dana and Parks.
