Music Music Music Wow, make me back down, who won't know yet? Well, I remember things I don't know. Stopping at the lower path to your back. Pulling along the rear road again. Bow for good, dancing in the moonlight. I can hear the blow from calling me mine. Pulling in the road, you'll find you the tree. Pulling along the rear road again. Bow for good, dancing in the moonlight.

I can hear the blow from calling me mine. Music All right, welcome to Tuesday. It's morning show on TSN 690. It's March 10th. One week, Sean. One week from St. Patrick's Day. Oh boy, yeah, get ready. Is Melnik's annual show happening? I haven't heard. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if it is. I mean, it's his thing, right? I wonder when you do it. Because the parade slayed this year on the 22nd. You do it on the Friday, no? Before the parade? Yeah, I guess otherwise it would be this coming Friday.

Anyway, stay tuned. Sean, better get an invite. That's right. Personal invite. Otherwise, he's not going. No group invites for this guy over here. I haven't seen anything. But we still got some time to go. I like the move to have the parade on the 22nd. Because later, I guess, you have a better chance of having decent weather. Yeah. A little CCR to start us off. That's Green River. Excuse me, it's a game day for the Canadians. Take it on the... Matthew Nies in the Toronto Maple Leafs. How's it going? Good, you. Oh, yeah. Great. That's good. Grand. Is it wonderful? Yeah. Wow. Everything coming up base is on a Tuesday. You know, yesterday was just a special day. But I'm glad we ended up in the second part as I continue my little side quest of doing that.

But also, first day on my bike yesterday. Oh, wow. Got the bump. Went to pick up my kids on my bike and Dylan had her bike. We went to the park and played on the jungle gym after. It was the first time we've done that. Yeah. It's just a reminder of how much fun that is to just sort of kill an hour after daycare. And the daylight being later as it is, makes it that much easier to go do that. that very what was the splashback situation like did you get any on your like riding I mean it was quite wet wasn't that that you know it's got to be strategic in your yeah yeah yeah yeah route yeah Dylan had to go through a giant puddle and I and she I go first and she kind of follows me and I realize I've hit like mud yeah and I'm okay in the mud but I know that if she hits that mud it's gonna be a problem so I stopped I'm like Dylan stop stop stop and so she turned around and she's just like in the middle of this puddle luckily wearing her boots and she can't get going again yeah she's just I guess worried about tipping over into the puddle so I didn't go back and sort of

help her and I'm not wearing those rubber boots like she is no soldier left behind you know yeah yeah you can't leave him behind I love to do that but it was just as she was in a t-shirt for a while oh yeah he's he's now it's you know five six months of past so he's now climbing up on to the jungle gym himself oh boy doing he's going on the big kid jungle jam and you know it's not even two but yeah he's getting good at that and she's pushing him and pulling him and bringing him along it's just so much fun to watch that yeah it's just it's fascinating you know nice to have the nice weather back man oh right what I mean don't get used to it because this time this time tomorrow we're basically gonna be back in the thick and winter yeah but yeah for today only even later today it's looks like we're gonna get rain hmm freezing rain maybe there's chance I think yeah not today I think tomorrow like overnight yeah that's the last thing I read was Tuesday overnight yeah exactly and and quite a

lot of it by the sounds of it they got like an orange warning shot yes so 20 to 30 millimeters of freezing rain and they say it could last up to 24 hours and then it's gonna stay cold and stay frozen afterwards so like an ice storm is kind of coming we'll get you some more details on that as the show goes on kind of gas up if you need to I mean the price of gas is going crazy yeah I was reading yesterday I mean I don't take premium but you know for those that do two bucks coming yeah yeah so even if you filled up last week might be just top it up today or something yeah I mean a lot of people got to fill up every week yeah yeah yeah they don't they don't just fill up every every once in a while yeah I know it's tough situation you know it doesn't seem to really make that much sense and there's no break right like I don't feel you feel like we've gotten to break anywhere like from the war from from pricing just pricing you know like nothing's gone down everything goes it's just going just continues to

