Oh, what a beautiful morning, oh, what a beautiful day. Hi, it's Tuesday, March 31st. On this date in 1943, Rodgers and Hammersteins, Oklahoma premiered on Broadway. Now, for those of you who aren't musical theater enthusiasts, Rodgers and Hammersteins are considered the godfathers of the musical, because they're given credit for having created the integrated musical, where the songs, the dances, the lyrics, further the plot along, and give more depth, dimension, and progression to the characters. Scenics of musical theaters say, oh, it's so stupid. People all of a sudden break into song. They all of a sudden dance for no good reason. Well, in the integrated musical, people sing, because the words they have to say simply can't be spoken.

The stakes are too high. They have to sing them. That's what I want for you today. I want the stakes to be so high that you can't merely speak words. You must sing them. I understand that, because for me, it's all or nothing. Is it all or nothing for you?
