High School Stars Reunite in NCAA Tournament

Guards Raven Johnson and Tania Latson are finally teaming up on this stage after a stand-out season, with Latson averaging over 14 points per fair. Game and Johnson stepping up as a leader at about 10 points per game. The pair dominated high school together at Westlake and Atlanta, winning three straight state titles. But they parted ways for college, because Latson was a year younger and got recruited separately. Johnson joins South Carolina in 2021, while Latson moved to Florida for her senior year, earned Gatorade player of the year honors, there, and signed with Florida State. At Florida State over three years, Latson put up more than 22 points per game on average, but only won one tournament match-up. Meanwhile, she and Johnson stay close, chatting weekly about their teams to keep their bonds strong. Last spring, Latson hit the transfer portal, and Johnson urged her to come to South Carolina.
