All right, let's finish off with our reactions. Our biggest takeaways from the weekend of college. And then we'll get to a little college basketball bubble and we've reached the final week of the regular season for the power conference.
Power conferences. We've already got some conference tournament games going on tonight and the rest of this week. We'll actually have punched some tickets by the end of this weekend already. March is here. We're guiding you through all the madness. There's no place you should rather be. Speaking of which, our friends at Bed MGM want you to know this. Bed MGM players will receive an any sport Parlay boost token to start the new year off. Right. That's right. The new year off. Right. It's March. And they're still giving out the any sport Parlay boost token. To use that Parlay boost token and a Parlay wager made up of any sport wagers to your bed slip and activate the token. If you win your wager that was made with that token, you will receive extra winnings. All right, so Brad, before we get to the teams that are on the bubble that had some decisive results to say the least. How about the hottest team in the country? The Florida Gators. You've got to tick it on them to win the title. And they actually got off to a slow start in this game. If you can imagine it. Because I remember I was following it. I was out on in Jersey City on Saturday
for my roommates birthday. And I was a couple of shots of whiskey that were being fed to me deep in and already. And I was watching that game go down. And I remember seeing it, let me actually double check here just to make sure that it was the correct moment of the game. I just I remember seeing it and Florida, maybe what halfway through the first half, they had only maybe 23 or 25. Actually, I guess that's a lot. It was earlier than that. They were down 16, 13 early on. And I was like, oh, all right, Arkansas, hang in tough. Next thing all of a sudden, I look back. It's right before halftime. And Florida's up 53, 34. And they go on and put up 111 points. And smash Arkansas, 111 to 77. I mean, my goodness. Every single starter was in double figures. They had seven players in total with double figures. Ruben Chinulu, 12 points and 16 rebounds.
And the great Thomas Hawk with 22. I mean, holy smokes. Florida just keeps getting better. They keep getting hotter. And I mean, well, you know, again, what is what is preventing the who's stopping this team right now as they're currently constructed, Brad? Because they're running through the SEC. They got two cupcake games to finish off the regular season. I don't see any team beating them in the SEC tournament. And Florida might just end up freaking playing their way. I think they're a lot for a two seed. Any chance that they can get a one seed or is that Duke Michigan Arizona's got that all locked up? And there's maybe one spot left. If they can wrestle it away from, let's say, Yukon. Either way, the Gators are chomping. Oh, yeah, you're exactly right. And I wrote about it just last week that they were very much still alive. The number one C conversation, though nobody was talking about them. They were plus 600 to achieve that feed a week ago. Oh, that price no longer applies.
They're around like plus one 50 to be the final one seed. And the biggest thing that I think a lot of people were looking was the strength of the SEC. Again, whether you're looking at Kim Palm, whether you're looking at Torvik, whether whatever advanced satellite excite is your favorite, that you're eternally reference a SEC is number one. And the power ratings across the board. And where's the biggest? They're like the fifth strongest conference in the land. So Florida has played a more rough and rigorous conference slate overall. This is a more rough and rigorous slate period overall. And they're destroying everybody. Just laying waste to every single opponent in their path. I look what they have been over the last 30 days. They're number three overall in Baraturvik. In terms of their overall efficiency, I should say, number 28 EFG offense, number 3 EFG defense. I really get an after the offensive rebounding, the meta top 10 squad, engineering second chances all season long. You mentioned Chendi Lou,
another monster rebound game. He's got a pair of 20 rebound games. This season, Alex Condon is at a long drink. He really stuffs the statue with the rebounds. The Poland's Thomas Hock was the star of this last game. I mean, hell, man, they out rebound in Arkansas, 51 to 31. 51 to 31 plus 20 rebound edge in that game. And their bench depth is getting more reliable. What clubs are with Brown, those guys that were kind of after thoughts, only like two to three weeks ago, or some rise occasion, they're getting meaningful minutes and they're contributing meaningful results. So if they get that level of consistency in the insane tournament, I don't care what region they're in, whether in the South, the Midwest, it doesn't matter. The East Florida to me will be unstoppable. And I don't think anybody is going to compete against them until they get to the final four. I think it is a foregone conclusion. They're going to be in Indianapolis.
