from San Francisco, California. This is the Rock and Roll Geek Show. This is the story of my Rock and Roll butler. Welcome to the Rock and Roll Geek Show. My name's Michael Butler. Thanks a lot for joining me. I really appreciate it. Today is Tuesday March 31st, 2026. It's 1119 AM when I'm recording this. This is a final update on the Handsome Dick Manitoba Midwest tour. We played on Sunday night at a place in Newport, Kentucky, which is right on the border of Cincinnati and or of Ohio and Kentucky. Across the bridge is Cincinnati. If you listen to the last update, you know, you already know that. We were crossing the bridge from Newport to Cincinnati. For some reason we had to go into Cincinnati then back into Newport to get to the hotel. Anyway, I'm back in an undisclosed
location in upstate New York right now. I spent yesterday traveling and drinking at the lounge and on the plane and got back to this undisclosed location around 730 and had some beers and popcorn and relax. And now I'm back. Here in the in the undisclosed location, rambling and not knowing what I'm going to say. The last gig at Southgate Revival House was well attended. It was melt. I'm going to guess there may be about a hundred people there. Friend of the show Joey Booth showed up. I got an email from from Dave Holt. Let me see if I can find that thing here. Anyway, the gig went well. I thought we played pretty good. The place is kind of big and it's kind of echoey. But I thought it went it went over pretty well. The audience seemed to like it. And after the gig, the sale man comes up to me. There was this one thing I did in in the song Master
Race Rock. There's the middle part goes, let's go. And I sometimes I get out of hand and I took the microphone out of the mic stand and you know let the and put it out in the audience and held it out for for the audience to sing. Let's go. Let's go. And then the last part, I just kind of let go of the microphone and let the audience take it. And then I then I can because I got to go on the bass. And I did that. And there was also a part and next big thing where you can look at this on the Instagram and then in the Facebook or I just a fool walking down. And during the day, I would bang the bass onto the mic stand. And this time the microphone like slid down and then I took the then the second part of the, the chaos part. I kind of slid the microphone onto the bass, you know, trying just trying to be entertaining and look a little bit whatever punk rock posters, whatever. And then I just took the microphone and it dropped it out of my hand and
I guess it fell on the stage. And then after the set, the sale man comes, hey asshole, next time bring your own microphone if you're going to destroy my shit. And I said man, I'm sorry about that. I really didn't mean to hurt anything. I don't think I'd damage the mic. But how much how much how much are you here? Let me give you a hundred dollars for the microphone. And he's like, just be in ability. He just went on and I said, no, I insist. Please take them, take the hundred dollars. So he took the hundred dollars. And then I told um, fabulous merch girl Brigitte about the situation. She went through the roof. She went to the sale man and he goes, hey, we paid for that microphone. I want that microphone. And he, I hope this doesn't affect the, I was getting back into the Southgate revival house. The nice people, it was good venue. The sale man just pissed off at me. So she tells him, hey, we want the microphone back. And we want, we want the microphone. Since we paid you a hundred dollars, we want that microphone. And he, he just, and he took, he said, no, no, no. And then he
finally, he took the hundred dollar bill and threw it at Brigitte and said, fuck you. And believe me, you do not want to say fuck you to merch girl Brigitte because she will get on your ass. So they had words. And then she had words with somebody on the, on the, in our entourage and they had words. And it became a big fucking ordeal, which if I didn't know, it was going to be a big ordeal like that. I wouldn't have, I would just stood there like a dumbass on stage and implore, or I would just done my normal thing. But sometimes I get, sometimes I get a little bit carried away trying to go the extra mile to entertain the people in their standing in the front. So that, so that was a little bit of drama. Other than that, the entire tour was just so much fun. The guys in the strains were just fucking great people. And they're a great band too. If the strain, they're, they're going to Europe with Frank Meyer
and at the end of April, those guys are going to kill it. If they come to your town, go see him. They're really good band and really great people. Everybody in the band. So the tour ended up being a success other than my stupid drama that I created. And I want to apologize to everybody in the, in the whole touring group for me being, for me causing that drama was unnecessary. And you know, it's a SNS in 58. Those things, those things are built to be indestructible. And I, I should have brought my own microphone. I actually forgot it. I usually use my own microphone. I would have done the same thing if it was my microphone. I mean, look at my bass. I mean, things get broken. That's, that's, that's danger in rock and roll is, you know, fun. But I offered to pay the guy and he didn't, and I apologize and he didn't accept my apology. And if you don't accept my apology, I don't know what to say. All right. But other than that, it was a fun tour. Richard made it through okay. He was eating and a good time was had by all.