go one way yeah can you imagine being dumb enough to start a war in the Middle East without actually having a plan for what do you call it calls in and he's calling an excursion you spend most of the day calling in it it was an excursion we said people's lives have been lost and it's an excursion did you hear him say you enter an excursion with your kid out of bike excursion yesterday did you hear him say that these wounded soldiers with who've lost their legs are walking around with no legs there's something that he says walking around with no legs no legs on an absolute anyway uh-huh just yeah those what do they say those who don't learn from history something yeah anyway last night in the national hockey league or you know what this was this was during the day right yeah four four o'clock yesterday so the Los Angeles Kings and the Columbus Blue Jackets so why is this relevant well because the Blue Jackets are chasing down the Canadians and the Bruins and the other teams in the standings but they were

unable to overcome the Kings and here's La Ferry air now back to Doudy two and a half left and over time and now Doudy fork and air quickly in for Kepa Kepa winds up shoots and he scores Kepa Kings win goodbye good night game over so the Kings get two points we're not really following the Western Conference playoff race but yeah that's a huge win for them there they they're 26 23 and 14 so they have 26 winds and 63 games and they are one point to out of a playoff spot yeah the Seattle Kraken picked up a point yesterday so they they stay ahead of them but amazing I mean they've got 14 overtime shootout losses the Kings do and yet they're one point out of a playoff spot look at that the Seattle's on what 67 points right put it in context Boston the wild card two team in the east is nine points up on them yeah like we said about the Pacific division I don't know if it's still true yeah I think it was that if the Pacific division teams all of them were in the Eastern Conference none of them

would be in a playoff spot that's what made the John Carlson deal for an I'm attractive is the division is obviously very winnable for any well not for anybody but certainly for an another weird quirk of gold differential is that Anaheim who are a good club at home a not so good on the road but they've got a minus 10 gold differential and lead the division they've got six more wins than Anaheim then excuse me then Navagas does and Vegas has a plus four gold differential the oilers have a plus nine and they've got 31 wins on the season so weird things going on with the overtime and shootout losses and weird things going on in the Western Conference standings in general but a lot of bad teams at West time yeah cheese canox terrible in a class of their own can't even score a goal the Calgary flames real bad the black hawks real bad the blues are obviously terrible the jets are having a nightmare season yeah the predators are after I mean they're still not out of it they're only three points out of a playoff spot but you know the Kings not great the sharks a team on the rise but still yeah not a great team a lot of bad teams in the Western Conference

so what does it mean in the Eastern Conference it means the blue jackets are still in the outside looking in but two points now behind the Boston Bruins they picked up that loser point last night yeah three points from third they were three points back to the New York Islanders true in the Metro division as well but closer to Boston but yeah I mean your digital station for brand new drops fresh vines and tomorrow's bangers discover I heart new music always fresh always first string now on the free I heart radio app it's going to be like we spoke about yesterday I mean we're with kind of like chopping away teams that we're kind of paying attention to but Columbus still very much a team to pay attention to the senators taking on the connox in the late game last night bias Patterson takes a run at Pendo Gerugos down makes a play

zoom with a shot up a body here's Ripley Greg picks up the loose change and with nine 49 left of the second period Ottawa breaks the ice so Ottawa 73 points 63 games play it's a 19 games remaining for them and the blue jackets and the sends three points behind the Bruins for the final wild card spot five points back of the Canadian so if that feels like a lot and it is a lot remember how quickly teams have closed the gap I mean the Canadians have been playing good hockey yeah there's six one and three in their last ten games they pick up points almost every night and yet they have lost ground to all of the teams that are around them and namely though the Sabres and the Red Wings the Sabres on top of the division the lightning now second although they hold two games in hand on Buffalo and are two points back and the Red Wings at 79 points so the Canadians just one point behind the Red Wings and what does it look like tonight or the Red

