Hour 1 - Recapping the NFL Season Opener

Prep, prep, prep. Be ready. Like it's going to be the first drive, which ironically ended up being that tonight. But man, take care of the football. I know what kind of defense we have. I know the weapons we have on offense. Take care of the football. Put in these guys hands. Here he is made. Quick look was closed. We're running up in the air. To the end of the feed down. Job. Yes. A big terrible decision. Yes, and we had the game under control. You know, thought we had a good plan to try to start tripping away and be patient. And get lost. Patience. And you're in cost of this. 1:03I stayed up for that whole game. Yeah, I know you're sick. My body is reminding me like, you're sick. You're about to punish yourself for five months, staying up to watch these games. All right, whatever. It's fine. Coffee, rally, ready to rock. Nate's in for a sneaky Joe. Whatever's name is. I can't think straights before 7 a.m. Coffee's still going to get the ball. Yeah, it's still in the stomach. And Patriots and Zox played. I didn't think it was an ugly game or an embarrassing game or like one of those Thursday night games. I thought it was a hard fought game. And New England blew it. Drake may blew it. So good for the bills. Yes. How much Nate's here, Jeremy? Okay. Owen Parker, Joe Cali as well. I'll slow down and get my bearings here. It was a late night. How much during the game were you thinking about the division? I was a lot. Yes. I was a lot only because if New England had found a way to win that game, I think we would have come in today and said, that's one more game. The bills kind of can't lose. You would have chalked up at Seattle as a game you're kind of expecting New England to lose.

2:06And had they won it against a backup quarterback. People would have said they're lucky again, of course. And one or no, what a gone a long way. So I think it was a great night for the bills because New England was in control and give it back and lost. And the Seattle Seahawks defense looks as nasty as ever. And the Patriots offense looks like it can't get the ball down the field now because they have an injured AJ Brown. Romeo Dobbs had a terrible game. They really might miss K-Shon Pudi. And all of my bets on Ramon Dray Stevenson and every fantasy league I had have paid off. And I'm going to win all those leagues now. So I'm happy to overreact a week one with all of you. And we'll talk about it. 803-0550s our phone number. And there's the game tonight. Tonight we've got the Rams and the 49ers and dueling travel sleep plans to get to Melbourne, Australia. 3:07Two football and to a dreadful fourth quarter from Mr. Drake May. Three interceptions in the fourth quarter to basically give the game away. And give it away when they had a chance to win. Like they were still very much live. Yeah. To win that game he throws a interception in the end zone. And that's that. Sam Darnold said to be probably okay. The Seahawks said they got good news on him on a hip injury. And AJ Brown will see he left the game with an ankle injury. Yeah. And the ankle injury itself didn't look great. He did walk off the field though into the locker room after the injury. But just in terms of nightmare scenarios, if you're the NFL having the Super Bowl. Champion defending its title have their quarterback go down five plays into the game. And then the exciting maybe the biggest trade of the offseason in terms of, you know, star players moving to a team. And having AJ Brown go down the way that he did early in that second half. I just all in it just felt like a kind of a worst case scenario from an entertainment perspective.

4:08But like, you know, when it came down to a 13 to 10 football game, you're expecting, I think, there to be. Less storylines about a 23 point game in total. But it just felt like this game had so much, so many layers to it. And thinking about how the Patriots simply could not take advantage of the Seahawks shooting themselves in the foot early in this football game. Penalties all open. I mean, just penalty after penalty. And if you don't have a dramatically under thrown ball to AJ Brown in the first half, do they score a touchdown in that game? I don't, I don't know the answer to that question. But well, they have the ball thrown on time. They might score a touchdown. They, they, I mean, there's a lot in that game. The fact that they got the touchdown on the past interference is because it was a bad throw. A good throw also gets a touchdown for sure, because they had, they ran a nice flea flicker. They did. It was very delayed. And like that. It was a very long delay. Also, J.S.N. is amazing. Anyway, continue. J.S.N. is truly incredible.