And we made it back all to our respective places of residents safely. Yeah. And by the way, speaking of undisclosed locations, I'm, I guess I'll say this on the face on the show now. I am looking, you know, I play with, I play with Chad and Chad Bush another country guy in California and, you know, on the west coast. And that keeps me pretty busy. But when I'm out here in an undisclosed location, I really need to find an, I need to find a rock and roll band to get my jollies out, an outlet for my rock and roll side of it, an outlet for rock, for what, how do I put an outlet for being a goofball on stage, okay. So if anybody knows any, any decent rock bands in, in, on the east coast, you know, somewhere around the New York area, let me know friends because I'm looking for another gig. I want to stay playing with Chad, but, you know, Richard Manitoba plays, the gigs are few
and far between the Butler's Hardly Play and ACDC cover band Hardly Play. And the plunk it's Hardly Play. So I need some, I need to keep busy. So if you have any leads, let me know friends. All right. All right. That's going to do it for the update. I'm going to do another show later this week on this weekend, Friday. I'm going to Niagara Falls to see cheap trick at a casino. Hopefully that'll be fun. What's going to be fun for sure. Hopefully to be a good show. So I'll try to give you a show review of that as well. New Susie Quattro came out. New Black Cros came out in Stephen La Perry A from, from French, Canadian, wants me to do a track by track of that. So if, so Stephen, please don't, please don't send me that out because that would just be wrong. But if you don't, then I'll, then I'll do a track by track on that. I'll probably do a track by track of the new Susie Quattro as well. Lots of new albums coming out and that's more content there. I'm also going to be doing a one song. So I used to do these
shorter episodes. I would, I would like break down one song and analyze every part of it. Thinking of doing that with one, what I think is the greatest lyrics ever written in a rock and roll song by Rod Stewart called every picture tells a story. I think maybe Ron Wood saying that. Give me some fun facts about every picture tells a story for when I do that as well, friends. All right, I think that that's going to do it for me. Thank you for listening to these updates on the handsome Dick Manitoba Midwest tour. We're planning on going to do in California, like I don't know later on in the year. Like I said, I need to keep busy playing rock and roll as well as country up here. I also like to play in a country band up here. You know, there's a good country scene. I'm not really looking. The money's not important to me as you know, all the money helps because I'm broke. Please keep those donations coming. It's, but again, the money's not important. I like, I just like to play. So if it's a good band, it plays gigs. Let me know, friends. All right, I will talk to you soon. Here is the song in question that caused
the drama on the last gig, rock and roll geek.com, rock and roll geek at gmo.com is how you reach me. Find me on the Facebook, on our geek, find me on the Instagram, rock and roll geek, don't ask Twitter, on our geek. You know, the drill. Thank you, friends. I'll talk to you soon. If it is all squares with one hand, they don't let it go. I don't wear country rock. It's all the way. I don't want music. I want pain. The gigators can't swing. We'll make you dance and sing.
God's no oil to spill. Do not know what, but you will. We're the members of the master race. We got no style and we got no days. Sleep all night. Sleep all day. Nothing good or deep in any way. Got to insert it. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. We reach the higher. Spirits will play and it's so hard. I can't explain. We don't know to make it up. We play sports so don't get fat. We dance with instinct. I tell you, we can eat and drink. We don't do what we're told. And we're scared of throwing up. We're the members of the master race.
We got no style and we got no days. Sleep all night. Sleep all day. Nothing good or deep in any way. Got to insert it. We'll stop us now. My favorite part of throwing up is one of second throwing up. It's the duty of God to pay for eating burgers every day.
I take my bottom and seat because I know what's good for me. Life can take its toll when you're living what kind of world. We're the members of the master race. We got no style and we got no days. First up with your sleepers on. We're going outside to have some fun. Don't forget to mop your van. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let
Let's go! Let's go! Let's go! It's a rock-a-roll geek train wreck!