I assume the Red Wings are playing I haven't even looked at the out of town scoreboard that even what you call it the out of town games tonight yeah there are Florida the Red Wings are so there Florida's going to be with a Martian for the foreseeable future and maybe surgery there right the senators and you know why wouldn't you shut them down if it's a question it's not as if the the panthers have anything to play for at this point as the third worst team in the eastern conference but the big one is the senators we talked about Jake Sanderson yesterday yeah and it's they're saying week to week so no Jake Sanderson tomorrow night as the senators host the Canadians that's for sure yeah beyond that you're talking about with their best defenseman and arguably their best player that's a huge huge loss for a senators team that is desperately trying to claw their way into the playoff race the Kings are back and actually they play at Boston it's seven tonight Buffalo host San Jose another seven o'clock game and Columbus like L.A. back at it they're at Tampa Bay tonight okay the Canadians face the least tonight this on the heels of the talk of

the mystery player has been named Marco Domingo for speculating about this Nick Hippereos doing so yesterday as well yeah seems like it's Matthew Nies of the Toronto Maple Leafs certainly does was maybe the guy who Kent Hughes might reveal over a beer 10 years from now fun hey it's the year 2026 we didn't need to wait till a beer 10 years from now it's it's I mean Sean you tell me Marco's your guy on on the on the show with you and I have not heard what Marco said nor have I heard what Kiprio said I've read yeah the thing posted have been made about what both of them said so what's the Matthew Nies story from your perspective just pure speculation at this point um about obviously what transpired on Friday and you know the Maple Leafs I mean the consistency there is the Maple Leafs are apparently willing to listen on everybody and then when you go to you know go to puckpedia and see the contract situations for the big players on the Toronto Maple Leafs and you'll see one outlier and that outliers Matthew Nies Austin Matthews has a full no move William

Neelander is a full no move Matthew Nies who's you know beginning his contract extension that he got from Brad tree living um can be had he can be had he doesn't have that trade protection or the no movement clause under his new contract so we tie that in and then we can bring up this other interesting tidbit that we learned last year when Carolina went to Toronto and said hey um and Toronto wanted Miko Renton and the Carolina says well we want Matthew Nies and then the rest is history they go the other way Renton goes to Dallas Stankov and goes to Carolina and here we are today so you know what you take away from that I mean I know what I do that if the speculation turns out to be factual and the Canadians did go hard after a guy like Matthew Nies who obviously would be you know a nice get no doubt but if the talk last year was Miko Renton and

who the hell is that going to be from the Montreal Canadians if if that's what that was so that's where we are in the speculation window of maybe what happened or what came close to happening on Friday I think it's worth pointing out that this is Brad trail living we're talking about here yes is a general manager in the NHL you want to be doing business with I think you know Stan Bowman Brad trail living are right there at the top of the list yeah like guys who don't appear to know what they're doing what do they have in common they're both kind of Nepo babies and well who's to say the other thing white like what is even going to have the job Connor in the summer like here's the is Brad trail living going to be the guy had a weird trade deadline in Toronto how much of that was Keith Pally telling him to take his foot off the gas and ease up a little bit here because you know maybe we're not so sure yeah or maybe he does he has maybe he does of the full confidence of ownership we really have no idea yeah but it's one of the the intriguing storylines ahead of the Canadians and the Maple Leafs tonight at seven o'clock on TSN 690

so that's that first of four games and six nights for the Canadians you know so yeah that they're going to make up some games in hand over the next six days when we gather here again on Monday morning we will be that much closer to the playoffs so the Canadians 20 games to go they'll have 16 games to go as of Monday all right oh last night Shay Gilges Alexander did a couple of different things but he was chasing down that Wil Chamberlain record 126 consecutive games with at least 20 points and he tied the record and then he and then he went off at the end of this game I happen to be watching this live last night it's just there was on the program guide I was like ooh that seems like a good matchup sure so I watch basically the second half of this game had it on in the background and then zoned in on it at the end and what an end to this game so before all of this even happens there's a little bit more context I think because Shay Gilges Alexander hits a couple of huge threes to win the game for the Thunder in the middle of this Nicole Yochich also

hits a huge three and draws he doesn't draw the foul but a foul is drawn yeah and even before that Yochich had he drew another foul by doing he did take a Lou Dorte arm to the face yeah but really played it up all out I thought it was flop city NHL player taking a high stick to the face but like to be fair big man goes down Dorte did get his arm out yeah but Yochich sells the heck out of this thing so really kind of keeps the nuggets alive and then Shay decides he's going to call ballgame then Yochich says nah not so fast and then Shay has to do it again here's what it all sounded like at the end of a classic game last night between the Thunder and the nuggets Murray hopped into some rhythm 37 seconds left and they get a two for one it's Yochich on the attack I'm a spam and the score when 31.2 this guy's hands or he just goes right away from the

