Their quick analysis looked at forecasts from March 18 through 22nd, using weather data and climate models. They determined the warming world has made these heatwaves four times more likely in the past decade. The heat dome has smashed records in 140 cities stretching from California to Missouri, triggering extreme heat warnings in California, Nevada, and Arizona. Impacts are hitting hard with ski resorts around Tahoe and California, shutting down or scaling back amid fast no melt, straining local economies.
