Headlines: Australia escapes new tariffs

Today's headlines:

The U.S. has announced a new round of tariffs for several countries, but has kept Australia’s at the baseline rate of 10%, which has been in place since earlier this year.

The Northern Territory Government has passed a raft of legislative amendments to the state’s Youth Justice Act, ditching the previous government’s “detention as a last resort” policy.

Mollie O’Callaghan has now equalled Ian Thorpe for the most world championship gold medals won by an Australian.

And today’s good news: The world’s “oldest baby” has been born in the U.S. thanks to an embryo that has been in storage since 1994.