This was a team that I believe they were capable of developing into a boogie flan. And Xavier Lee, either one of those guys could really step it up. And they both had been highly reliable and dependable. We had Dan Dackach on earlier. He made the exact same point. Everybody who was following college basketball knew the potential of this Gator's team. It was just whether or not those guards could offer up steady Eddie play. And we reached that point on the calendar. And that is why this downhill locomotive will not be deterred, will not be stopped until it reaches Indianapolis. Wow. Yeah, I mean, look, it's tough to deny I'm a final four spot right now because they're defense. They play at a fast pace. And they also play great defense. They've got the experience. Todd Gold improved last year. He's a hell of a head coach. I just, you know, it's it's like, it's an argument I can't even make. But like I just wish that the SEC
was a little bit stronger than it is because the conference kind of that doesn't stink. That would be that would be too harsh. It's nowhere near as good as it was last year or is historically good. We have what freaking 14 teams make tournament. But there's only a couple of ranked teams in this conference. And like the bottom half of it, the bottom half of the SEC stinks. So, I mean, even Arkansas, you know, great team, Darius, Aikov, Coach Cal, and they they blew them out of the water. That game wasn't even close after the first five minutes. So they're on fire. They are on fire. And they might not be tested until, I don't know, maybe the sweet 16. Okay, let's go to the bubble here, Brad, because the bubble is an ugly one. It's an ugly bubble. There's a lot of teams undeserving. There's going to be a couple of teams that get in. And we're going to have a lot of hot debates about it, of course. But let's talk about a team, a couple of teams that were on the bubble here who had the biggest resume blow this weekend. Yeah, at NC State, right now, getting trounced by Duke by 17.5, they lose at Notre Dame over the weekend and over time.
You had Montes Iowa Hawkeyes, of course. I hyped them up, and they ended up losing a Penn State over the weekend as well. That was a bad loss for them. EYU loses at West Virginia. SMU loses at Stanford. And Texas A&M loses at home to Texas. Out of those five teams, what do you think was the biggest loser of the weekend? Who had the worst loss of that bunch? I think it's some honest beloved, man, the Iowa Hawkeyes. You cannot lose to a bottom basement, big tin squad in Penn State, in front of a capacity to crown of like 325 there in Happy Valley. That was just embarrassing and it's excusable. Honestly, for Bimma Column to catch the L in that instance, I think it cost them a full line in seating. Is Iowa on the bubble? No, they're very far from it, but they went from a borderline 7-8 seed all the way now to a mid number nine seed as a result. They're three and seven and quarter at once.
You know, the overall net inside the top 30, number 28 overall, they played the 63rd toughest overall strength of schedule, but they're only number 51 on Bartorik over the last 30 days. They're not playing their best basketball. In fact, they're getting worse. There were one man show right now. Bennett Sturts is a bucket. There's no question about it. He's got to go out there score 2025 every single game, but the secondary tertiary players, they have got to step up, offer some scoring consistency and the defense as a collective is just flat out horrendous. Number 357 of last 30 days and effective few goal percentage events. That's nearly dead last folks in all of division one college basketball. They're giving up 41.3% from three 57.5% from two. They have got to rectify those offensive issues. Guard somebody. Get a hand in somebody's face. If they don't, you know, it played just a respectful level of defense,
they're going to get their asses handed to them in round one, no matter the matchup. And here I was singing their praise and they let me down like that. You know, that's why you can't trust in the Iowa Hawkeyes. You can't trust in that football team to score points. You can't trust in the basketball team to take care of business. Oh, man. All right. Let's continue the bubble banter here, Brad. Let's why don't let's go. Your bracket big board here. First four in to the tournament. So these teams are definitely safer than the last four in. First four in to the tournament here. Who's on the bubble and they're looking pretty good as of now. Give us the four teams. Yeah, I mean, the first four in these teams suddenly in as of today. Missouri UCLA, Texas A&M and TCU, who just about two and a half weeks ago was on the outside looking in, but that team has propelled themselves into the field. They're on pretty stable ground with a couple of games are meeting there in the big 12 slate. So, you know, I don't think any of these teams,
you know, if they were to lose out, it would maybe be a little bit different scenario, but they have out distance themselves. But the next two groups that we're going to be talking about. Again, Missouri UCLA, Texas A&M, TCU, firmly in on the bracket big board as of today. Okay, let's go to the last crop here. These teams, well, they won't be the last four to hear their name, but they will be the last four into the tournament. Teams number, I guess when you factor in that we're at 68, I don't know, 65 through 68. How have the hell you want to call it here? Who are the last four in? Who's hanging on by the skin of their teeth on the bubble? Who are the last four in to the NCAA tournament right now? Oh, Namesco, they got a huge win over the weekend again, San Diego State in the pit. Really, that was a very bubbleicious game. They bounced off the bubble and very firmly into the field. I think they were going to have their name called on selection. So they got a pair of games remaining. Colorado State way down this season. And at Utah State, that is a quarter one opportunity.