double on attacks FGA stop hopped splash he is a killer man oh man what a special player 11 seconds left it's already taken it's Yochich from the outside he puts it down the back of the bow a chance for four in the time the big free throw for him he got it time out okay see one five left no fouls again there he is SGA with five SGA step back three he's got it 2.7 left okay see by three Gordon the he's no and on a night that he times will Chamberlain SGA's greatest hit star continues okay see win

yeah it was a great game and a great finish only the NBA can deliver that kind of drama at the end of a game it doesn't happen every night that's why it's notable when it does but when you get that many lead changes I think there were over 20 lead changes in that game between those two last night yeah couple of Western conference heavyweights going punch for punch and shagil just Alexander if you didn't see it you know just turn on Jay on right this morning and and check out the highlights are go over to tsn.ca and look at it but this guy's Canadian he is trending towards a second straight MVP yeah with puts him in rare fight air amongst NBA greats and he's in some ways just getting started he's already got a championship ring and I wouldn't bet against them winning another one this year that's an interesting one actually would you take the thunder or the field but yeah it was nice to watch some really really good basketball last night I mean and the crowd and just the vibe around the building listening to it down the stretch there just adds to to me the drama of of how that game played out and the biggest names in the sport arguably

certainly in that conference no doubt right stepping up with clutch moments Jamal Murray hitting a must make free free throw just yeah it was so fun so fun to be able to see that as opposed to you know the disappointment sometimes of of a game where the star power either they're not playing for for whatever reason take your pick but no I mean that had to play off game you know feel to it certainly during that second half it would be a playoffs series between those teams would be great I think the thunder though of beating the nuggets three in a row now so they they seem to have their number to some extent but the just the confidence of of SGA yeah is in those moments you know it is it taking got to have ice water running through your veins it's why you remember guys like Jordan Bryant and yeah like he is he's in that category of player where he's just unflappable yeah you think about what it takes with the clock ticking and just giant six foot ten guys all around you

waving their arms and just calmly stepping back and draining the shot so smooth yeah so cool it's just it really is incredible to watch and there were two different looks to two threes he made right I mean the first and then the the game clincher just two different ways of doing it one you know I mean so but so impossible you see the defender right I mean what are you going to do the unpredictability because he's so athletic and so gifted yeah you know you can't let him beat you but you know if he can read if he can read what what the defense gives him I mean he can he can throw something at you fast and he did last night amazing stuff so anyway that's the good news here's the bad news freezing rain is common as soon as overnight tonight we've got an orange warning for freezing rain and they say really when it's going to get crazy is Wednesday to Thursday and here in Montreal and all over the region's Monterejie out Udhue, Lannardier, Laurentians,

Park Dumont, Trumbleau, Morrissey, Drummondville, Quebec City that's a that's a big swath of land there Sean they say 20 to 30 millimeters of freezing rain lasting up to 24 hours and paralyzing some services when's day to Thursday I can't help but no I mean I know you weren't aware of this but this is fortuitous timing in a way that you are off on Thursday and Friday so you're going to be able to stay out of the fray to some extent to some extent because you don't have to you know drive to work it for in the morning yeah so that's nice yeah they say be be very careful if walking or driving non-essential travel should be avoided oh boy so what coming to work is non-essential travel is that says I what's going on here Sean get that essential work letter out you've had it buried since COVID I you know what I wish I had that frame somewhere yeah I don't think I have no freezing rains coming mix of sun and cloud today becoming cloudy this afternoon 40% chance of showers late this afternoon they say starting around like four o'clock and high of 10

so it's going to be warm again today tonight cloudy 60% chance of rain showers this evening and after midnight freezing rain beginning after midnight windy and a low of minus two windshield minus nine overnight so all of this to say yeah winter is back as of tonight so enjoy today until it starts raining and then hunker down get those errands done might be a good day to get those errands done if Sean was saying maybe get your gas and hit the grocery store you need to get some milk if your kids drink a lot of milk you I might want to go out and buy some milk I'm going to have to do that today okay kids kids especially the boy do let do let uncle do let uncle do let we're talking like 2% 1% he drinks 3.2 drinks whole milk drinks whole milk 3.8% wow yeah yeah that's good I wonder if it's part of the reason why such a big yeah yeah yeah anyway hey you excited Mike Evans of 49er excited I don't get excited Sean you know he's old I'm worried he's good

