Heating Oil Prices Soar in Northern Ireland

That tops the previous high of 59% back in March 2022, right after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. About two-thirds of households there depend on heating oil to stay warm, and lower income families are set to get a 100-pound grant later this year to ease the blow. This peaked on April 8th at 627 lbs for 500 liters, but they've eased back to around 530 lbs. Lately, meanwhile, Petro and Diesel costs kept falling last week, with Diesel averaging 178.5 pence per liter down from 1, 183.8 and Petro at 150.4 pence from 152.1. As these trends play out, folks are watching closely for any relief at the pump and boiler.