What are lose? I don't think it really matters either. They catch the L. I think they'll be in Dayton. The Ohio State, which was very much on the outside looking in. They finally got a note where they signature win, knocking off the Purdue boiler makers, much like they did last year. They bounced off the bubble and into the field. Look at Ohio State's overall resume on number 39. And wow, that's wins above bubble. They're top 35 of the net. They played a number 20 overall strength schedule. That's a very encouraging. I know they're only two in 10 in quarter one games. So they're only bad losses at Penn State. They can't pull an Iowa there. And then a monster, bubbleicious matchup in Columbus against Indiana, who I'm going to talk about here in a minute. Santa Clara is next. I know they have a blackout of the resume. That being a quadrant for loss. And they're only one in five in quarter ones. But their WAB is that number 38 overall wins above bubble, weighing more in the committee room.
I think Santa Clara, if the tournament started, it would be safely in. And then Indiana right now teetering whether being in or out, they caught that loss against Michigan State, spoiled an opportunity. I know they're 2 and 11 in quarter ones. They don't have any bad losses. But you look at their WAB at number 52. That's discouraging. Two games remaining. Minnesota at home. Got to win it at Ohio State. I think that is a playing game of sorts before the big 10 tournament. And obviously the curve would widen for them. Things didn't work out for them. And that means they probably have to win at least one, if not two games, a big 10 tournament. If they want to solidify their argument to go dancing. And they'll keep a point here, Pat, is this. Miami, Ohio. Everybody's talking about this team right now. I get the good feeling. Even if they lose one game, they're going to make the big dance. And that will come at the expense of an Indiana,
a Santa Clara, or an Ohio State. Whoa, so you're on team Red Hawks now. You're you're on to Miami, Ohio. You think they're getting in. Even if they lose a game, you read. You were telling me they were not going to get in if they lost. You've changed on the Red Hawks. I love it. Well, here's a bottom line, Pat. I'm information collector. And once you get stuff, whether it's from Dan Gabbitt, members of the selection committee, whoever it is, you get like a little crumbles here and there. Some pieces of puzzles, some breadcrumbs that lead you down a trail to a certain outcome. And I think I've got enough now insights and based on wins above bubble. Again, there were top 30 team in that measurement. That will probably be enough even with a single loss if they don't get the automatic birth that I think they're going to be in Dayton in a playing game. Their own backyard just, you know, minutes away from the campus here in Miami, Ohio. And you talk about this team. Everybody's talking about them.
They went viral based on Bruce Pearl's argument. They're not remotely a tournament caliber team. You know, even with one loss, he said that on the CBS broadcast this weekend, that's motivation. It piss a lot of people off. I think he had some fair points. But do you think people are going to tune in and watch whatever team they play, whether it is at Ohio State or possibly in Indiana, Santa Clara, New Mexico? I say hell, yes, they will, because people are going to go on and see Miami, Ohio tried to prove and silence the naysayers, silence the haters. You know, we'll talk about selling tickets. That place will be jam packed with Red Hawks fans in Dayton. And sign me up, man. I'm buying more and more in that belief and narrative. It's not my personal opinion. I've tried to read the minds of the committee members. And I'm leading down to trail right now that Miami, Ohio with one loss, with an in-sea tournament play in team at Dayton and I'm fully on board to watch the madness unfold.