he's very he's good and they need they need help a wide 100% we've talked about before fun day in the NFL yesterday I just I worry about whether they're going to be able to count on him to stay healthy but if you're going to lose Joanne Jennings then yeah yeah it's a very nice little consolation prize so one of those oxymorons in life you know like jumbo shrimp legal tampering yeah because we're in that phase of the NFL season before I guess they are official year I think starts tomorrow I think it's tomorrow the so you're allowed to do what do what's being done you know so we saw some interesting stuff happen in the NFL in the last couple of days certainly yes Kenneth Walker's a Kansas City Chief now and yeah and it looks like Jalen Carter maybe could be on the move out of Philadelphia as well more on all of these stories as the show goes on had it to get to be 629 yeah okay what's the worst thing that could happen to you during a trip to

Mongolia well maybe not the worst but an unexpected surprise perhaps that's coming up and you got to hear it in a second then we'll dive in on the Canadians it's all coming up here in the morning good morning a fairly light drive traffic just loads a touch in from the south shore on the up ramp for mercy a bridge Lafone 10 tunnel slows at the 132 to the south shore Lafone 10 down to one lane at all times for road work it's heavy on 25 South from Sherbrook net westbound slows from lack or dare to Papino then from lackity into DiCari now until Wednesday visit farmer pre for the bonus redemption event and get more for your points offer valid in store and online I'm Debbie Marcellos from the CJA800 traffic welcome back who do the Canadians want to see in the first round of the playoffs I realize it's a little bit early to be talking about this but you know just speculating here a little bit hmm Pierre McGuire has some thoughts say he and John still went back and forth on it yesterday if it's the Habs versus the Sabers who you taking right now right now

that's why I'm telling you I was disappointed on Friday right now I don't think Buffalo is an underdog in that series doesn't mean that Montreal can't win but I don't think Buffalo is the underdog I think they're the favor Habs versus lightning wow that's a different one I still think the lightning is a favorite but I would say that Montreal's a fighting chance Habs versus Hurricanes oh I think Montreal wins it all right so McGuire thinks they beat the Hurricanes those are two weeks ago I asked you in Simon yeah pick your first round right and I think I gave you Carolina or Buffalo I think yeah right yeah um I'll tell you this nothing the Sabers did last week makes me like their chances more and as far as trading goes yeah as far as what the Sabers are doing on the ice yeah I think there still remains a question whether they're peaking too early interesting right now yeah we'll see yeah but um but right now they're the team that that I would want to avoid I look like a buzz saw yeah absolutely look like a buzz saw right now and yeah you would not you would not choose to face the hottest team in the national hockey and also let's not

you know let's not let Tampa Bay get away with this I mean they've been they've been rough and tumble a little nasty and a little dirty and cheap too I mean it's it wasn't in that crazy eight seven game we were talking about and reacting to yesterday and we were playing all the all the highlights and the scraps of pre post post game all this stuff I mean Tampa Bay had a large hand and stirring that pot in that game too right so there are no wall flowers by any stretch now nobody's suggesting that they are I don't think yeah I you know what what the what this what the lighting have that the that these other teams don't have especially the Sabers you know what I'm going to say for sure they've been there they've done that they have it matters it matters and they're not chasing down a division title I'm sure they'd love to win the division yeah but they're they're not worried about that in Tampa these guys are trying to win a Stanley Cup and they've got Nikita kutra exactly to me it's Vasiliski and kutra within the experience those three pillars are huge huge advantage for them quiet day for the Canadians on Friday at the deadline this is Michael Farber and now it's turning into something beyond wow they made the playoffs last year that's a

