1:01They definitely operated the town on that defense. I think all of us are not expecting a little over something that's not the mentality that we have. So I think you're not going out there trying to win every game with playing any WWE. This is DPA TRO and Rothenburg on ESPN, New York. This is the MSG network and streaming live on YouTube. All right, here we are on the Friday. What do you got there? What is that? You're playing with. Grasza. What do you mean? What do you mean? What do I play with? What is that, like, I don't know, piece of paper or shirt that you're laying down there? Oh, it was a white out towel. Oh, okay. White out towel. We get the shot on the old camera. Hold it up for the people. Hold it up for the people. So Sunday, of course, is the white out at the home opener. Can I ask your question? Yes, sir. I said, what is that you have there? You're like, well, what do you mean? Well, I didn't have my mic on either. But how could you not know what I meant? Because I do have paper in front of me as well. So anyway, white out home opener on Sunday. Teams are going to wear white.

2:01They've got the white helmets, fans and cards to wear white. You're going to get one of these spiffy little towels. You like this white out thing? Oh, I think it looks pretty. Yeah, looks cool. Yeah, you like this, this whole thing. It's really pretty. We got the white out hat as well. Like, this is available for purchase. You go online. It's going to be available at the stadium too. So all the white out gear, lovely. You show up to the game. And you get, you're provided with that towel. You're provided with that towel. Yes. And you might need it to dry your seats too, because the weather's going to be terrible. And then there's going to be lots of white paraphernalia that you can purchase, right? Yes, which I mean, obviously, I mean, they do have a white uniform as is. So I mean, there's plenty of jet stuff that's in white anyway. But specifically, there is going to be things that say white out. Like this, this nice little spiffy out. There's a hat, there's a t-shirt. There's a hoodie as well. So all at the team stores and everything. You're going to have a white out stuff for the homeowner. It's so funny. I've gotten so many emails this week from people saying, like, this is the stupidest thing. Why? And then, well, I don't know. And then I get like, this is so great. It's going to be so exciting. It's going to be such a great look.

3:02So here's the bottom line. When you're winning, you could wear anything. Yeah. And so they won the game. Spirits are high. I think it's a nice cool look. The white, I think the white helmet looks nice. It really does. It's going to be a very white uniform. Like the white uniform, the white helmet. That's going to be a really white looking Jets team. And if you want to get, you know, raise a big proponent of this, like he and I, because we're like kind of, and you as well, like we're, you know, purists in old school, you get the uniform porn on Sunday, right? Because the packers get to wear their classic green, you know, their green uniform. What he is. He is. He is. I love those. You know what I mean? So it's going to be a nice, unfortunately, like I said, the forecast is not very promising. And you hope that it's manageable. And it doesn't mar the game. But my only concern is that with that weather, is that they, you know, they use that paint because they have to use the fields over so often between giants and jets that the paint comes right off. And so I always think of that Monday nighter where it rained a lot. Well, dude, was everywhere. What game was it? Was it the game on Sunday?

4:04Somebody slipped. Was it Breeze Hall or something? Had a carry. Then he slipped on the paint at the 50 yard line. At 10 to 3. On the Titans logo. And that was a beautiful sunny day. And they already, the jets have already posted videos of them. Like the fields have already been painted. The center of the field is white, you know, for Sunday and everything. So yeah, if it's wet, it might be a little slick. That certainly could. And Malik neighbors had a couple of slips in a perfectly dry game on Sunday night. What time do you get to the stadium on Sunday? Um, probably between, usually like, as we're on the air two hours before the game. So 11, I usually get there between 9930. 9930. Yeah, I like to avoid the crowds. Yeah, I would understand why. Because I have like, you know, it's like, I might as well be playing. I have a pre game routine. You know, I got to get in and got to get settled and do my thing and make the rounds and, you know, before we hit the air. Right. So you hit the air at 11. Correct. Then you have half time responsibility, right? Correct. Correct. And then, and then you, you guys do what a two hour post. That's two hours. Yeah. But even the game, there's no rest for the weary during the game because we're charting plays the entire game. Like so my hand does not stop moving.

5:05Like I'm, we're literally writing down every play. So you don't have a plate charter. There's no one that does it for you. No, no. And why do you both need to chart plays? Because so we're both on the same page. So we're both speaking the same language. And plus like, you know, you make notes of different things. You want to reference certain things that happened in a particular way. You know, it's just it's easy convenience. I got the highlighter. Oh, it's, it's very, it's very, it's a lot of work that goes into this. It's a very detailed day. RJ, seen it. Yeah, I'm not, I haven't been with Dan and I mean, I'm game day five, six years now. But yeah, for the years, we shared together. They're very, very detailed. It's not just putting your feet up and watching a football game for three hours and then talking about it after. No, that's why I said, I would, I would put that, that pre-imposed for football up against anything when we work together. It was, but I, I got to tell you, it just is like a neutral in this, what you were describing. Based on what we were talking about an hour one, a 13 person, now five tight ends with it, with Andrew Baku's, the quasi tight end, you ran the ball with what, 32 times last week, there's rain on Sunday.