Oh, all right. Well, I hope that they win out and I hope that they get, I don't know, maybe seven or an eight seed. Is that anything Miami, Ohio? They're doing something historic. And I want more and more people to believe in the Red Hawks. All right, finally, bread. We're the unlucky four right now on the bubble with just one week left to go in the regular season conference tournaments right around the corner. Selection Sunday, 13 days away, who is the first four out as we currently stand right now? Yeah, thank God. I have finally got a reason to pull Auburn out there right now at the top, though, with the first four out. So Auburn with 14 losses, Cal. They got a tough L over the weekend. San Diego State and Virginia Tech. All of these resumes have serious flaws, serious wards. And they just got to win, baby. How to quote the great out Davis. They look at Auburn. They finish with LSU and at Alabama. I think they got to win both those games quite frankly. And I think they got to win a game in the SEC tournament to feel
good to have their name called on Selection Sunday. Keep in mind, folks, three teams with 15 losses have earned an at large bid historically by the Selection Committee. And they have played the second toughest overall schedule of the season. I have five quarter one win. So if they can win out, get that singular win. I think they will find their way in to date in one of the playing matchups as a member of the last four. And Cal, I think at the odds are much greater and longer. Same with San Diego State and same with Virginia Tech. Pat, you know, usually at this juncture, I don't feel as confident as I normally do on the bracket big board and some of the projections that are out there. But based on, you know, look at the resumes and how the field is shaking out. I, you know, frankly, believe in there could be a couple of teams that storm out of nowhere. That's the distinct possibility and change the calculus and the mathematics. But as it stands today, I think Auburn is the only true blue contender that could vault from the first four out to the last four in.
And, you know, I laid the path and how they can do that. I don't think they're going to get there. I feel really, really good about my current projection. I might go a perfect 68 for 68, which means famous last words. Oh, I'm hoping, I hope so. All right, we'll take a quick break. Phone number to join is 310-840-4910. That's 310-840-4910. I know you've been calling it the Underwear Olympics Brad and the Combines, the Combine. But look, I mean, I'm starting for football.
I'm foaming at the mouth. I need something. Give me a little something. We got plenty to take away from my guy. Your our guy, because you're falling in love with him. Jeremiah Love, I think he had one of the biggest weekends to remember here. Didn't have much of a reason to work out at the Combine mind you. He was already bordering on a top 10 pick. We both think the Kansas State Chiefs are going to grab him number nine. I'll tell you this much, Brad. I think he's guaranteed going in the top 10 now. The Chiefs might not be able to get him. He might be gone by the time they go at number nine, because he ran a 4.36 40 yard dash, which was one of the top 10 fastest times of the entire weekend. The fastest time, by the way, was the Cedar Femissipi State. We ran a 426. Is there if you're worthy, if you remember, he broke the record, who was that two years ago. Or last year when he ran a 4.21. So I heard Rich Eisen say the guys get faster and bigger and stronger and more athletic every single year.
And that definitely seems to fit the bill. But Jeremiah Love was like, he was pissed that he didn't run in the four twos. A 436.40 yard dash for somebody with his size, his strength, his weight, his physical prowess, his running back skills. I think he's guaranteed going top 10 in the draft right now. And I'll say it again, he might be gone by the time the Kansas City Chiefs who would be dying to take him at number nine. He might be gone before they even get there. Yeah, I tend to agree with that sentiment, man. You know, first and foremost, Jeremiah Love is going to be a stud. He's a complete back legitimate three down running back and do everything. He's got great hands. That's the thing that I think is a little bit underappreciated about his overall game is how reliably he is as a pass catcher. You know, pass bro is always something that a lot of people question with any rookie running back coming to league. But guys can come in and be more than just chip blockers. They can pick that up instantaneously. I think Love is the type of back who is a quick learner who would, you know, he may actually be already a decent, you know, pass blocker.