fluke this year it's expected and looking at the odds yeah you think they would make it again this year but it gets more difficult now because the decisions have greater import because you see where the team is trending and you don't want to make a mistake so while it would have been nice to have seen that light shot D as we discussed and clearly we're trying to do something I have no idea what it's a secret and it's a rumor and as redfishers said we don't deal in rumors there's Michael Farber veteran reporter and writer on the Canadians what about Ken Hughes and his approach to both his relations with other teams and the fans in media but you didn't know if there was something in the queue at that point waiting to be finalized or you just ran out of time

and maybe revisit in the summer so he has been nothing but an honest broker as far as I know so we're going to take him as his word it leads to all kinds of speculation of course was it a goalie was it a forward was it a defenseman there has been a lot of speculation but a lot of that ultimately crystallized into Matthew Nyes of the Toronto Maple Leafs being the mystery player involved why the Toronto Maple Leafs would do that is a bit of a noodle scratcher given what they've got there but he's one of the only guys who doesn't have that no trade protection he also is a guy whose age and contract fits very well into the structure that the Canadians have internally anyway but also I mean does it not kind of remind you a little bit of the dialogue I mean not to the production level of Robert Thomas and St. Louis but

we're talking about a 23 year old on a team that is trying to now I guess reidentify itself and rebuild itself in a different way that I understand he doesn't play center and you're probably going to see him on the top line next to Austin Matthews tonight at the bell center but this is a player you would think would be a part of you know your growth spurred again depending on what you do this summer but it's hard to understand though the what teams do in this situation I know some different teams different approaches you know I mean I remember when the black ox traded away Kirby dock and I realized it's a little bit different but it was a third overall pick right you're entering into a rebuild are you not looking to keep more guys like this but I think the case of dock maybe is a little bit of a unique one but all of this to say when teams do enter into rebuild or retool mode yeah all bets are kind of off when it comes to who stays and who goes it really depends on the team depends on the manager let's move on and get into the Canadians goal tending situation

another thing that Michael Farber spoke about during his media and his interview on Mitch Melnik show yesterday I'm sure they've checked his eyes seems to have trouble tracking long shots I'd be shocked if they haven't at some point and yet pucks in close he made some spectacular say and and it's not something that's sustainable and you know they have to sort this out they've got to sort it out yeah does tell my buddy the other day it was like watching monitor book give up those long bombs on friday night I was like reminded me of them one of my favorite childhood movies of the wild thing in major league you know couldn't find the strikes until he got those ridiculous thick framed glasses and I was like this is a wild thing here somebody get this guy and I doctor ASAP I wonder I mean is it is it crazy to wonder if that can't be Connor can't be it's got to be something like I don't think he's got the yips but I mean what else you know it's a pretty big sample

size for sure I bet here's Aaron Ward you go on the road in the first thing you go on the road and the first thing you think about is to to be effective and win on the road you got to be smart about your defensive play and once you start exceeding three goals against you're pretty much screwed on on the result and they had to go out and out score the opponent and that's not going to fare well going down the stretch because most teams are starting to tighten things up and you're not going to get those opportunities you're not going to get slapped coming in and kind of save him the day he had kind of that that self self motivated catalyst kind of game where he got his team and and he played with his physicality and maybe he was motivated by the the opportunities in the power playing playing and with some guys are familiar to him to getting back to his game but overall they're they're going to be in an inferior position for the rest of this stretch run up they're going to give up that many goals I mean Dolvish made some decent saves but we you can't rely on the goal tending the Montreal currently has in this state to to feel as though you're confident they're going to steal games for you it's going to be collective effort across

the board yeah but the other question of course is when does Jacob Fowler reenter the conversation we saw Fowler early on I presume we'll see him again before the end of the season I would certainly want him in my goal tend to rotation right now I'm Luke Wilson join me each week for film never lies since retirement from the NFL I've had a lot of my mind now got my own show so if you're tired of lazy takes if you want honest conversations join us each week film never lies available on all TSN platforms in the iHeart radio app yeah I don't know about right now but you know we talked about this yesterday if the Canadians look it's a playoff started tonight yeah I would want him as I mean arguably my starting goalie definitely as my backup plan if things go south for Dolvish in a hurry but San