5:08It's truly amazing. Yeah, I just like I five for 16 on third downs yesterday. Just it, it watching the Patriots again against a very good defense who probably was missing not their best secondary player, but their second best secondary player. And Nick M.N. Warrior turned over a number of secondary players as well. It's got like a new secondary play. A little bit. A little bit. And they don't have miles Garrett up front either. I mean, Leonard Williams is a dog. Don't get me wrong. But like they don't have that blue chip special $50 million or $40 million a year defensive lineman on that team right now. And I thought they dominated the Patriots again up front. And I thought that in terms of line of scrimmage play, it was really on both sides. The Patriots didn't have a lot of answers defensively. Just in terms of like yards per play yesterday against a backup quarterback who this job was basically not to lose the game and give, you know, drew lots of credit for not losing that football game for them and turning the ball over a bunch.

6:16And then obviously JSN makes a play that JSN is going to make once a game for you. And then you live on that. And just I was surprised to see the Patriots offense struggle the way that it did without even before AJ Brown goes out. There wasn't that I was expecting the offense to come out. And this is how I'll expect the bills to come out on Sunday attacking, which not just attacking, but saying, here's our new weapon. Good luck stopping it. And I just expected to see two of their first three plays be schemed plays to get AJ Brown involved in the game. He didn't get that scheme play until the third offensive series. And then it there just didn't seem like a real plan to feature a guy that you spent all off season fantasizing about ultimately trading for. He looked like a player and the offense look they just looked disjointed. And that's not just a Drake may issue. No, in fact, what they did, they looked like they looked like last year's bills offense when it was in trouble.

7:23Yeah. And that's not the whole year, but there were games when they were in trouble and they try to run the ball and it didn't work. Now, Stevenson ends up I think with a nice day, but if you go into what New England did on first down, they ran into a brick wall on first down again and again. And just didn't didn't care. They left their passing game with second and third and long the whole day, which is exactly what they did in the Super Bowl. Yes. Yes. And like early on early on in that game, they were getting those second and shorts because the run game started working out of the gates, but it stopped. And yeah, that was to me, I'm going to look back at this game. And maybe we won't, you know, makes, we'll make sweeping judgments from this game and it's week one. And there's tons of examples. I mean, they lost to the Raiders last year and then they went on their run. Right. So week one can be a liar a lot of times. But what I think people were expecting to see from this Patriots offense, I just don't know that we did. I can, can I tell you what my prevailing thought was after watching that game yesterday, they better hope Kyle Williams can start taking the top off defenses

8:26because I'm not totally convinced. AJ Brown is still the player that's just going to outrun like every week, be able to outrun NFL corners down the, down the field and have Drake May throw those big sweeping Russell Wilson drop in the bucket throws because that right now and work time minutes in and we haven't even really mentioned. I think what I would be imagining if I was a Patriots fan, I would be most concerned with. Drake May's arm doesn't look right. The zip, it does not look right and you can say he stinks. If you're a bills fan, you can say he's throw. He's got whatever eight turnovers in his last five football games, whatever. To me, all those things I can sweep under the rug. If he's looking like Drake May, he doesn't look like the player you saw really all of November and December when he started to pull away. I thought from Matthew Stafford as the MVP candidate last year, the real concern to me is, is he injured or does he have an issue where he does not have the same zip on his ball because that fading away interception to close that game out yesterday.

9:38You, you talked about like it was that ball supposed to be out quick. It was designed to be a quick throw. But throwing off his back foot, if you don't have zip on the ball in the NFL and you're throwing off your back foot like that, you're going to find some real trouble this season. If that doesn't, I don't know, correct itself. He hurt his shoulder in the AFC championship game. That's I'm looking through to see like what anybody said about that. And Joe Callie before this show started said in the broadcast lesson that they said he hurt his shoulder in the off season. I don't know which of the two is true either to lie. But it's obvious in the Bronco game. He suffered a shoulder injury that was thought to be not as bad as maybe it could have been. Then two weeks later he's playing in the Super Bowl. Yeah. How did he look in the Super Bowl? Terrible. Yep. Right. In this game. Yeah. The zip on the ball. I mean, this guy that can make all the throws. I mean, doesn't have Josh Allen's arm, but he can make all the throws. And if there's an injury there that they thought they could get through, well, then as it would be bad news for them.