I could really excel in that area at the next level. If you want somebody, you know, I know RBBCs are all the rage right now in the NFL, but somebody that could be like the next Sichuan Barclay type, I think he fits the bill. I mean, he has no weaknesses to a game. You know, you talk about his sub 4.40, 40 yard speed. He was a bright tackle machine, not at Lake Superior State, not at Bethune Cookman at Notre Flippin Dame. So he's done it against top level competition. You look at NFL match right database right now. The chiefs could get undercut by one team. The team that's picking in front of them. The New Orleans Saints, who right now at NFL mock drive database, all the mock drives are tracking 23%. Have Jeremiah Love going to the Florida Lee with Kansas City then, you know, go with the consolation prize, which might or may not, based on his disaster's interview, be McKay Lemon,
a wider sea variety USC. A guy that's been appointed controversy to say the least, but yeah, I mean, Love would definitely help out New Orleans. They desperately need a running back. I'm a Camara is pretty much done. I mean, he really lost a step this season, you know, before the injury. Emperly came in and ruined the entire campaign. Love could come in and be like an old school Ricky Williams type. They fame the rock can do a little bit of everything. That's what that offense needs. It's a great fit in New Orleans. Obviously, selfishly, I would love to see Jeremiah Love in Kansas City because the cheese would snap back instantaneously, and be in that Super Bowl conversation again, just with love alone. But for fantasy purposes, if he winds up in New Orleans, holy mother of God, how many touches per game is he going to get? No RBBC likely applies. It could be like a 20 to 25 touch per game guy.
And with a strong defense, the scenes were inside the top five. Any paper play defense. He is exactly what this staff needs. Love in New Orleans. Yeah, pour me a sasher. Let's make that happen. Pour you a sasher. Get me a Ben Yeti. Right? Is Jamal Williams? Once called them, you know, the Ben Yees. Get me a Ben Yeti. And let's go. Marty Grau, baby. Let's go to Marty Grau. I mean, as long as we don't end up like Shia LeBuff, who's having himself a hell of a weekend. I mean, one with that, we want to talk about just being completely mentally gone. That's Shia LeBuff. I couldn't help but notice that over the weekend. We should not give him any more attention than he has been getting. I'll just say that. Anyway, speaking of getting attention, how about Diego Pavia? He had himself quite the weekend. So, you know, again, guy that's been very arrogant, ration bold. And that's kind of what made him a great quarterback at at Vanderbilt, right? But he has turned me off, man. He's turned a lot of people off.
You know, what he did, the night of the Heisman ceremony, making a big stink, as if he actually deserved to win the award when he didn't. It was all, it was rightfully so for an Anomendoza. Diego Pavia walks in looking like a... It looked like a douche. I mean, let's be honest. That's kind of the personality he's built for himself. And he's not making things any easier on him. He said he wouldn't tone it down at the draft. He blamed the media for creating narratives about him and his performance and get this. He said that he is getting mentored right now. He is willingly soliciting the advice of probably the last person on the planet who he should be taking advice from right now. None other than Johnny football himself. Johnny Manzel is mentoring Diego Pavia. And this guy thinks that he is bolstering his chances in the NFL draft. I mean, would we put him out right now? A seventh round prospect. Maybe he gets taken in the last round. I think there's a better chance at this point that Diego Pavia has turned off enough NFL franchises that they say, screw it, we're not taking this guy at all.