Montembo is not getting a look at the net if the playoffs started tonight I agree you know I agree he gets I get and it's a bit of a weird one right I mean we know we now know that and I don't think it's a fluke that we know that Dolvish is starting and we knew that Dolvish was starting this game here tonight it's unusual right Marta Saint Louis has not named a starter days in advance for a while yeah and I and I think the reason why is they they want Montembo to get it going if he if you know if he had won if he had played well if he had played as well as Dolvish did and they had won on Friday night I expect there's a chance he's the one who would have gotten the net for this game here tonight but he just they they couldn't give it to him weird part is the tougher of the two games is tomorrow night that's why against the Ottawa senators I honestly Connor I was I was surprised I was surprised um I really I just think you can't he can't say he can't name Montembo the starter I guess one thing he could have done is not name a

starter yeah sure but they chose not to obviously yeah but I think but no I mean logically right I mean if we you know if we'd mapped it out I I think you and I both would have landed with the same assignment that it would have been a Monty game tonight in a Dolvish game against the tougher more let's pull let's call it's a more important game on Wednesday night second half of back to back the game a team that is chasing down on the standings yeah yeah um but two points is two points and if I don't really care if they're only going to get two points in one of these games I guess you'd rather it was against the sends but I take two points either way um let's keep it moving and we'll have more on the gold tennis situation looking forward to hear what marked marked an he has to say about it when he joins us later on today one more from Aaron Ward on the Canadians and uh we saw it on this California trip but when things start to go sideways I'm out of some adoption sort of though um beyond that when you're starting to look at it

Kerry as an exactly been you know a world beater of be supposed to be in more of a defensive defenseman okay well that happens but as a collective group I always remember when I feel most comfortable when I was scrambling when people were talking and it's and it just even gave a sense in an air that we're all in the same page the stress wasn't their mistakes didn't happen I always feel like Montreal like if there's a battle off the side of the net someone's got to take the body someone's got to look around but it's just a complete scramble in this disorder and they don't sort it out very well they don't sort it out very well there's a weird situation with those bottom three D's man like it is I don't know who's you know there's there I don't think it's any one particular person's fault I don't think it's a result that necessarily of mismanagement by Marta Saint-Louis although there probably it's been room for improvement with the way that they've done this from Carrier's perspective the inconsistency of who he's playing

with yeah is is tough it's tough for a guy to be consistent when he does not have a consistent partner that he's playing with 100% strewell and jack guy's perspective when you are on such a short leash how tough is it to play how much of that is just down to them ultimately though not being able to take the job and run with it and then we saw it the Canadians they went back to Slavkovsky on the top line last week now it's back to Gullian Hudson and Matheson and Dobson playing together well some some had to give there because Gullian Matheson has been a disaster it's been bad full at the whether it's the I test whether it's the analytical test it's just been bad jack I shrew will don't play late in the game end of the day Carrier is playing up and down the lineup and the Hudson Dobson has has been electrifying it's been a fantastic tandem for this team but it's not it's not good enough no you know when you talk about your ice ofkovsky it was just looking since when the Canadians came back from the Olympic break starting Feb 26th

Nick Suzuki is nine points coffee it's got seven Slav has seven points I mean this is I don't always spoke about it a little bit with arpin basu yesterday eight thirty five I mean what an absolute dominating trio this this has from last year and then reunited again late in season how dominant the three of them are when they're together yeah and as Matheson goes and as minus three rating on Saturday night in LA and minus four on the road trip so maybe that was the straw that broke the camels back for that pair but yeah I wasn't working there's no question about that level a little bit more on that did during the press review before we move on just very quickly on the national football league since free agency is underway a couple of clips from Eric at home who joined Melnik in the afternoon yesterday said this about Jalen Carter prize to defensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles who is now this future with the team is potentially in doubt you know the the priority as far as I'm concerned in terms of talent Carter's the better player is he

reliable enough for that I mean he started last year like gangbusters kind of leveled off didn't take that same leap everybody had hopes but you know again well if there is some activity there you know that the Eagles are are I don't know if the right word is unemotional about it but you know they they really do have a willingness to trade players and and picks and assets like no other team so you know from that standpoint maybe it isn't all that shock maybe but there obviously there's a consistency from that player that they just don't feel that they're getting but it is shocking given what he's sealing is how good his best is but when you're not getting it on a consistent basis here a kind of a ruthless group like the Eagles are yep maybe you move off before the players value goes down any further the chiefs brought in Kenneth Walker Super Bowl MVP that's a big ad does this mean what does it mean for their offseason and the draft plants yeah very much