6:07If I'm jet fin, I kind of like what you're describing. Yeah, let's, let's make this ugly. What if, if we're going to be the kind of team that, if, if I'm a jet fin, we're going to be the kind of team that we hope to be. I think we could all admit that Geno Smith is not going to be the one that, airs it like, Geno Smith throwing 41 times, probably not what we're drawing up here. No, but, but again, I think that Geno Smith has the capacity and again, that you need to put points up to do that. Like, yeah, I don't think that Geno Smith is a, he's a capable NFL quarterback and you haven't had that in a while. I would agree. I would agree. But if you're looking for an identity like what, like when you, at least me, like when I identify something that is broken or needs tinkering, what are we? What do we want to be? I can see a path where the jets are our run first team, Geno throws 28 to 32 times a game, and that's your formula. But you're going to run it 35 times. So Sunday could be one of those. You want to muck it up. You know, green bait does not have the capability to do that. You know, I don't know. I don't know. You know, green bait does not have the capability. I think to run the ball and they're running backs

7:09are hardly great. Their offensive line isn't great. Jordan love Christian Watson, Matthew golden craft. Read their bread and butter. Yeah, they can spread. And guess what? Even though, even though Brian Flora has brought the house a lot, Jordan love, even when you blitz, like he could still pick you apart. Oh, absolutely. This isn't like a rookie quarter of a huge plays against the Vikings too. Huge. And I mean, Dan, you told me yesterday, I saw you when you were with Carla during commercial. How many days of events in the screen may want a football game? A lot of days. Like 270 something. Well, they collapsed down the stretch of the season last year. Right. So this is a, I mean, we talked about what it means for the jets and how we'd be talking about them Monday, if the jets win. What are we saying if the Packers lose? Not that that's the angle we would take. Well, what do we care? No, no, that's what I'm saying. That's not the angle we would take on the air. But what would, what would, what would, what national story your thought on the Packers be? Like, maybe they're a little, maybe they're a little, they're a little dysfunctional. You talked about Matt LaFlore a little bit ago. The last time the Packers won a football game was on December 7th, 2025.

8:10I'm curious to see if you lean on this, you lean on this Packer's team. Will they fall over? I don't expect them to, but I don't know. That's the thing too. How many of those losses were you like, oh, they got this one and then they gagged on them. They had a few of those. Last week you could argue was one of those. You had a five point lead. I think it was in the fourth quarter. You go for, you kick the field. You take the points off the board and then you get, you get 22 answers to the game. I'll tell you and you look, the conversation, like we're having this conversation like, oh, can you imagine the jets 2 and 0? Guess what? In Green Bayland, they're having the same exact conversation is like, all is not wrong with the world. Like they're like, oh, we clean things up. We go beat the jets. They were horrible last year. Then Green Bay comes home on Thursday night for their home opener against the Falcons who aren't that good. Right. You can see an easy, easy, easy path to be sitting here two and one. Absolutely. That's what they're, and they should think that way. You know, they've got tradition. I mean, what is Green Bay going to the playoffs? Six times in the last seven years or whatever it is?

9:10Like, obviously they have a lot more tradition to rely on than the jets do. At least in recent years. Well, they're good, good football team. Absolutely. You got a proven quarterback, a proven co. I mean, Matt LaFlore has been in the NFC championship game how many times? You know what I mean? So like, they, they, they are a proven thing. But you're also getting them. You know, you know, the old saying, right? It's not who you play. It's when you play them. Yes. You're playing them at the best time possible. They're missing their best defensive player. One of their best offensive players. The, your home. The weather's going to be garbage, which is supposed to be a great equalizer. If it's a ground game, you have the edge in that department. Absolutely. You're really good and scripted in any better. No. I mean, this is what you were hoping for. This is what you were looking for. We went through the rest of the schedule, right? Like, if you win this game, there's no reason not sitting at five and four, which brings you what? What, I mean, well in October. I always say this. Every game you win, you've bought yourself another month of relevancy. That's how I look at it. Like baby steps. You know, like we say, we were just saying before, like, if you're four and four,

10:13you are guaranteed that the month of November is now going to mean something. Yes. You're guaranteed. Like, that's the goal. You know, you win Sunday now, basically, like, the month of October is going to mean something. Great. Fantastic. Yeah. And it is, you know, like RJ probably hears is like, you guys are pathetic. Like you want to, like, right? Because his team's always functional and relevant and playing important games in October, November, December, but not a year. No, no, I don't think that's all because I'd come out from the other perspective too. Like we talked about, like, with the Sabers, like, my fanchips spans across many different spectra. Fandom. Fandom, I think you're right. Wow. So, what did he say? I had to, that was, that was glaring, right? Fanship. Fanship to problem, yeah. Not, that's not correct. Fanship sounds like it's a ship of fans. But, but here, but that's right. It's like a cruise. Yeah. It's just a bunch of random fans. Maybe you'll have with all the rain on Sunday coming in. But here's the thing though. And I think I said this to you yesterday, Dave, is that a lot of these, like, because running the ball to a lot of people now is not sexy.