10:38That's that's that's I mean, you play Seattle to that's another part of this like to say AJ Brown's not going to run open past defenders. That might be right. They might also be right that really no one does against Seattle. The only offense that draws anything against Seattle is the Rams. Yeah. The Rams have the keys to the car or the weather. The answers to the test. And no one else really does much against Seattle. So the good news is the bills do not play the Seahawks. They would not play them until the Super Bowl and that would be a big test for them, especially a big test if they had a role in there. With for half a game without DJ Moore, who plays really the AJ Brown role. And New England to lose to trade K-Shon Booty for nothing. I yeah. And like right now instantly looks like, oh, you probably you shouldn't have done that for nothing because I mean, if AJ Brown's heard for any significant amount of time. Anyway, 803 05 50. Yeah. This game to me. I always love a good one of these, which is what did New England do wrong? They ran the ball too much.

11:39I saw the phrase on Twitter. They were playing prevent offense, which they definitely were. Yeah. They were doing the thing that for me, when I get the most upset at the bills offense. And again, the bills offense has been great for multiple years and even with Joe Brady. But you guys you all know when we get frustrated with the bills offense, why does it usually happen? Because they're too committed to running the ball on first down because they're taking too much time because when they could probably go for the kill, they look like they're just out for a leisurely stroll. And they're running the ball. And if it's not working, it's important that they commit to running the ball. Right? Everyone in the football will tell you how important it is to establish the run and commit the run. The Patriots last night on first downs on called first down place. They had they called 14 at the time that this was treated out rather. They had 14 calls for a run play on first down. And they got two yards per play. They called past plays eight times and they got seven yards per play. Now what should you be doing on first down?

12:42Should you be calling run plays at a two to one rate when you are outgaining via the pass by nearly three to one? It's to me what I'm hoping the most is different about Joe Brady. We're not going to see the bills be the most run heavy team neutral pass script B plow James Cook in the line. If it's working, you stick with it. We get that. But there are games where it's not working. There are games where it looks like this is not your answer or there are games when you're up 10 nothing and doesn't matter how it's working. You're up 10 nothing like play with urgency and New England did not do that. I love the phrase pre event offense because they look like a team playing pre event offense last night. And for me, I mean, whatever you Mr. Nick Geary here who's in for Joe tweeted out this morning. Let me read the tweet here. Because it was like, here's the thing. You have to provide some context this morning, you know, as I'm leaving the apartment, I get a text from Joe Kelly. Hey, Jen's like, you know, good morning. Happy Thursday. What do we got going on today? And my I was like, oh, funny. Say that, Joe. You know, we've got met Vertiram. You know, he's going to talk. Oh, and Jeremy's going to spend the entire three at four hours today defending Drake May.

13:55And your tweet is we pulled the tweet. In first, Nikki Joe, and I'm stoked to watch Jeremy contort himself in defensive Drake May, who hasn't played a good football game since they ran up the score and a bad Jets team in December. I don't really have much to say about like the previous four games or whatever. I mean, again, if you heard a shoulder against the bronchers who played the Super Bowl, the injured shoulder that that now is some context. I'll simply say, let he who is without a quarterback that has thrown three interceptions in a prime time game on the road to open the season and basically lose the game for his own team, cast the first stone. The Josh Allen comparisons continue after that game. Josh Allen, New York Jets game, 2023. The year is offensive coordinator gets fired, 236, one touchdown, three picks. And they lose to Zach Wilson. So you did have you may call it defending Drake May. I'll do what I did that day. Who cares about that game? It's stupid dumb game. Don't worry about it. It won't happen again.