He might go undrafted, Brad. And it might not be because he's five foot five cosplaying as somebody who thinks they're five foot eleven. It might be because this guy's attitude is horrible. He should be begging, begging NFL teams to give him a chance to draft him in the sixth or seventh round. And honestly, I don't know if he gets his name called at all in the entire weekend in a month and a half from now. Should we just call him Mr. Massingill? Does that imply? It seems kind of fair with the description. He just threw out there and it certainly does. I mean, he's got issues, dude. When you're seeking advice from Johnny Manzel, I know he's been through the ranger. I know he's trying to correct the wrongs that he is committed. And maybe that kind of instillment can help a mental head case like Diego Pavia. So maybe we shouldn't necessarily sell Johnny Manzel short. But still, Diego Pavia has done self-identity kind of favors whatsoever. Then only between the years, I don't think anybody's got to remotely touch him
because they feel he could be a cancer to an organization. Coming in kicking and screaming, knocking down the doors. I'll think it out. Oh, yeah, I'm the shizz. I'm the man. I'm unstoppable. I'm unbelievable. Give me the football. Make me the starter. I will bring you greatness. And all he's got to do is face plant as a result. Now, you look at the advanced data last year, playing in Vanderbilt. You know, in the old mighty SEC, he was the seven of the most accurate quarterback, corner pro football focus, and they're just a completion percentage stat. So, you know, he was really impressive. When he went in the pocket, he has that swagger. He has that sort of, you know, personality and flair in the heat of the moment. But organizations, you know, teams want to be able to galvanize around each other. They want to be able to support each other. It's not about me, me. Look at me. It's all about taking a ego at the door, coming in, doing your job, and doing it at a high level. You may be able to perform at a high level,
but because of his attitude, a lot of organizations like, we don't want this guy coming in and rubbing off on some other guys, who might be a little bit unstable. We need somebody who is a true blue leader in Diego Pavia is not that guy. Somebody might kick the tires. I agree like round seven, possibly early is round six, but more than likely as it stands right now, again, given the situation that he has created for himself as a result, he's got to fall off the draft board and not get drafted at all by any NFL team. I'm buying more and more into that belief. Diego Pavia, wait, shoot yourself with a damn foot, man. Yeah, and honestly, I mean, that's somebody that you do, I think as a collective sports fan here, we see what he's doing, and he's just easy to root against. I mean, and this is a kid that's doing 22, 23 years old, but you've made it very easy to root against you, dude. So I just, I hope he realizes that,
and a lot of these guys, they learned that lesson way too late, man. Really quickly here, how about Ruben Bane? That's a guy that is projected to go top 10 in the draft, had a monster season this past year at Miami. And, and yet, a lot of the buzz this past weekend is about his short arms. It's about his dinosaur arms. He measured 30 and seven eighth inches, which, hey, size is just a number. But also, that was the shortest for any pass rusher ever, ever at the combine. So he's got some short arms, man. Now, remember, let me ask it first, does this concern you, when we saw him have an unbelievable year for Miami, put himself on the map for a top 10 pick, but does it concern you that this was the conversation last year about somebody on the other side of the ball, will Campbell from LSU ends up going top five to the New England Patriots and for the most, most of the season looked good,
and then the playoffs rolled around, and he looked horrible. Are you concerned at all about Ruben Bane's short arms or do you think this is just another one of the stupid NFL combine headlines that just gets turned over and over because we need something to talk about? It's one of those stupid NFL combine takeaways that people are going to talk about on Ozzy and because they're just so hungry, thirsty, and dire for football. I'm giving a break. Watch the film. If anybody's out this guy, because I got T-Rex on last I check, yeah, the T-Rex had short arms, but during its life and during its era is most fear some reptile in the known universe. You know, all paleontologists, the scientists tell us that from the past, and I believe it. I saw Jurassic Park. I know. So the Ruben Bane man is a real duo holy field. He was unstoppable at times in the college football playoff.
They were double teaming Emmy, was beaten double teams, just wreaking havoc in the pocket, bringing the heat, dialing up the pressure, wrapping the quarterback up, wrapping running backs up. He's exactly a team like what Tennessee needs. And Tennessee is picking a number four overall. So Ruben Bane is slipping to the Tennessee Titans at number four. Do you think they are going to be scared of the RRRRRR? T-Rex arms? Not at all, man. They're going to say, hey, come on in. We'll feed you a few steaks. Keep those T-sharpened and just feast on quarterback pockets and quarterbacks overall. And I think Ruben Bane will do that into your one, whether with the Tennessee Titans or somebody else. Don't, don't dwell on this too much, folks. Just look past it. I'm so sick and tired of poking to prodding the stupid ass measurements of the NFL combine and how people automatically assume this guy cannot play the next level. Though we played an extraordinarily high level at the highest level of all division on college football.