11:14But I think I think it's Bill Barnwell, Rodinard, uh, wrote an article yesterday, and he has been like, I'm about how, like, like the giants, the Jackson Dart took more than half of his snaps from under center this past week. I, like, I find it interesting where the league is going because a lot of the hot shot offensive minds, like name some for me, like McVeigh. McDaniel. Shanahan. Do we put Clint Coooby-ack in that category yet? Sure. Ben Johnson. Yes. You know what those guys love to do? Run the football. Run the ball. They love it. They love it. Like, Kyle Shanahan, if he could drop a game plan, we're going to run the ball 40 times. Yeah. We're talking about the other weapons to be able to run the football. We're talking about that the other day, like, um, when I was over the facility, remember the, um, Aaron Rogers opener, RJ, against you guys a couple of years ago on that Monday night. Yeah. Remember, like right before kickoff, we found out Christian McCaffrey's inactive for the 49ers. What happened that night? Was it Jordan Mason? Yep. Started and freaking ran all over them. Some got some coaches in Shanahan is one of the best in the league at just the, the run

12:16game and schemes and making sure guys find running lanes to be able to go out there and get chunks of yardage. But I don't think you have to worry about that with Green Bay of all of you guys. No, no. You mentioned San Francisco. Even the Rams loved it. No, Ron. And they have Kyron Williams and Blake Korum and there's so many good running teams of giants and what they did. And they established it and they're big and they're physical. Green Bay is not one of those. And that's why I think that the game plan is the same here. Like, the jet should be able to ground and pound the football on Sunday. And don't, again, don't sleep. Like when you were running down the list of guys like that the jets have an offense. Again, don't sleep on Braylon Allen. Like Braylon Allen's good enough to be a starting running back on a lot of teams. He's big. He's physical and he's a, and he's a great second running back. Green is a battering ram. And I say this all the time. I say that there is no team in the NFL in my opinion that is a better backup quarterback than the giants. I think James Winston is an elite backup quarterback. I feel the same way about Braylon Allen at backup running back for the jets. Yeah. Great backup running back. And he will be on the pregame show this week. He was one of my one on one's.

13:17Really? That you'll hear on Sunday. Salah. Oh, he's great dude. I mean, I've known him since he came into the league. He's been three years. Um, but you know, he suffered that unfortunate injury last year in the stupid Monday night game in Miami where he got that for some reason they had him returning kicks, which was I don't get that love also. Yeah. Well, I have my number one corner back in the anti-banks returning kicks. Yeah. What are we doing? Like what is this? Deon Sanders? I mean, I don't have enough in the secondary. I mean, the fact that I have to rely on Deon De Banks is a sin in its own right now. I have to worry about him returning kicks and potentially getting hurt. By the way, you know, this is funny. You just reminded me of something. You know, who came into the NFL once upon a time as a kick returner? Um, because he did it in college. But when he got to the NFL, they didn't let him do it. And then there was this outcry member like early on in his career. Like why doesn't he do it? Got by the name of Aaron Glenn. Hmm. He did that at A&M, but they didn't let him return kicks when he came into the NFL. And people were like, well, why don't they let him do it? Because while he's when he was starting quarters, exactly.

When I came in this morning, I said to RJ, like, thinking about that game, Westside. And obviously they raised the curtain on the new stadium and everything. And it's going to take some time to get used to because that stadium up there, the previous one is the only one we've known in our lifetimes. Watch what's watching the bill. Yeah, quick interjection. Why did they make the stadium so small? I didn't even realize that until RJ told me. Like I thought it was bigger. It's the smallest stadium in the NFL. Well, let's face it, a lot of these stadiums are too big. Agreed, but. MetLife Stadium is too big. Well, MetLife Stadium looks horrible. Forget about how it looks. You can't judge a book by its cover. It's too big. There's 82,000 seats there, but this is 60.

18:27Right. Well, again, because you know what? I'd rather have a full stadium than a partially empty stadium. I agree. It's a different time now. You know, it's a different world. You're also a really, really good team. You're really good team, but again, they're not just going to blow up the stadium when the team isn't good anymore. Right. I know. And you don't want to have an 80,000 seat stadium with 58,000 people in it. And the difference between the way the bills built that stadium and what MetLife is when nobody's in the sea, there's a science to it. The color of the seats in MetLife are supposed to be so when they are empty on TV, it's still kind of sort of looks from a distance like there's people in them. Right because they're like grayish and dark gray, light gray, like they, they strategically coded the seats that way. Buffalo, what are they? Red, blue, like every seat in the stadium. So like if nobody's sitting in the middle of the day, like you're going to know that there's empty seats. I think, correct. I think MetLife is the largest stadium in the NFL. Might be, but nowadays in 2026 or whatever, 82,000 is just way too many people.