14:58It's not a thing to worry about. They did ultimately fire their OC as Alan through like a pick a game for a while. He had 11 picks and 10 games and they fired their offensive coordinator. And I don't think anybody is of the mind that Josh McDaniel's ever going to get fired in New England. He's no, then there are 1000 times. But I'm just I'm standing on got ahead of bad game. Got a rough game against the best defense defense in football. One of the two. Now you expect Alan to have that kind of performance against Houston. I don't. I expect him to be great. He's got a better offensive line than the Patriots. He's also this year. And like the historically he has not played. It's kind of the team that he has not really put together a good performance against the Texans since since the playoffs. Like since they they lost that when does Sean Watson was quarterback. Yes. And that's a game where he had a lateral and threw into double coverage to Pat to Marco. We was at a good game. Kind of. Yeah. It's kind of a good game. Yeah. I mean, listen, you can say what you want about Drake May. I'm sure the chat will say it's over. He's no good anymore. I would just say go ahead and have that take at your own risk. Now if his shoulder is cooked.

16:10Different story. Different conversation. Yeah. So I'm going to I'm going to put a little asterisk next to I think he'll he's probably going to be fine asterisk unless the shoulder is a problem. And then maybe not. And I also like where I am with Drake May is the sample size is growing. So if you want to be Drake May is actually not good guy. You're not there yet. But you're a cup. You're a I'm going to tell you this. You're a 17 points against a old Steelers defense next week away from what I said was going to happen last week, which is good. Is already happening on Twitter, which you can't use Twitter as a you know, sample size for everything. But the whole variable offseason is a Steelers bad game away from being the storyline for every Patriots fan with they're going to really very quickly turn their attention away from Drake May, which they are going to really go heavy in on I'm sure last night on Boston sports radio.

17:19Yeah, I'm sure this morning, but very soon if it hasn't already it's going to be about how their head coach had an offseason scandal and I whether it's right or wrong. He is going to be the center of attention if they have a slow start. And I said it last week and it's already tweets about you know my my head coach was in a rehab facility for a sex addiction instead of being a training camp like there's already like tweets like that did actually miss training camp for it. I think like some OTAs you know, get a vote. He is or something, but is that one of those sessions where the coaches are not allowed to work with the players. Probably okay. Yeah, but but I'm just saying yeah, we are I'm going to tell you this if they if they go if they lose to the Steelers, I'm going to lose to the Steelers next week. I'm going to plan a flag. I'm going to Baker Mayfield, the New England Patriots and call their season dead. I might they did lose to the Steelers last year. Uh-huh. In a game where May had five turnovers, but they had five turnovers in the show they're all May. Five turnovers they lost the Steelers last year. They did lose to the Raiders last year.

18:26They certainly in their opener they lost to the Raiders and what did they do last night? They lost to the Super Bowl champs whose defense looks crazy good. One more Bill's angle here. We'll have lots of bills angles here this morning. Happy football season. Does Jim Leonard have the Mike McDonald goods Mike McDonald has the goods. So the head coach of the Seahawks is the Kyle Shanahan wizard of defense would generally generally play the team in back to back games and that team had absolutely no idea it was coming for them again again. So the Seahawks make a lot of teams look bad. They make a lot of quarterbacks look bad and they made the Patriots offensive line look listless, terrible. They made let may look bad again. That is a nasty defensive front. They do stop the run and they pressure the quarterback with crazy pressure packages does Jim Leonard have those goods. If Jim Leonard has the goods like that, then the bills are going to win an awful awful awful lot of games.

19:31Then he won't last long because of good job. Can I tell you the thing that I'm most excited about after watching yesterday's game when I think about Jim Leonard is that's the style. What you saw yesterday that the Seahawks again, I mentioned this when we came when we started the show the Seahawks don't have the Texans defense. No, the best they had last year was was a boy Maffa who left the free. Who's free. He went to Cincinnati like. They don't rush for and drop everybody else and say we just have three or four guys that are going to beat you guys one on one more times the not. They blitz the ever living bleep out of you and they do it from the corner position. They do it from the slot. They do it in simulated looks. They do it and they do it pre and post like. And that's what Jim Leonard is going to do like that's the philosophy. So I think right now in the NFL there are two ways to do it in the NFL defensively to try to get after good quarterbacks and I for one.

