Harris Home Trespass Alert | San Jose News
About this episode
A trespasser was spotted on Kamala Harris’s Malibu property late Friday night, but security swiftly intercepted them before they reached the house — and Harris and her husband weren’t even home. While the incident caused no harm, it’s a sobering reminder that even top-tier security can’t prevent all risks. The sheriff’s office is ramping up patrols, and this event underscores a broader issue: Harris’s protection was recently revoked by Trump after Biden had extended it — highlighting how political shifts can impact personal safety measures.

It's September 14th. Welcome in. This is San Jose News Today, where local news meets AI. I'm Cory with the story. So word on the street is, there was a trespasser at Kamala Harris's place in Malibu. Deputies rolled up late Friday night, around 10.30 pm, after her security team flagged the suspicious individual. The person was told to bounce and they did. No drama. Now, the important thing to know here is that Harris and her husband, Doug M. Hoff, weren't even home when this went down. Her spokesperson confirmed that the individual got on to the property, but was stopped by security before they could get to the actual house. This kind of thing can be unsettling, for sure. It's a reminder that even with private security, these situations can pop up. The Sheriff's Department did take a report, and they're planning to beef up patrols around there, just to be safe. It's also worth mentioning the security detail situation. Generally, former VPs get protection for about six months after they leave office, but former presidents get it for life.
President Biden had extended Harris's protection, but that extension was actually revoked by President Trump last August. So, while the situation was handled and everyone's safe, it's a bit of a wake-up call. The authorities are on it, increasing patrols, and hopefully, this kind of incident stays an isolated event.