19:27I agree with you. But 60 feels the same way on the other end of the spectrum. But if it's full and if it's rocking, it's going to be, it's going to be a party. If it's full and it's rocking, you're a good football team. You'd want more than 60,000 people. Well, think about it. 67. Think about it. Shae Stadium was 55 and change, I believe. City field, I think is only something like 42. Yeah, but I can get away with that. Like baseball's different. It's 80 games. This is your, I mean, when it's, you still feel it is my point. Like, remember, like those World Series games like city field was rocking. You know what I'm saying? So when it's full, you're going to get a great environment. I agree, but I don't look at 42 for a baseball stadium and say to myself, oh my God, that's small. I look at 60 for a football stadium. I think, oh my God, that's small. But you think about like the way people, even back then, like all those cookie cutter stadiums, they were all kind of like in that 50, 60,000 range. It's like, what were they thinking? Yeah, it's great. But I guess like, remember, it's over 100,000 people. I think also remember, we were in a different time where when a lot of those buildings were built, you didn't have 4K televisions.

20:28You didn't have all these amenities and the experience of watching games at home. Like back then, it was okay. Like you, you want the best experience. It was going to the game. Totally great. I actually am a proponent of not going to the games. I would prefer to sit at home and watch every game than go to a game. And again, you know what the experience is like to go into a game. Yeah. I mean, you, you know, one o'clock game, I got to, I got to leave my house at 930 and I get home at 630. That's a long day. That 100%. It's an investment. But real quick, what I was saying last night, like so watching that game and I know that it's going to take some time to get used to the new watching the bills play home games in that stadium. When I said to RJ, I was like, I don't know what it is. I can't put my finger on it. Like what I said, maybe it needs to be like winter and we need to get like bad weather games in Buffalo before it starts to feel like the bill stadium. Now watching the highlights on the TV this morning, you finally clicked. You know what that was like? No. It was like I was watching one of the international games. Like that game might as well have been played in like London or Germany or something like that.

21:31That's what it felt like to me because it was an unfamiliar look to the stadium. Yeah, I could see that. But at least you had like the passionate fan base rooting for one team and they were crazy for the bills. But I could see just the actual look was was very kind of antiseptic, right? It's just I mean, it's going to take a lot of time to get you because that say what you want about that stadium. It was a dump, whatever it was distinctive because it was the only one we knew in our lives. Watching the Buffalo bills. Time for the big blue report brought to you by King. So why so the giants don't play over the weekend. They have the standalone game on ESPN and ABC on Monday night against the Rams. Sounds like Aaron Donald's going to play in that game. We know Miles Garrett is not going to play in that game. And you just hope the giants can keep it close to have a puncture's chance late night football game. So you can ask for and look, I would be I don't know if the Giants win the game. I would be stunned if they get blown out. How impressed were you week one of the Giants? Totally. How could it not be? I mean, like it's like, you know, Giants watched the jets in the afternoon.

22:31They said, hold my beer and they went out there and dominated the Cowboys. And that's a team that's supposed to be a really good football team in Dallas. And a team that's had the upper hand against you for the last day of on you. So all the things they've owned you. You hate them. Their fan base kind of takes over your stadium at times because they've been so good and you've been so bad. You bring in a coach that you look at you like, I think this is the right guy. And you know immediately that's the right guy. That's why you brought him in. Yes. Right. That's why I brought him in. Look, Rome wasn't built in the day. We know that. But at least for one night, it all came to fruition. Right. You didn't tell me, by the way, how was the experience like going because I was because I was the, I was, we were doing our game. I'm texting him back and forth. And I said, you know, I didn't know if he was going to get a great, he had a great time, I told what was the experience like? Uh, listen, it was as loud as I've heard it in there. And I've gone through a bunch of the Giants Cowboys games. So credit to the Giants for being out and that. And I think there's something to what Dave is saying about the excitement just that the coach brings you. So, uh, it's, it's definitely the loudest. I should take that back because it's been loud ahead of Giants Cowboys games

23:35before like loud Giants fan presence. And then, you know, it dies down that it didn't die down the other night. So credit to them for that. And plus he had all day, you know, the fans who obviously were quote, unquote warming up, you know, hours before the game before they actually got a lot. I think even Harbaugh said, yeah, was like extravagant with the people and that's what you want, man. You know what I'm saying? Like that's, that's what big games they should be rivalry games, like especially a night game, the rain blew out of there. So it was a great afternoon. You go tailgate and get psyched up for the game. Like that's, that's the experience, right? That's what should be people love it. And I can't tell you how many people have told me over the years. I'm done. I don't enjoy going to the giants anymore. It's a waste of money. It's so difficult. It's late. I didn't hear that from one person, not one. Right. I mean, that's a late night game ends 11 30.

24:36By the time you get out of that parking lot, what time do you think those people got home? Did you stay till the end and Ray lives close, but did you stay till the end? Yeah, but it didn't take me that long to get on. I don't understand this, this thought like, of course he stayed till the end. It was a one score game. Nobody, nobody stays to the end. It also has to wake up at, you know, three in the morning. Yeah, but again, he's used to living on 20 minutes. A, A, I'm used to not sleeping and coming into the show and, and B, you know, once you've made that commitment, you may as well just see it through. Like what, what difference is the extra half hour going to make at that point? Dan, I was nervous in that game until they got that final first down and took the knees. I was so, you know why? Cause like giants go out, they get bludgeoned by the cowboys. I've seen it a million times. It's a script that I'm so used to. It's 40 nothing. It's whatever, you know, 41, 3, whatever, whatever. I've seen it so many times. And this was like the first time in such a long time, like, wait a minute, this, this real hope here. And we're like, we're real and we're running the ball and starts making great decisions. And the defense is doing better than I anticipated. And the closer it got to the finish line, the more anxious and, and nervous I got as that game went forward.

