Harrison Ford Inspires ASU Grads, Receives Honorary Degree

The event takes place on May 11th at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe. The 83-year-old actor will also receive an honorary doctor of arts and humane letters degree during the ceremony. ASU chose Ford not just for his iconic roles in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Blade Runner. They highlighted his longtime environmental advocacy. He serves as vice chair of Conservation International and recently attended the launch of the University's Rob Walton School of Conservation Futures. University President Michael Crowe called Ford, one of the world's top conservation voices, for himself stressed the need for graduates to focus on their futures and protecting nature. He noted, we're at a critical point after years of neglecting the environment. Ford dropped out of Repon College in Wisconsin just shy of graduation more than 60 years ago.
