About this episode
In Hebrews Chapter 12, our teacher, John Mathews, uncovers the
purpose behind life’s challenges. As athletes discipline their bodies
to win a race, God disciplines us for a greater purpose. This divine
training is not punishment but preparation. God treats us as his
children, refining our character and guiding us toward a peaceful
life of righteousness. Difficulties are a part of God’s “discipline
by design,” intended to strengthen us in our spiritual journey. By
focusing on Jesus, enduring trials and embracing God’s discipline,
we’re promised a kingdom that cannot be shaken and a future of
eternal peace.