25:43100% because you're like, oh, I've been down this road before. Like you said, right? Like you didn't last remember that week two last year when the giants could have kind of gotten back and saved the season. They're for 500 yards. They found a way to blow that game. Now, no, no, do you look at this week's game as like kind of house money? Yes. I think you have to like, do you, do you also buy into it? Cause I'm kind of like neurotic like this when you think of it from a rooting perspective because the Rams played so bad last time, even though it was in Australia. Do you say to yourself, they're too good of a team to have two stinkers in a row? Yes. Yes. I mean, they're good. So when this game, I don't give the giants no chance. I think if they kind of play their game, they will have a chance to compete. But no, I think that the Rams are better. The Rams need this game. The Rams have, I know that they travel a lot, but they also had extended time off right. They're going to have off what 10 days. I actually, I actually think though believe it or not, like because remember the Rams were criticized for not going earlier to Australia. They made it like a business trip. It was like we're going to go a couple days before and come out and right out of the game.

26:44It might even be harder for San Francisco to get reaccomated because they spent more time out there. Definitely. You know what I'm saying? But, but fortunately they have the greatest landing spot in the history of man. Might be Dolphins. Yeah. I thought the Rams had a really, I used my surprise. I thought they had a really good, I tend to worry. We get on the plane. We're in Australia for about 28 hours from 10. Sorry, as him is dripping on. From 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM locally, we lose a football game. We get back on the plane and then we go home. And I thought they executed that really well. Well, I love this. I love the side of him. Yeah, this is an interesting story. I thought it was a hard day. Well, you, you have to look at it. I mean, people may not even know some of this. So when you get picked for international, international play, you can have a say in like who you want. From from everyone I enjoy this too. From everyone I can, I can source. They requested the Niners. They wanted to drag the Niners fans all the way to Australia, which by not going over there. And the Niners going a week early that the Niners fans endeared themselves to Australia. So they became like a pseudo-Niner home game because.

27:45Well, I, my understanding was that it was twofold. One to draw it out like that, but two, but two because nine of fans routinely take over so fine. That's no, that's right. Yeah. So they, they voluntarily like, not voluntarily, but they gave up a home game against the Niners. And to division opponents. If you could weaken a division opponent. So they made so much of this and then they, then they get the interception. They all go sleep in the end zone. I mean, I love when RJ, I think I'm hurt. Well, we talked about this when the schedule came out. That's one of the things that would annoy the hell out of me. If I was a Rams person and I'm sure they were that they have to give up a divisional home game against a good, even though there's a lot of nine or fans that go to the games and so if I get it, I still had to punt on a divisional home game in a division, which is supposed to be neck and neck all season long to go to Australia. And he just he just went off and then the other thing I think was really set

29:49them off. As I said like the most recent example of a you know a homegrown player moving on to be a free agency. Not a trader anything with you know Mitch Robinson. I don't want to see Mitch Robinson get a thousand rebound. I guess the next I'm not going to cheer him like I'll cheer him on the layup line. And then it's over. So like all that all that talk about Alonzo like I just I thought it was really bad fandom. I don't know. Now I'm going to explode. Javier Javier. Despite the fact that he has a championship ring. There's no comparison what Mitchell Robinson meant for the next versus what Pete Alonzo did for the meth. One guy was a multi time all star all time home run leader Mitchell Robinson was a backup center. I got I'm just comparing it in regards to what beloved homegrown player. They were both beloved homegrown players. And you know what? Congratulations to P. Alonzo. He's the 171st person to hit 300 home run. But what you have. I'm not for us. I'm just saying not for us. I got it.

30:50In the history of the meth which goes back to 1962. He's got the most home runs in the history. If this is the Yankees and you get you know 252 home run whatever right 300 home runs. Got the cookie home run record. I mean, I enjoyed the home runs. Javier here's the thing also. Okay. This guy and what happened the other day was a large portion was they love Alonzo and they miss Alonzo and they wish they had him and they're and they're upset that they don't and a huge huge portion of it also was we hate David Stern. And if we can we can wrap two things in one statement. We're going to do that. And I think that's what you saw. All right. So they didn't teach her anything. They just put more money in the in the met pockets. But one thing that I didn't want to say and I didn't get it stated done. And if you take the fans out of it. I'm not even a met fan. I got an email from the met about come see P. Alonzo play at city feel like they welcomed it. They sold tickets off of that man's back after they said I'm good.

