sarah marie anderson's podcast — Hebrew word of today (Chayal boded). Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
Hey, this is Strawberry, how y'all feeling out there today? I hope everybody is doing well and not doing well. Let's find a way to get well, look well, and be well. Well, we got a Hebrew word for today. So let's hear what it is and see what it means. Our Hebrew word of the day in honor of the many young individuals who come to Israel on their own and still serve bravely in the idea. The day's words are Chayal Bauded, meaning alone soldier. Now, a soldier or a Chayal isn't considered Bauded or alone, unless he or she is quite literally alone in the country. That includes every ole Chadash or Chadashah or new immigrant that arrives without immediate family. And that also includes every individual Israeli citizen who had to leave their home for one reason or another, giving up their support system in the process. And that means that every Chayal Bauded or lone soldier who ever served in the Israeli defense forces also did so with the added stresses and responsibilities of an adult living alone and in a foreign country.
So believe me when I say it's really hard. And consider contributing to one of the many organizations that support our Chayal in both the theme or lone soldiers. Organizations like the Friends of the IDF, Yachad and the lone soldier center of Tel Aviv. This meaning the perfect example of something or bombast for overly impressive language happened featured recently. Would you like me to keep looking for today's word? Chay is a fresh canvas. And you're the artist holding the brush. Sometimes the most beautiful masterpieces come from the boldest strokes. So don't be afraid to paint outside the lines today. Not taking any risk. In a world that's changing really quickly, the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks.
