Right?
Push Play and hear for yourself.
This week, DJ caught up with the John and Steve after a busy stretch and shared highlights from his latest CEDIA trip, including the standout demo rooms, the best image he saw all week, and why the show is always more fun when you get to experience it through someone else’s eyes for the first time. They also wrapped up their World War II movie run with a deep discussion of Downfall, a German-language look at Hitler’s final days that we found gripping, disturbing, and incredibly effective both as filmmaking and as a home theater experience. From Bruno Ganz’s unforgettable performance to the oppressive bass and bunker atmosphere, this was one of those movies that stays with you long after the credits roll.
From there, the guys shifted gears into pure home theater fun with The Mandalorian and Grogu, which impressed all of us with its massive IMAX-enhanced presentation, excellent Atmos mix, and some genuinely jaw-dropping visuals at home. They also talked about seeing Terminator 2: Judgment Day back in a theater for its anniversary, revisited catalog titles like Falling Down and 30 Days of Night on 4K, and DJ shared his first hands-on experience with the Apple Vision Pro. They closed by looking ahead to our next movie season, our buildup to Doomsday, and another big Movember marathon on the horizon.