31:52So for me. You put all those things together. It was more embarrassing than it was like. Yeah. We showed man is this. That was my point. And I was embarrassing. It is embarrassing. But you know what the other thing is this too. You know, if the meds. If the meds were still playing for something you would not have gotten that reaction if they gave up a game. There would have been more booze for Sanga probably. Oh, absolutely. Then shearing Alonzo. If the meds needed that win. Right. I said this all week long and I think this is true. There were so many ways to not have Alonzo come back and have this blow up in your face. If the meds were good, no one would care. Are you missing Lonzo? You love him. No one would truly care if if the guy that you replaced Alonzo with that first base Dan was really good. You'd be like, I miss Alonzo, but I have Carson Benjett first base and he's awesome. So it's a non issue. You managed to to step in it every single step of the way. No suitable replacement. The team dead and buried. Right. And then throwing the way that the schedule turned out.

32:53Right. It just so happened. Nobody knew what the time. Remember the schedule came out before Pete Alonzo signed with a new team. You got him with two weeks left in the season and you were mathematically eliminated already. Like these games are basically just ceremonial. It's like who cares? Right. The outcome doesn't even matter. And it was a to me way more showing their frustration with the current state of affairs with the meds than they were even cheering for Pete Alonzo. I will tell you this though. It is embarrassing and it makes you look small that their emails going out by tickets. I come see the return to Pete Alonzo. I got the emails. I got to say I got the same emails. It was like I can't remember who was like two two and a half weeks before the game and I even showed people I was like, wow, they even put the polar bear emoji like in the subject of the email. Good for him by the way, but but remember something. They've they're business. Yeah, they're trying to sell ticket like the people with tick. They're trying to do their job. Just like guess what? They're trying to Carlos Belchron number retirement tomorrow. They're trying to sell tickets for that. How we rose this final game.

33:53They're on. Those are moments. Those are meds moments. This is your promoting the opposition coming into the stadium. Yeah. Right. You're trying to profit all of a guy that you use that we do not want you. Remember something to do not want you. Remember something to win that same game that they gave him the the curtain call. When he came up to bat again in the extra innings, whatever, whatever is the 11th inning or whatever was and they struck him out. Bullplaced cheered because the met struck out an opposing hitter in extra innings. So it was almost like, okay, that's done. That's over with they went back to being met fans. And the next day it's another home run. Right. It's funny. And last night was a disaster, even though you know what the injury just like punctuating things. It really has felt like over the like this week. The things have just gotten away from them, meaning like they were still playing competitive ball. They were playing really well. You know what I mean? Like they were playing decently under Andy Green. This week though has just felt like for the first time to me. All right. Let's just get the season off. I agree with you.

34:54Well, it's not on Sunday. It's almost like Saturday against the Yankees was there like, all right. Let's give one more effort. Let's go out there. Sunday you got Schlittlerd and a lot of teams have gotten Schlittlerd. And he's and he's all but you gave nothing on Sunday. You got swept by the Orioles, which is a real task. Right to be able to get swept by the Orioles is impressive because they're not very good. And then you got beat up last night. What you right the first two were winnable against ball tomorrow. Like Alonzo tied it with the home run and then Wednesday. Remember not that they would have won or lost but Robert stock got scratched. Right. If you were a game boy, you know, maybe it would have been different. Had Robert stock been able to bitch. That's a state. You never thought you know, but right exactly. But think about it. You had Zavie on Curry who you might as well to put any curry out there. You would have had the same results and he was just throwing batting. Right away. Did you I was so sad. Did you see what happened with I mean, not there was a great Nick. But Michael Sweetney passed away. Yes. And as a Georgetown fan he's one of my all time favorite players. I'm not going to say anything on the air, but RJ and I had a conversation before the show that I'll tell you off the air regarding that. Okay, but it's terrible.

35:55A young man at 43 years old. Terrible. He was drafted Don Cheney. Was the coach of the next then. Oh my God. You could have probably said to me, take the next four hours. Who was the coach when they drafted Michael Sweetney. I would have never gotten to Don Cheney. Yeah. But yeah, he was he was a great college player at Georgetown. Very good. Old school big East days. He was almost almost like Charles Barkley-ish, where he's not that big, but he's just like massive presence down on the low block. But it did not translate to the NBA tractor trailer a little bit. He's passed away too. I know. Yeah. Very, very sad. Very, very sad. All right. What's not said, I'll put you in a really, really good mood. Yeah, you got to cheer me up after that, man. I know. I wanted to just mention it, but I was sad by that. It's time now for the gang green report brought to you by Super Bowl 61. And we bring in the great Rich Simeini. Rich has a feeling of covering a winning football team. I think it's a little different. I think if they win another game or two, I'm going to have to start calling the members of the 72 dolphins to get their reaction.

36:57See if you can. Not many of them left these days, Rich. No, unfortunately, but we'll try if the jet can rip off a couple of more here. Rich, the question that's been thrown out all week long was, was that more jets played really well or the Titans just stink? And my response was, well, who really cares? Right? And secondly, say what you went about the Titans and they did not look good. The jets did what they had to do. And that's what good teams do. Yeah, I mean, that wasn't a fluke win. It wasn't like they had a one out on the last second field goal. That was that was a dominating win. And probably you talked to some players afterwards. They thought they should have won, you know, 37 to 10 or three or something like that. They really should have the way they held the ball. But it was a convincing win. I think the most impressive part was the first drive. I mean, it just showed you come out. Your marched down fields were touched down. You score on a little, a little wrinkle gadget play on the end around his to be again. That just shows me that they were prepared for the game. That they were mentally into it.