Take a chill, Bill. Who'll be a-okay. I will say, just the counters play devil's advocate. Kenny Pickett's hands. Remember, Kenny Pickett's hands, big topic of discussion. Can I pick it? He hasn't really, he's a quarter, hasn't turned. Yes. Okay. And also these pass rosters, you need those long arms. Sometimes, man, to swim over those offensive lines and to swat down their arms from trying to block you and hold you. And I will say T-Rex is, yes, they, they can eat people. They could eat other animals and other dinosaurs. You can't eat people in the NFL. You, I mean, you metaphorically can, but you got to use those arms. And so there's short arms. You know, who knows? He's going up against elite left tackles and right tackles. Then it might start to become a factor. He might start getting shot out of here. So that's just, look, if he falls to 10 or the Cincinnati bingles are picking, they're probably moving on from Trey Hendrickson. I'm sure they would love to be able to slot a rookie in that the ownership doesn't have to pay for four or five years. They could jerk him around on his guaranteed money just like they did last year. And then there we go. We got another tell us all this time in Cincinnati. All right, we'll take a short break.

This is right now. Welcome back to Bad MGM tonight. Last one on sports. He's Brad Evans, I'm Pat Boyle. Before we preview the huge marquee game of the night coming up in just 15 minutes from now. And that is number two Arizona hosting number six.
I was state, Brad. What's the score right now in Duke and NC State? Because frankly, I haven't bothered to check here in the last 10 minutes. This has been one way traffic. A little bit of a bloodletting to say, you're 76 of 53 of the Dukes baby up on NC State 759 remaining here in the contest. So far in this game, Duke shooting a blistering 56.8% from the field, 43.5% for three. They've made 10 triples in this game, 16 to 21 at the charity's drive. And they got a plus six advantage on the glass. You're leading score for Duke, naturally. It's Cam Bouser. He's got 22 points and eight rebounds, three dimes as well. NC State, which started this game, White Hot from way downtown. They had to remain White Hot from way downtown to compete. Then they went ice cold. They're now just six of 22 from distance in this game. That is an uneventful 27.3%.
They've also shot themselves the foot at the charity's drive, leaving points of the floor 11 to 17 there, 37.5% overall. Again, Duke, it goes, I think I'm going to report it. This defense is stellar folks. If Duke is going to win an actual title, I know people are going to talk up Cam Bouser. I know people are going to talk up, no, don't make saws and Evans and Foster and what they can do offensively, but it's the D. That will ultimately have them prevailing in Indianapolis and cutting down the nets, a dominant performance in this game. And we still got 7.33 to go. So pretty much from start to finish, it's been Duke and North Carolina has had no answer. Yeah, hopefully we get a better game coming up here in Tucson. Number two, Arizona. Number six, Iowa State, the Wildcats right now. Seven and a half point favorites. And they are coming off of a dominant victory on Saturday. They bludgeon Kansas.
Jay Hawks made that game for about five minutes or so. And then Arizona just flipped the switch and blow him out of the building. Darren Peterson, yes, you mentioned he scored 24 points, but it was very inefficient. First, the beginning of the game, he started off two for 10. Ivan Karchankov is doing a great job locking him up. And then you had Iowa State at home in the Ains where they hadn't lost all season. And they got convincingly beat. I mean, they drove by as many as 20. They made it a little bit of a game in the last five minutes and still not losing by nine to Texas Tech without their star. JT Toppen, a walking 20 point double double machine who tore his ACL, the Red Raiders to Reno without him. And so now how does Iowa State bounce back? Because the question all year Brad has been, well, this team's amazing at home and they're a completely different team on the road. Well, now after getting beat at the first time at home, now they get to go to Tucson and try to be in an Arizona team that is once again Red Hot playing sizzling basketball. Koa Pete came back on Saturday and he was good. Brighton Berries, you said he was the game MVP.