20:33Am a little bit they have they've been trying to do the bills have been trying to do what the Texans did last year without any of the horses. Which is why the idea that the roster wasn't good enough the coach pays the price yes in the horses for it. So let's wish to a defense that maybe this scheme can do more of the work. So I that's what I was excited to see because what they were able to do to Drake May is a little bit of what they were able to do to him in the in the Super Bowl. It wasn't just that Drake May obviously he didn't play well in the Super Bowl. But like other than to your point other than like the Rams are like the Buccaneers in week seven who just went bananas on them. That's what they've largely done to opposing quarterbacks for for the better part of a year plus now. So I'm excited that the bills are going to deploy this and it's not going to be the same as the Seahawks defense. I'm excited there they have the same mindset right now as the as the Seattle Seahawks because again you're two best defenses in the league in the Seahawks in the Texans couldn't be fundamentally more different.

21:41And I think that's really awesome. The Seahawks last year shut out the Vikings. They held the Falcons to nine. There's not that big of a deal. They also beat the Niners 41 to six. Like who holds the Niners off offense down. I remember last year Kyle Shanahan maybe asked about the divisional round game because they lost in the they lost in the finale for the one seed. They beat them 13 to three for the one seed and then two weeks later beat them 41 to six. One's less than Kyle Shanahan's offense was unable to get into the end zone and consecutive games like that's that Seattle defense. It is incredible. And the bills have a tough test against the Texans. What'd you take away from last night's game 803 0 550 is Drake May actually bad. It was a shoulder work. AJ Brown came in with some injury concerns. I think they're pretty concerned now and Drew lock. Drew lock. Drew lock.

22:41Drew lock high level vibes guy. The vibes on Drew Locker top notch. Always been always been a top notch guy. A little I would say did we take too much out of the one time he sang that song on the sidelines. And we all were like okay. He can't he can't be a serious quarterback if he does that. 24:55think I'm going to get that this year and I don't know which team I'm going to do that with. And I'm just realizing that now such an easy. That makes me sad but this feels like a softball. Patriots. Yeah, I guess it could be the Patriots. Also, I'm going to reach out to the boss and see if we can change the overtime show name to the 15 banner show because we have 15 division. I'm going to suggest that you don't do. Okay, I'm not going to. But just how ridiculous of a name of a six rings post it is so patriots to have that be the post game show. I guess, but does anybody want to talk about how the one reception was definitely something that Dobbs should have done better on and like you have to catch the ball.

25:57But you know, get in there. He's a contested catch receiver. You know, anyway, 80 305 50 on patriots. Seahawks. You can join us. I have an old man yelling at cloud moment about the Seahawks presentation in their ceremony. So they'd cam chance load out there welcoming everybody they had Mike McCree to do the anthem on a guitar shredding pretty great. But at one point on the broadcast, they showed the stadium and they did the thing where they superimposed a graphics package that made the top of the stadium look like it said Super Bowl, Alex that they won. And it was dripping rain and I just think don't do stuff like yeah. Yeah, do we just don't have to make stuff up agreed. All right, I won't go to know I don't I'm old man yelling at cloud. I watch this. I watch these people like, why are we doing that? Yeah, you have the field decorated. There's an actual banner. Why make a graphic? You don't pretend there's a graphic on the awning. I totally agree.

27:04All right, I'm sorry. I'm so old. No, I'm so old. What you know what it's like. It's not you're not old. You know what it's like. It's like when my grandfather realized he could create himself in Bitmoji and then started texting his reactions or responses to you in his Bitmoji. That's what it reminds me. You don't have to give it. You could just say sounds good, buddy. You don't have to put the thumbs up Bitmoji. David in New York, David. Good morning. Guys, good morning. How are you? I'm great last night, which fantastic. And Jeremy to answer your question. Drake, Drake May is that bad. It's been five games in a row of this. It's just that the playoff people forget because they're one of the super bowl feels like some boss in, but this I mean this team is the 2023 dolphins. And I don't think that Drake May is honestly a whole lot better than two of us in those years. So I'll hang up in the listen, but I really don't think that this is going to go on a great place for them. Well, he's again, am I going to be the guy that's defending Drake May just by simply saying he's certainly better than two.