37:57They physically into it. And they really took it from there. And so to me, that was that was the positive Omen right there. One touchdown on the opening drive all of last year. They're one for one so far in 2026. Rich, have you spent the week reading up on five tight end alignments and how that's going to factor in moving forward this season? And matter of fact, Dana, I have done a lot of. I know. Yeah, I mean, you knew what was happening during the game. And then afterwards we look at all the stats and it's like, wow, they used multiple tight ends a lot more than we expected it. You know, they talked about it all summer and all spring and after they drafted to be. It's like Frank Reich. Don't worry. We're going to use these guys. You know, they're all versatile. You just didn't expect them to use all at the same time. And Gido Smith said he'd never been in the game with five tight ends. And Reich actually asked one of the analytics people to do some research this week. And over the last 20 years, they could not find an example of where five tight ends were used.

38:58In the NFL on one play. So I don't know if we'll see that every week, but it is certainly an indication that this is going to be a tight end and heavy offense. Yeah, teams having five tight ends is a rarity, but playing five is certainly. Yeah, I heard of rich. What do you think of of Gino Smith? I thought it was very efficient. I thought he played well. It didn't obviously make mistakes. And that's kind of the quarterback player looking for from him. Yeah, that's the key. He said, you look through Gino's career when he's had some down years. It's been a lot of mistakes, a lot of sacks, a lot of interceptions. And there were none on Sunday. And he is accuracy rate was really high. I think it's forget about the completion percentage. His on target accuracy was really high. He only had five in completion. A couple of them were drops, a couple of them were throwaways. I think he might have had only one or two like legitimate incomplete passes in the game. And they weren't outlandish numbers in the game. You know, what he threw for two 19 or something like that.

39:59But it was effective. And this was a day that they were going to go on the ground. Frank Reich said at half time he realized that he'd been pretty conservative in his play calling, but he just felt that they have established their will in the game. And they did open it up a little bit in a second half. Let Gino throw the ball down, field a little bit. I think they're going to have to throw more this week against the Packers because I think this is going to be a higher scoring game. How much you think the weather could factor into this like when you said, you know, obviously green bake a throw the heck out of the football, higher scoring game. If the elements do play a role here, Rich, though, you would think that that ground game is something that could come in handy, given the conditions. Yeah, I mean, it's certain that'll affect the Packers more. You would think is because there's so, especially without Josh Jacobs, they're more geared to throwing the ball. Jordan Lovehead up at 380 yards last week. Watson had a big game. So it is looking like a pretty bleak forecast for the Jets Home opener here, but a couple of years ago, they had it, it came like it rained almost every Sunday, not last year, maybe the year before, but

40:59it is looking that way. And then I would say yes, that would favor more of a conservative ground attack, which would seem to favor the Jets. It would seem to and we're talking about the Jets offensive line and how really they should be one of the better units on this football team. And then you flip to Green Bay Rich and that offensive line is all banged up. There were times they looked absolutely dreadful. There were times that Jordan Lovehead no time to remotely throw the football. That's a big advantage. And I mean, you tell me should the Jets be able to take advantage of a weak Packers offensive line? Well, that's a great question, Dave, but last week was such a... I mean, Brian Flores, what he did in that game last week was something that you hardly ever see. I mean, we know he blitzes a lot. He always leads the league, but I think his numbers were in this high 70% of blitzing last week. And they created a lot of that chaos for the Packers upfront. They were 10 unblocked pressures in the game. So basically just turning guys loose at your quarterback.

42:00I mean, you shouldn't have that once or even twice in the game let alone 10 times. So I think a lot of that was just the Flores defense. I don't know what the Jets... I mean, we know Aaron Glenn likes to blitz, but I don't think he would take it to that level. So it'll be very interesting to see how the Jets try to exploit something like that. You know, Matt Lussler. He's a good offensive coach and I am sure they've been drilling it all week to try to pick up various stunts and blitzes and overloads this week. I'm sure pass protection has been priority number one for the Packers. Rich, so many are guests here on ESPN New York. Along those lines, Rich, and as you said, Glenn Blitz, I think the third most of any coordinator in the NFL last week. But you still have to be impressive with the performance of how those edge rushers played last Sunday. I mean, Bailey, McDonald and Kingsley, and I borrow a really, really good summer was very active in that game on Sunday. You know, you think about when O'Sive returns, it's going to be a good problem to have if you're Aaron Glenn, how you go about distributing playing time for all these guys.