They got town all around Delorosso off the bench, training threes and Karchankov. One of the best defenders in the country. So I think Arizona wins this game comfortably. But you think the cyclones can keep this game close and why would that be? Is it the guard plays at the senior leadership of Taiman Lipsi? Or do you think Iowa State's defense keeps a minute? And it's Marcelovich as well from outside. I mean, if there is a weakness for Arizona, it's shoot to three. You know, only about 35% of their shots have come from distance to season. And a team that's not exactly burning the nets and that capacity over the last month, they're only shooting 32.2% from downtown. So if I was steak and stand tall and stand strong in the post and that's the area of strength for this Arizona club with a walka, and Karchankov, as you mentioned, maybe they'll be able to stay competitive in this game. The biggest downside for Iowa State, and they've been decent on the road. I know they've had a couple of hiccups here and there.
I see the TCU game in particular, but they're five and four in true row games as season. And you look at the efficiency data. They're number 60 and they're just an offensive efficiency. So so poor in that capacity on the road, but they are number three on the road and it just a defensive efficiency, only given up 0.920 points per possession. So if they can really tighten up and play, that level of defense, which they have typically shown away from Ames, although we're mainly tough in this game, the other two areas that I'm concerned about with Iowa State, one free throws. They've been a terrible free throw shooting team. All season long, especially on the road, they're only shooting 66.7% in those nine away contests. It's Reiner 29th in the country and turnovers. They have been sloppy with the basketball at times on the road. They have copped it off on 18.7% of their possession. So if they could play clean basketball and take advantage of those freebies
and hit maybe at like a 70, 75% clip, at least while above the 66.7% they have had out on the road this season, they will remain competitive. So again, a lot of the advanced data points you to the direction of the Arizona Wildcats, but my God says I was state off that a milleting loss at home, a convincing fashion of Texas tech is going to turn around and at least play respectable basketball. I think they covered the seven and a half. Hmm. Okay. All right. We'll see Milan Mom Silevich might have to hit six threes tonight if that's going to be the case. That's true. Or like you said, Arizona, maybe they have a rough shooting night because they don't they're not a team that typically hits a ton of threes. And if Anthony Delorso, hey Delorso, if he's not shooting the ball well, then Arizona's offense and their three point shooting is going to have to come from somebody else. All right. Really quickly here, Brad. We got about two minutes. So you're a big believer, obviously,
and Bart Torvik and all the net ratings and the efficiency ratings in the advanced metrics for college hoops. So here are the top 10 Torvik teams since February 1. And then you tell me what the biggest surprise of the biggest revelation is. Number one, no surprise. It's the Duke Blue Devils. Number two, the Florida Gators, hottest team in the country. In my opinion, you got a ticket on them to win the title. They're making everybody a believer that they can go back to back. Number three is Michigan for your ILL Illinois, despite the rough last two weeks they're having. Purdue is five, Arizona six, Texas Tech seven, Houston eight, Cincinnati is nine, and Arkansas is 10. What's your biggest surprise out of that bunch? It's Cincinnati, man. It blows me away how they just continue to crush in advanced analytics. And the reason being is their defense has been just stifling and suffocating over that seven games span here the last month.
The number 70 in the nation affected Fugal percentage defense. The number 19 adjusted off into or defense efficiency, I should say only get of a 0.952 points per possession. They're shooting the rock extraordinarily well from outside 41.6% from way downtown over that semi-game stretch. And they get BYU at home tomorrow, where they're one and a half point favorites. Now BYU was falling out of the top 25. I know they still got AJ DeBonza, but they're really a one-man show right now. Robert Wright's game is falling off. They all switchy saunters at ACL injury. They're kind of a shell what they were earlier this season. I need the bear cats hold home court. I think they're going to win. I think they're going to cover the point to half tomorrow against BYU. And the other thing Pat, don't sleep on them at the big 12 tournament. You would talk about a bid stealer. They're on the outside looking in right now, the bubble conversation. Maybe they can play their way onto it here with a hot finish. And maybe somehow secure the auto bursts that don't sleep too hard on the Cincinnati
bear cats. I said that sober. Yeah, you have. You have. All right, brother. Enjoy that game. Enjoy Arizona. Iowa State will bid you a dune. We'll chat with you tomorrow. Audio-samego. All right.