28:12I would agree he's better than two. I'll give you the name that I saw on Twitter that this will be this will be a popular one that might be more appropriate. Yes. Okay. CJ Stroud 2.0. That's another one guy had a good year. Look like the next guy that was going to be it. And then hasn't been. And it's still the starter and is there started this year. So if you want to take your shots and be your turns out he might not be all that good. I would say do it responsibly. Sure. He's I mean if you try to make the case that he's to a. Yeah. Yeah. What would you're saying to is because his arm is broken. Are you saying to hot take responsibly. You should you should. I think you might have to coin that whatever you want. Hot take responsibly. Whatever you want. I mean one time someone called this station after Jack Ikel had a bad game and said he was the next Jody gauge. You know, like let's let's tempering. You want to say he's not mcdavid. Great. Drake May is not Josh Allen. He is not great. He's not Jody gauge.

29:15I'll respect to Jody gauge. It was a famous call. I remember on the station. It was two of the afternoon show and Chris laughed very hard at it. Like let's just this. You know, yeah, spill your coffee. You say it's the worst day ever. It's maybe not the worst show ever. Yeah. I don't think that he's to a the 2023 dolphins. Okay. What do they do not win the division? Okay. I will say that if his arm is diminished in any way. It could absolutely go like to certainly a problem. It could go like to. Right. If you don't have an arm like to a didn't have an arm. Yes. Drake May's arm fell off. Maybe he's like to. I'm I think this can easily be talked about as a hindsight thing of them trading. I know it's easy right now to say, wow, that that seems dumb because I think all of us would say that last year their weapons were not good enough. And he was kind of their number one downfield weapon.

30:15He had a good connection with the quarterback and he was somehow on the outside looking in. It was not going to be active and they traded him. And I just am sitting here thinking in myself. And I don't know who tweet. Oh, it might have been just. God. I was Steven Ruiz tweeted this. It's like without a J Brown in this group. It is. Is it worse right now than it was last year? Last year, you had. Dobs is not dicks. No. Dobs is not dicks. Although he is paid to kind of be dicks. He had. I think he had to have a good game yesterday, especially after AJ Brown went out. And for him to look as bad as he did yesterday and not even really. Here's the thing about dobs is game to he's not a flashy type of player. He is not a for three guy. He is not a you know quick twitchy. He really relies on being very sturdy handed. And he did not look sturdy handed. He did not look like a tactician as a route runner. It he looked bad. That is about that's a bad game one.

31:27I'm making an impression here game for them. I I just think is good is I wanted the it to look immediately with AJ Brown. I do think it'll take some time to gel. To gel all of that together. But like. It should have looked better out of the gates from just a. We now have a number one receiver. So we're going to act like it. They didn't they didn't look any different. No, they came out of the came out of that. Like I mentioned what I expect the Buffalo bills to do against the Houston Texans. I hope that the and I think the Houston Texans know this and maybe they'll stop it. But I expect three of the first seven plays to be plays designed to get the ball to DJ more. Because they traded for them and then paid him a boatload of money. Yeah, get him involved. He is going to be a huge focal point of the offense. And what you do it to be getting of any season. Frankly, at the beginning of a game. I mean, you hear Brady talk about this with Randy Moss. They did it in the preseason right right. Yeah, game of all early. We want everyone to see our new toy. They just didn't. And that to me is that another head scratcher from this. And I am listen, I am all about blaming Drake May and talking about sample size and talking about how bad he's been for the better part of five straight games now. But I've also got to just throw in there that the ball.

32:53The play calling has not been good to that. Just not been good. Okay, to that. So Ryan Pagan, Eddie on Twitter. You may follow him. He's the one that exposed New England with the goal posts. He's had some good stuff. He's a former Eagles employee. And now he's on Twitter. Kind of want to say leaking out secrets of the league trends. He found a trend on the Patriots that last season when New England used 11 personnel without Mac Hollins on the field. They passed on 54 of 56 snaps. Wow. When Mac Hollins was on the field, it was different. So if Mac Hollins is off the field and they're going to throw the football. They're going to throw in the Super Bowl. That happened on four plays. Sack quick pressure dump off or lost Sack Sack. They have a tell. If they go 11 personnel without Mac Hollins, no matter where they are, it's a 96% pass. That's something that I don't know if the Patriot see that online. But like, oh, we have a tell. And against Seattle, all four times it happened. They punted on the possession because they couldn't do anything because they had a predictable play.

