About this episode
Country Squire Radio's 'Half Bowl Histories' series takes a look into the history, lore, and legacy of individuals, places, and events of interest that helped shape the world we know today for good and for ill. Here we get a chance to revisit some of the famous pipe smokers we’ve covered in the past and shift the focus from what they loved to who they were and the complexities of their lives. This week, famed painter and pipe smoker: Claude Monet
Pipe Question: (From Joel) Hey guys! First off - I LOVE the “Father to Father” series! - especially the most recent one. Thanks for being honest and vulnerable and telling it how it is for all of us dads! Next - I bought a nice pipe rack from a seller on eBay, and it came with a bunch of pipes. Two of these are EA Carey “Magic inch” pipes. They have a perforated area on the stem that lets in cool air - and they take a “papyrate” paper filter. It’s really strange, but I have to say - both of these pipes smoke really well! After I cleaned them up and sterilized them, I have really enjoyed them. Just wondered if Jon David had any experience with these pipes. Any road - as always - absolutely love your podcast! Like riding around with two good friends! Thank you!
Listener Feedback: (From Chaz) I just received my order of Whale Song in the mail today and I have to say, it was a world class "unboxing" experience. I've gotten several orders from The Country Squire and I always appreciate the hand-written note, but today's delivery was truly exceptional. The accompanying card with the tasting notes, pairings from Tea, to Coffee, to Cocktails was really helpful and a next level touch. Congrats to Quinn. I purchased enough to smoke now with some to cellar, and I can't wait to enjoy this. I love the show, I love the shop and I have to tell you, listening has even been a catalyst in re-connecting me to the faith. I love that I can listen to your show without fear of what might come across the speakers when my grandkids are in the car! Keep up the great work and thanks for making this service available!