so that that latter question I mean Jeremiah love with the kind of player who had they not made a big play in in for agency at the running back spot you know had they gone into the drafts with the Isaiah Pateco hunt combination back there that that would be a move I could sign off on but now having paid Walker and we'll see what the real money is but he's getting twenty seven million dollars guaranteed that's pretty good for running back and it's good to see the running back salaries rise again and I think you know Walker's helped kind of given the position a little bit of visibility I would say and I'm going to be interesting to see what the chiefs look like this year yeah nice weapon now for my homes when he gets back whenever that timeline is for him when he comes back from his from his from his injury and what Travis Kelsey back for another year a little bit less pumped about that no doubt but yeah going to be it's going to be an interesting year for Kansas cities they kind of like retool and reset and kind of see where see where they kind of stand

after last year's disappointing season while and you know one thing is they're going to be coming into a season with the lowest expectations that they've had in roughly a decade and an easier schedule than they're accustomed to playing as well those are two things that could work in their favor this year most the other Malik Willis I one of those they you have a moment in the sun you catch fire off an injury play place but you know a few good games in a year now and then boom you look at the look at the team though like that did that I know I thought the same and to a 2.0 coming up well I don't know about that but yeah it's just he's just I just don't think he's that good exactly but yes at least he doesn't have like a scary concussion history I guess we'll be back in just a few moments when we return how to Korean officials lose over five million dollars worth of cryptocurrency in the most embarrassing way possible that story's coming up next we have a stall in north found to carry add parades on the right hand shoulder they've cleared the incident on highway 20 westbound adverse avenue but traffic slows from on Green Hill met westbound is heavy from

lack or dare to de carry eastbound trance Canada slows at Coat de Lies and a tough go in from the south shore already for Shamp Lane Bridge it backs up at the tracks did you know that the Mazda three is one of the few in its class to offer all-wheel drive visit your dealer and get more with Mazda I'm Debbie Marcellos from the CJA D800 track yeah why not just another day in South Korea their national tax service seized crypto assets during a recent enforcement action against a bunch of high-value tax evaders they confiscated crypto holdings worth about over 8 billion one which is over it's about 5.6 million dollars US and they wanted people to know about this seizure that they did right so they issued a press release to showcase the efforts in recovering the delinquent taxes hey look at us look what we did and they included photographs of ledger hardware wallets that have been taken into custody I knew it along with handwritten notes that displayed the wallet

seed phrases now if you're into cryptocurrency you may understand what all of this stuff is I'd say there's a pretty good chance that you don't and I'm not about to go in and try to explain it all of this to say that if you have this information and you know how to use it you can steal that money and it's not even really stealing not only that they can't trace correct it either it'd be like someone putting a picture of your credit card number and then also putting the three digit number on the back of your card online sort of and you can take that information and do stuff with it or holding a bunch of money in your hands out and showing me like look at this look at all the money we recovered and then people are just like well I'm just gonna grab some of that because the high resolution photos these were not these they didn't blur it they didn't do anything they posted high resolution photos that clearly showed the mnemonic recovery phrases which is the that's the master key that is used to access the wallets so there's no protection provided by the offline cold storage and all of this means that when you have those seed phrases you've got complete control

anyone who knows the phrase can import it into software or another hardware wallet and initiate transfers without the original device that's exactly what happened you think it just got it just disappeared I wonder you know who ended up the beneficiary of this but I suspect they're not going to be able to figure it out either and you know just crazy stuff man Bitcoin anyway it wasn't me that this is above my pay grade I got into that crypto world like maybe 70 years ago I was just like dude I can't handle this yeah way too stressful for me and I got out and it's too bad because if I hadn't I would have made a lot of money but I will say it doesn't keep me up at night I'm wondering what might have been you know what's the sense in doing that you've only got one life I will be back in a few moments when we returned the Leafs are in town tonight hey did the Leafs have a plan Brad trail living says they have a plan but do they actually have a plan more on that during the press review next on the morning I'm Luke Wilson join me each week for film never