33:57Yeah. That's one of the things about we can get into this about. Can Kate a little bit later when things have to find a way to run more when he's on the field. Be less predictable when he's on the field. There's a million different layers to this sport, which makes it so beautiful. Yes. Agreed. Anyway, your point about getting DJ more involved. Now, in the case of the Patriots, right. What third offensive drive, AJ Brown gets the ball. That's just that is that's galaxy brain stuff. And the play he gets hurt on. This is more to the point about his maze shoulder. There's no problem. It's not just a deep ball. Agreed. He bounced a couple of passes and the play that the that AJ Brown gets hurt on. He's going to the ground to try and catch a ball that's short. That shouldn't be like. May was short on everything. Yeah. Aaron, good morning. Yeah, I hate to say it because they got a bunch of buddies to listen to the morning. I'm sure I'm going to get roasted for it, but I think May is good. I think he looks like a young Josh Allen where he gets into trouble is where he tries to do too much. And if he figures that out, it's going to be a long time to play in these New England.

35:14I don't even like I used to hate playing him. And another thing is with his feet, there's never a drive that's over. I mean, he just he gets it. He goes and gets it. And I thought he was fairly accurate, maybe not as bad as he was last year, but his receivers were just dropping way too many balls. Yeah, thanks Aaron. Here's where I would say I just I don't believe he is a young Josh Allen. Josh Allen's mistakes came from just pure our our Americans because he can thread needles that I don't know that I've seen a lot of quarterbacks be able to threat. The jet game that I've referenced a few times it was the opener with you through three picks. The same guy got him three times. Yeah, like knowing where the ball is going to go, which is we came in so like a kendoor see maybe you're predictable. Yeah, I don't think they're all arm arrogance. Some of Allen's mistakes have been careless. I'm like really.

36:15The throw that may makes to end the game is a is that not arm arrogance is that not I don't think it's bad decision. It's like Allen made and has made plenty of bad decisions. I have like barely had any problems. How many assumptions is he throwing his career? I think I've cared about two of them. I never care because he's he looks the part of rather have a guy that is amazing that makes mistakes. Then a guy that has to get by by not making mistakes. Like that's Drew Locks job. That's going to be CJ Strauss job. You sure have that guy. And if you have the monsters on defense, you have a chance. But I don't want the guy who's defining characteristic is not making a ball. I never I never want that guy. So I mean to the color Aaron. Right. I think he looks like a young Josh Allen all the time. He was elusive in the pocket. Quick pressure in his face. He put a guy down on the ground, ran, made a play and threw it away. You know, it's he has good. No. Last year he had a great year. And we'll see what his response is this year. But if you can't throw the ball because his shoulder is jacked up the met's a problem.

You know we see how that works the sports that are on your network at the coverage and Melrose was always like let's go to Barry Melrose and hear from him. And the thing I always liked about his style was he always he always talked about the team whenever he talked about the teams he'd say their full name Buffalo Sabers Montreal can 80 and so this is the thing I like I just appreciate it. You know not just oh well the Sabers and Canadians was always formal like a you know treating them like they mattered but Barry Melrose legend. Yeah legend.

He can step in and we can trade this other player we were waiting to trade in the hellbuck deal when Trocheck was still around. But all the moving shells have moved and just seems like it's possible. Oh, and I saw a lot of Sabers content creators suggesting this would be a stand in or for a similar idea. Yeah, I think it's as close to the replacement for that Trocheck replacement as you could get. He does he hasn't recently but he has killed penalties in the past. It's not his necessarily specialty. But he's a big veteran forward that can go around and hit guys and play defense. And that's I think the role they're worried about leaving. And so this is a possible. If you want to trade a guy that does that for you and get this in to replace that because you're trying to make a deal happen.