43:04Yeah, I mean, I thought no, Wil McDonnell was probably their best edge rusher last week. I mean, he had the sack, which was a borderline safety there. And he, I mean, his pressure percentage was off the chart again. Five pressures, the only rush 17 times. So it was among the leaders in pressure. Bailey had a, you know, he was solid for his first game and, you know, I think Baray is kind of like the unsohn hero of that group. One thing though popped up yesterday on the practice report will McDonald showed up with an ankle injury, you know, yesterday he was limited in practice. So in about two or three hours from now, we'll get an update from Aaron Glenn, but that certainly raises an eyebrow. Rich, to me, he with us here ESPN, New York and MSGTV as we roll along on a, on a football Friday. Give me a couple of keys to this football game for the Jets to win it because it feels like before the season, Rich, this wasn't an overly winnable game that people thought. And now a weekend having seen the Jets and seen the Packers and the numbers, what only Packers by three like this is a game.

44:07The Jets could win. Give me a couple of keys that you look at for the just to get the win here. Well, yeah, desperation. The Packers of the Law six games that are wrote if you go back to last year. And I think four of those six have been blown leads in the fourth quarter. So I think, I think it'll be a fourth quarter game. And the Packers have been blowing these leads. I mean, this is a huge, huge issue in Green Bay. It's kind of, you know, left over from last year. And I know the fans are getting on Madler floor here like what's going on? And so that'll be this, you know, the Packers desperation. I think the Jets secondary play is going to be vital in this game. They're not going to have make up its Patrick. I think Andre Sisco will be back on the starting lineup replacing make up. And the corners really weren't tested last week against, you know, Tennessee. I mean, they did a fine job, but I think that game would want up front for the Jets, getting pressure on Cam Ward this week. I think the game is going to be one out on the perimeter, you know, just with AZ Thomas and Brandon Stevens covering, you know, Matthew Golden and Christian Watson.

45:09And that is among the faster tandems of the league. And also the guy who really could cause problems is Tucker craft the tight end, come of freshly minted, you know, gazillionaire with his new contract. And you know, he is a really good receiving tight end. So I think that is the key for the Jets just just being able to cover these guys. Now, maybe the weather helps the Jets a little bit, but to me, they're going to have to, they're going to be really tested. And I think the secondary, even before the season started was the most suspect area on the team. Yeah, D'Angelo Ponce should make his debut on Sunday. Everything looks good there, which should be a a welcome addition. And you know, when I found interesting two rits, I get something that maybe didn't cross my path during the game on Sunday. So much was made over the off season about, you know, Nishon Wright, the five interceptions last year for the bears and the Jets didn't have an interception. Nishon Wright didn't play one defensive snap last Sunday. He did not, you know, they went with AZ Thomas. You mentioned Ponce. That's a good mention there because I do think he will play. I'm not sure how he's going to get in there though. You know, that's, you know, Brownlee is, is okay.

46:11And he got a little nicked up in the game last week, but I think he's ready to play. So it'll be interesting to see how they work in Palm. I don't know if they'll do it in the slaughter on the outside, but you're right about right. You know, he came in because of those five picks last year, but he did not, I mean, clearly AZ Thomas from day one in training camp was a leader in that competition. He got all the first team reps throughout training camp. Right, missed a little bit of time, which probably set him back, but he's a backup right now. I mean, Thomas is clearly the preference at that cornerback spot. People very nervous, Rich about Jason Sanders. Now that one kick last week was an abomination, but I mean, after that, he was successful. Didn't miss anything else. Do you, do you share in that concern? Do you think he'll be fine? Yeah, I mean, it's hard. I mean, yeah, that first kick was just as bad as, I mean, I think you just tried to over cook it and just got hooked. It really badly. And, you know, it showed a lot of resilience and a lot of mental fortitude to, you know, knowing that the next kick is probably your kicking for your job.

47:14Your fear of livelihood. And he comes in and he drilled three field goals, two over 50. And so I think he probably secured a spot in this week's lineup. Now, now the Chris Banjo, the special team coordinator wouldn't confirm that yesterday, but I'd have to think. Sanders, who by the way is still on the practice squad, technically, they'll elevate him tomorrow, but I would think he would be their kicker. And we'll see. Like you said, it'll be an elements game on Sunday. So it'll be the kicker for the Packers is terrific. The rookie free and he wasn't a free agent. They drafted him. But he nailed a 50 90 on or I think last week on his first NFL kick. So if it comes down to kicking, it'll be interesting. I think he missed it an extra point later in the game as well, but yeah, he has a massive, massive leg. All right. You're forget about the Jets being a one to know. You're also want to know because you picked them to win last week. Give us your prediction for week two against the Packers. Yeah, I'm going Packers this week guys. I just think the desperation. I mean, if you look at that game last week, I mean, they had that game. I thought look,

48:15the floor made a poor decision on taking the points off the board and trying to go for it on fourth and one and then love get stuff on a QB sneak and it turned around the entire game. And it was the turning point. And they had the game in hand. And so I think that mentality will be in the green Bay locker room this week. And they feel like they should be one of them. And just the desperation of having loads six of a row going back to last year, including a playoff game. And I take the speed on the outside. I know the weather is going to be a little sloppy, but I still think Jordan love is going to be able to exploit the Jets secondary. So I think the Packers are going to be able to put up some points. So I'm taking the Packers in a close one. Close one. All right. Well, what hopefully for the Jets venue are wrong, but we appreciate the the candor rich great stuff is always we will talk to you next week.
